I don't know why people are still saying "it was bold of them". Imagine if they didn't release it in the time they said in the roadmap. People would be crying like x100000000000 times more, something like "Your game is broken and you promised the DLC, you can't even release it!" No, I'm sure they made the right decision.
@@foxwoosh ..or they could have just made an announcement saying "hey guys, DLC will be a month or two late, gotta fix the game" and then release a patch that improves the game.
Love how the new SMG isn't even using the .45 caliber bullet model that are in the DLC files for it and instead is using rifle rounds Really wonder how starbreeze managed to mess that up
Already mentioned that in a stream. Inspecting is contineously being improved upon but wanted to push it as fast as possible since it was such a requested feature. @@DesKaisersMarineOffizier14
Couldn't agree more. Haven't bought the DLC and zero plans to do so. Maybe once they tank the price of the full bundle to $4.99 in a year or two when the game has received much-needed core upgrades and quality of life changes. Thank you for covering it in such good detail, as always!
Honestly, this is kinda heartbreaking, I really want to like this game and i was hoping that the DLC would help breath in some life. It's just disappointing to see so little put in as they ask for alot. I'll grab the bundle if it goes on sale down the line.
For the Drones, I like the idea that they stay at the place where they have seen you. In higher difficulty, the circle can be increased when they spot you, so that avoiding them is more important. That the Drone should act like the Guard, if he hears sounds in a secure area.
I wish we would get a map that is more than one building. Like 4 stores but bigger and with the new detail with stuff like atms and such to rob. That was allways a neat detail that added to the immersiveness of the world, you can bring a saw and open an atm. That is gone now but I'd like to see stuff like this back. Idk have some stores be the front for some crime thing and you dont know which store and you can rob the store too but you actually want the methlab in the basement or something. It's a bit sad that on most maps you can walk 10m and be greeted by an invisible wall.
6:00 I noticed the same lighting phenomenon with Turbid Station. Some areas are dark and others are incredibly bright and going from one to the other is blinding. I don't know if it's some "rEaLiStIc pupil dilation" effect they were going for but it is supremely obnoxious.
I'm still baffled that payday the heist has the best exp framework out of the entire series, with the only flaw being how excruciatingly slow it was for a game with 9 heists. Thanks to exp being rewarded based on both objectives and how many players survived it was very good at rewarding you based on how well you did in the mission, especially with challenges acting as supplemental rewards to encourage variety without feeling like the only way of leveling up. It's somewhat emblematic of payday 3's overcorrection of payday 2's mistakes that challenges are so heavily encouraged after being absent in payday 2.
Was Payday: The Heist's level up system that grindy before overdrill? I started playing Payday: The Heist very late in it's lifecycle and spamming overdrill was a pretty quick way to level up fast
@@existence3585 it doesn't have enough content to warrant the grind even in the case of someone who isn't familiar with the game series, I'd wager that of you played each heist on 145 difficulty 5 times (45 runs) you wouldn't be able to level up from 145 to 193, which is absolutely insane to me
I'll admit I haven't been keeping too much of an eye on PD3 after the horrible release, but I am genuinely shocked this was paid DLC. I don't mean that in a 'you can't monetize your work' way but a 'the game is still floundering and you want to charge people first' way. There seems to be so many core issues that need to be fixed before charging (IMO wayyy too much for what you get) money for DLC.
hard agree, asking for money now feels very greedy, but at the same time they dug this hole themselves. they had a whole year planned of pre-release dlc announced. so you either do it and get shit for it, or don't and get shit for it. either way, the asking price just ruins it even more
I feel like they should add some skill point to use in the tree for scrambler to be useable but at the same time doing that would make other build broken so idk. I feel like this system of skill (and how it's been designed for the launch tree) can't really work well in term of balance, like it's either the skill is so broken that you can't afford to not have it or it will be too weak/situational so other skill will be used instead. For now it might not be a problem but if you had like 3/4 more skill line in the tree theses skill needs to be strong enough to compete with what we already have but at the same time niche enough to not just be a straight upgrade and idk if you can afford to lose much of the skill we already have for lots of build
you should try one armed robber. it's like payday, but one armed, and just released a few days ago. it's free, has a few heists and weapons, attachments and loud/stealth.
