Why can't you pay using your Venmo balance? Users have been having issues using their Venmo balance to pay and send money to other users. There is no option to use the balance when it's time to transfer money. What's the reason? Venmo rolled out new guidelines that force users to verify their identity. This includes the following information name, address, date of birth, and social security number. This way Venmo will track who is sending the payments and report it to the IRS.
