Please discontinue region locking your content so people who do not live in the centre of the universe (The USA) can actually watch these videos. Absolutely unnecessary and disrespectful to people from other countries just looking for something good to watch.
Yeah, unless I was literally gonna be evicted or something and desperate there’s no way I’d have sold the one that’s actually from Scotland for that. The memories would be worth more to me. I’m not sure I could have sold them anyway, family and my heritage means too much to me.
Lol true. I've only just started watching these videos in the last week but after 5 hours of content I am pretty sure if this guy said 550 he would have gotten either 525 or the same 500 so may as well ask. At least he did the proper 3 step start "over value, undervalue response, meet in the middle"
@@CreationsVibrationI love seeing people in the comments section get heartbroken over something that has nothing to do with them. Paying rent is more important than memories
Well, my grandfather spent time looking for these knives, negotiated a price, kept them on his person through tough spots and finally managed to get them home so we could pass them down to his son. My father kept these safe for many years so that he could pass them down to his son. I just need to pay rent next month, let's go.
@@youtube-ventura paying rent is more important than having an heirloom. You might want to be sitting on the street holding onto your precious little memories, not everyone's like that. I wouldn't call them shallow I would call them intelligent. I can't say what I would call you cuz I don't want my comment to be taken down lol. Here's a hint, I have a feeling you grew up riding the short slow bus lol.
@@shadycnetwork Why can't the guy pay rent in the first place? Sounds like he made some bad financial decisions so it's 100% his fault. The guy is a complete moron and sold his grandfather's cherished knife for 500 bucks. You are a pos if you sell your family heirloom because you made terrible financial decisions.
Rick says one of his hard things of his job is to tell people their family prized possession are fake but has no problem laughing in their face to tell them is fake 😂😂
Success seems to be connected with action successful people keep moving. They make mistakes. But they don't quit. The stock market has plenty of opportunities to earn a decent payouts, with the right skills and proper understanding of how the market works.
The small dagger is a sgian dubh. I have one exactly the same, in silver with a stone. Purchased it in 1980 along with my Macbeth kilt. It didnt cost anywhere near $800.
I have several of both, I had three that got stolen from me, two dirks and a black knife ,(dagger) all three were of my lineage (pass downs) the place they got stolen from never returned calls several times.
So sad to see people sell their grandparent’s, great grandparent’s heirlooms for what is really not much money. A nice Sgian Dubh though. Kinda surprised that the “expert” didn’t know what it’s called.
@@predatorcote1944it's scripted not staged. You can look these people up and see their credentials. I've actually spoken to people that have been on the show and sold items. See , it's not a good thing when you assume.
If Rick paid as much as the people in the comments section ( most of y'all have never been inside a pawn shop much less owning one) think he should pay, he would be out of business lol.
That second knife is worth about $6500. But. The expert, who is also a buddy of Rick. It's getting twenty percent of what they sell it for after the guy leaves
People saying that other people shouldn't sell their prized possessions or whatever, should realize that not everyone is in your shoes, sometimes they NEED the money more than something that's taking up space.
Because there wasn't a lot of detail to the story, he could already tell the one was fake, and it's the same story he's probably heard a thousand times when people try to pawn off fakes/replicas. The show plays into the background/story of items but true pawn shops are in the business of selling items, not stories. There are plenty people who knowingly try to pawn off bad items but use a story such as "I got it from my dad, who go it from his dad" to legitimize what isn't actually authentic. As well, such a claim plays on a person's emotions because "who would lie about such a thing." No way for me to say this is exactly what happened, but suppose a person researches the small "dagger" and learned they are usually paired with a dirk, and therefore are more valuable with the dirk. They source a similar looking replica hoping they can get someone to buy the pair for more than the original dagger is actually worth, hoping the buyer is unable to tell the difference. That's my take anyway. The important thing when buying old items is to not get sucked into the story, especially if there's no way to authenticate it.
I think the how dare you sell family heirlooms that have nothing to do with me crowd are the most annoying ones here. Wait a minute the it's fake people are just as annoying.
Why are people so desperate these days? Hold onto it for a couple more years and you'll double your money! It's such a waste bringing antiques and rare pieces to a pawn shop! Don't complain if you get lowballed!
Ya, only people in Scotland have any knowledge or expertise of anything that has to do with Scotland. It's literally impossible for anyone outside of Scotland to know anything at all about Scotland or anything in Scotland.
what a CARPPY show this has turned into all to save a dollar and literally make their own noose which has destroyed this show. An empty shop all to save a few dollars
What an object. The material and finishing is clearly sophisticated, maybe made a century or two ago, but the shape looks like something from 4000 years ago.