another mind boggling decision by them…don’t forget the lobby chat also can’t even be seen by players already in the game either..its like the devs don’t even play video games
wait, this dlc is not included in gold edition or i missed when u mentioned it? By the way, the whole game is not worth it, not to mention the dlc u showed us here, i made a mistake getting gold edition and playing only 2hours maybe, while i spent more than 2k hours in pd2 and still play it sometimes. They went from good game (PDTH) to great game (PD2) to shit game (PD3) and i wont buy anything from now on from them. Nice video as always man.
Oh, of course there's that guy. One who told us trust me bro. Trust me wait long ass time. I dont give a shit if it broken now i dont care if they fuck up the game. Wait your damn ass there they will fix a game that should been fun and playable from get go and learn what made last game better.
I like how they keep making the game more and more hostile to solo players despite how low the player count is now -_- and randoms aren’t even a option as most of the people left that you can get matched up with are more aggravating to play with then the base ai
I agree, this sniper rifle is the most balanced weapon or just makes weapon pack balanced. You get OP submaschine gun, and an OK shotgun and GARBAGE sniper rifle. Really, playing with it on overkill difficulty makes you do same dmg as bot. 5-6 body shots to kill! WITH SNIPER RIFLE!! I would rather use basic SA144 or something sniper rifle, it's so much better. I like the DLC nevertheless.
I like the direction payday 3 is headed in for the most part (minus the whole armor debacle) and even I say the heist isnt worth it. Yeah its not nearly as bad as how predatory most game studios have become these days but the price point is still predatory that its priced that way so they can inevitably milk people for the gold edition when the upgrade drops around DLC 2-3 I wonder when the obligatory "skin shop" will come out with 10 dollar suits that turn you into a giant banana
I like how SCRY Digital is pronounced phonetically by everyone while I look at it and think SCaRY Digital because it makes the social commentary on tech companies comically less subtle.
Considering how cult Payday 2 was...I am a bit lost for words that so much stuff is not improved, but regressed in some ways. It's same devs, they should know better.
I preordered the gold version of this game because i was expecting a masterpiece and played payday 2 for thousands of hours. I now only have 5 hours on payday 3 and this game is a massive flop and disappointment
ONE HEIST?! Lmfao. Hell even Crime Boss is giving better post launch content.... their $10 DLC came with like 3 heists and a storyline. And every heist map in that game is really several maps since every time you load it its different. Like the fkin architecture changes on most of them... this is sad what has become of payday.
so the game gets released on the most broken and unfinished state ever, and literally 3 months after they put content behind a paywall, lmao. I hope they get bankrupt
@@bcav712 The thing is, they already invested multiple millions in the game, including a lot of unnecessary stuff, what's so hard about investing a little more in licensing guns?
the game features at least 3 or 4 heists where the getaway is just static and cops spawn right next to it. I'm not usually the guy that cares about "immersion", but c'mon . . .
@@octoleechthere's a plenty of good escapes (and they really should've made PD2 Preplanning a default option for PD3), but yeah, there's plenty ass escapes.
Steamcharts tell the tale....1.463 players in the last 30 days. Payday 2 still has 27k. And they are releasing paid dlc instead of more free fixes and content to get players in the game. *facepalm*
I find looking at pure playerbase stats so stupid. Payday 2 is playable on actual potato PCs,had multiple game giveaways and has much more content than 3 atm. I bet there is only like a thousand people who dropped payday 3 to play payday 2 instead. Others just went to play different games. Also people can just get bored with only 9 base game heists and move onto another game waiting for content drop which would result in rigging the player count stat
@@Qeseu ok, thats your opinion and i dont have to call it anything to disagre with it. Must be easy for you, calling stuff you dont like stupid and then giving no facts but opinions yourself. Respect! That said, PD3 has atm a fifth of the players of Payday 2 in its worst months. And the studio is in a very different situation...so yeah. Maybe try using facts instead of your own view to call stuff stupid. At least just TRY to read up on stuff before you build your own view out of the things you feel are true. Also maybe try: #justnotthatsmart instead - I know it could work better for you. But anyway, you do you. have a nice day.
