I have been looking for something that is simple and direct for my clients. I seems between the two, PayPal my be the way to go. Do you know how Wave compares to these two?
Thanks for the video. As a full-time digital marketer and ebook author, I recommend Stripe. PayPal is garbage, has zero user-support, favors scammers over longtime users, and has a poor architecture for payments. Stripe is the best.
Hi Jill, We completely agree and wish there was an easier way! You might find some good advice for your clients in our Guide To Preventing & Winning Chargebacks. Thanks for tuning in! www.merchantmaverick.com/cutthroat-business-chargebacks-protection-prevention-prevailing/
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks for the review. Could you please drop me the link of your Stripe in depth review too, didn't see it in your description.
Hi, Karl. That would be a no on sending money through Stripe. It might help to think of PayPal's payment processing service as being a different compartment in that regard as well. Sending money to accounts would not fall under merchant account services.
@@karlhans6678 Stripe is a payment processor that allows you to accept payments from customers. To learn more about Stripe and how you may be able to utilize it for your business, visit: www.merchantmaverick.com/reviews/stripe-review/
Nice job. I would appreciate knowing more from the customers POV. PayPal is so well known. Do customers trust Stripe as much as PayPal? Particularly wondering if the the age 40-60+ customers - will they be suspicious of trusting Stripe?
There is no stripe gateway. Like he said it works in the background. Most sites that have a section to enter credit card info are using stripe, and there is usually a button under it that gives you an option to checkout with PayPal. Most customers that use stripe through a website they're on don't know they're using Stripe, they're just entering the card info.
Hi and thanks for stopping by! Both PayPal and Stripe integrate with Zoho Books, Xero, and QuickBooks. However if you are interested in anything beyond these, you'd need to check out the websites to see if they are supported.
Hey ssjj005! We actually haven't reviewed that provider, so we can't give an opinion one way or the other. It does, however, look like there are some comparisons available online. If you search "dlocal vs stripe" you should find some helpful info. Good luck to you!
Hi, Rehan! Using Shopify's in-house payment processor may be the easiest for you since you'll find it at your dashboard in the set up process. You'll also save on additional transaction fees. Here is our full review on Shopify Payments: www.merchantmaverick.com/reviews/shopify-payments-review/ We hope this helps and best of luck!
@@MerchantMaverick thank you for the response i shall watch the link. Is there like any data on what customer base uses or prefers a particular gateway. I surely am not to sure of PayPal with all the negative reviews. Can i have multiple online businesses on stripe or PayPal, with one EIN number, with a structure where i have a LLC and have multiple DBAs under it, is that advisable or go for LLC for each of the online store and separate payment gateways?
@@rehanbshah Our full reviews of both PayPal and Stripe cover customer reviews to give you an idea of what the consensus is. Advice on how to structure your business is out of our scope, but we strongly encourage you to read the full contract of PayPal, Square, or Stripe so that you understand each processor's acceptable use/prohibited businesses policies. If what what you are selling is restricted by the processor, you are better off getting a merchant account or even a high risk merchant account. That is because all of them (and any merchant account) has their own policies and can legally hold funds and/or terminate an account under certain circumstances. We hope this helps and best of luck.
It is worth comparing other solutions, e.g. less known but with better options. When it comes to payment gateways, g2a pay is an interesting solution, because it supports more than 80 currencies and 200 different payment methods.
Hi, Joanna! Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. In this video, we wanted to focus on these two specific third party processors and how they compare. When it comes to payment gateways, we have dug into many options there and came up with our list of the best. You can find this full post by visiting: www.merchantmaverick.com/best-payment-gateways-online-payment-processing/
Hi and thank you for watching. You are right that Stripe is not available in the Philippines, however Stripe Atlas helps you form a legal entity and set up a company as a C Corporation in the US. We talk about Stripe Atlas and how much it costs in this post: www.merchantmaverick.com/complete-guide-stripe-pricing-costs/ We wish you the best of luck!
Warning: They freeze your account for more than a week. On Feb. 16 I tried to buy bitoin on paypal. They set my account to "account limitation" (froze the account). They wanted 3 documents, bank statement, i.d. etc which I provided. Then on Feb. 22 they wanted my social security number. Today is Feb. 24 and my account is still frozen. Beware that paypal's system is very inefficient and will tie up your money for days.
Hi Mohsen! You're right, our first videos were a bit loud! We have adjusted and improved our volumes of voice and music since then, and we invite you to watch more videos on our channel so you can hear the difference! ;)
We're sorry you had a bad experience with PayPal but unfortunately holds are a side-effect of the third-party processing model that PayPal, Stripe, and other companies use. A merchant account is a more stable option for high-volume businesses! Check out our post on account holds: www.merchantmaverick.com/avoid-merchant-account-holds-freezes-terminations/
paypal has a very bad fraud system! some people purchased items from me then they claimed it was unauthorized purchase! i didnt send the item and refunded the buyers to avoid the disputes and the loss ! but paypal put a hold on my money and reserve because they said you issued too many refunds! and i couldnt even get to talk to their back office ,no number ! nothing! because they agents on the phone say we dont have the authority and cant give u number of the back office....
Thanks for stopping by, Tyler! The more user input we have, the clearer judgement we can make between the two. We hope you've found a processor you do like!
Hi, David! Thanks for stopping in to our channel today. Unfortunately that is a frustration that comes with all of the third-party processors. It is very easy to sign up, but they are all more likely to hold funds, especially if there is a change in sales. This post may help you avoid more issues: How To Keep Your Payment Processor From Holding Funds Or Terminating Your Account: What Small Businesses Need To Know www.merchantmaverick.com/avoid-merchant-account-holds-freezes-terminations/
Hi J, There is no one size-fits-all approach when it comes to payment processing. We try to be conscious of that to give our audience the most options. Thanks so much for watching and commenting- we really do appreciate the feedback!
Hi, and thanks for visiting! We are sorry that word caused some frustration for you. While not formally recognized (yet) the word has been used since the mid to late 90s and has gained traction among tech-related circles. As grammar nerds here, we understand your pain, though! We are happy to hear that you found the video informative, otherwise!
@@MerchantMaverick Thanks for the response. Americans are obsessed with making up new words that are simply not needed, "survivability" is another... totally unneeded. I would surmise that the traction gained in the "tech related circles" is only in America also. Anyway, all the best and have a great weekend.
Thank you for your question. Unfortunately, Stripe supports a few dozen countries, and Iraq is not on the list. However, please take a look at this post and hopefully one of these options will work for you. Best of luck! www.merchantmaverick.com/the-best-offshore-merchant-account-providers/