Would've felt better if they fixed progression, but you know, ACTUALLY fixing it and keeping challenges out of it. Any heist could be awesome, and so could any weapon, but if I feel like my time is being wasted because of the challenges, I won't have fun.
@@xthijsbos6811 That's on you for enduring the old system, if it was up to me, and that's what I did, I wouldn't have wasted my time on the old system.
I've mentioned this in other videos before, but I don't think content is the only issue. Direction of gameplay and skills, satisfying and fair leveling and progression, and actually implementing changes that aren't just "here's a low effort challenge screen in your menu" are needed before adding content
They should’ve made the heist free to make up for the disaster of a launch this game had but instead they double the price compared to pd2 dlc and give the few people that are left playing this game the finger. The dlc is garbage too! They’ve totally lost thier minds.
if we are going to talk about 18 bucks for a heist, 3 guns, and cosmetics is pricey. We need to start talking about how microtransaction cosmetics being worth 20 dollars IS AN EVEN WORSE DEAL!
games and game companies realized how much money could be made. now only a few are actually passionate about bringing a good product. people need to be reminded that these companies are not your friends
@@GeneralMcBadass you are spot on. Best thing I did game wise was geting a pre built pc that is made for games south of 2016. So many great game son my pc now that aren't broken or dlc or battlepass heavy.
being a brazillian fan of Payday, the PD2 dlcs always had salty prices here. (R$ 23,50 for a US$ 6,99 DLC) So seeing this DLC cost 17,99 DOLLARS, basically the same here, is sad in a miserable way. and it also costs R$ 90,00 here too.
My biggest issue with the DLC isn't the DLC itself. It's that as a normal edition user I can't buy the season pass without rebuying the game. Everyone knows buying the DLC individually is a suckers move because the whole point of a DLC pass/bundle is to get everything cheaper by buying in bulk. I've already decided I want the DLC, just need the pass so I can get the DLC the best way. And because there's no FOMO at the moment, I can easily wait it out. Not like there's a shortage of competition to play in the meantime.
The old players since pdth and the pd2 beta warned everyone, that ovk is just going to double down after they decided to attract more cs:go kids with the saves. Only pulling the keys being paid items after enough backlash AND after they made enough money. It was really quiet for a while after the initial uproar. They just waited it out yo squeeze more money out of gambling afdicts. Then the copius amounts of low effort dlc. Then ultimately just glove skins and weapon colours ala cs:go and COD. Thus completely replacing the userbase. Sonce most sensible players moved on. Now que pd3, they haven't learned from the 2015 disaster. Failing to churn out 2 games Raid Ww2 or Overkill's walking dead . Both are dead and abandoned. I hope ovk/ Starbreeze finally goes bankrupt for good. They ruined two companies already by gross mismanagement incompetence abd greed. Let's hope another company thst actually loves the heist genre picks it up snd does it better. Like swat4 being faithfully recreated by void entertainment as Ready or not and Swat tactical stories by a different company.
They don't deserve your attention. Leave these ungrateful people and come back in like 5 years or something. I'm more interested in whatever else you are playing. Honestly give me anything but this, please.
Call me a hater or whatever but the ONE reason I despise this heist is the new Techy. Once they come in it makes the heist unfathomably unenjoyable. It's just constant "where the fuck am I being shot at from?" and I honestly hate that. It really worries me that they will soon be on every map.. Yikes. Not a good enemy. Why not bring back the medics? I thought that was a cool new addition they added in PD2 and they just removed them.
The entire DLC pack almost cost as half as much as the base game, the base game is still a disaster. I'm now glad PD3 flopped, Overkill, or more likely Starbreeze, have gone completely of their minds. Their venture into turning Payday in a live-service game completely backfired, they deserved this failure.
Is it just me or is this heist look like a Halo 5 forge map? The lighting may be a big culprit but to me the whole thing has that 'synthetic' early Xbox One era look.
