1) If you are scanning (or) Entering UPI PIN - Remember you are Paying. 2) Never go with payment methods that you are not aware. - In that case physical transaction will be better. 3) Never done a transaction in hurry - take your own time. (If any urgency is demanded in a deal, always better to avoid that deal) 4) Trust people , but if it is money related - Be Strong -Lend money only when there is a guarantee on return. 5) Finally Dont be greedy and never initiate a transaction with a chaotic mind!. Better postpone your transaction some time.
👆 hello friend " follow up with the name above on Instagram for your lost money to be refunded, I was able to get refund of my $15,000 from scam 6 days back please do something before it's too late for you.
I had the same calls and I fooled them by wasting scammers time. Actually, It's fun to listen to them pissed off, investing time and not getting a single penny from me.
I guess the most common scam is the ones saying "congratulations you won cash prize of abc.. rupees , all u need to do is transfer def.. rupees in to this bank account. Mere pass aisa call aya tha, maine kaha aap hamare taraf se gift samajh k rakh lo paise. Then he said kyu sir aap ko prize nehi cahiae. Maine kaha aap ko in paiso ki zyada zaroorat hai is liae aise kaam kar rahe ho na , TO RAKH LO. 😂😂 And then is ended the call
@@meghageorge6440 😁😁 your Dad knows how to make fun of them... 😂😂 My mother snaps at the caller the moment he starts about prize and stuff. One day I heard her shouting while in a call. She was like "hey begger stop wasting my time and take the so called prize to your home". I asked her who was it?? She replied "an idiot who thinks he can fool the world". If I find this men i will hit him with sandel without a second thought she said . 😂😂😂
@@meghageorge6440 ah .. I remembered another such incident during lockdown. The caller called himself government employee and told me that OUR CM is sending 3000 rupees to all bank account in my state so that people can by groceries. I said good . For that can you tell me your atm number",He asked. I said to him"ok wait a sec let me empty my account balance. Then I will tell my ATM number. He said "I will not take money from your account". I said "Don't worry I won't let you take any money from my bank account,so let me transfer the money to my uncle's account". And only then I will tell you my ATM number. It won't take long to transfer my money to my uncle's account, so wait a sec. Then he cut the call. Even if it was true that cm is sending us money , there is a high chance of the call being a fraud. So thanks but no thanks 😂😂
Few ways to get saved from scams: 1. Avoid receiving calls from unknown numbers on first ring. 2. Verify the incoming calls from truecaller or similar apps. Most of the times these scammers are already identified on these apps. 3. Make a habit to say "ok I will check and call you later".
@@raghuarmani8341 They are more experienced but we know a bit more about technology (Am talking about Indian parents who, most of them, are not used to it). So i guess in terms of technology, its ok if they consult us.
Not only these scams reduce our trust but also it makes it increasingly difficult to ask for help when we are in a situation where we genuinely need help! Shameful!
Same dhruv , i am also a victim of this same scam a year ago , 44000 gone in 3 instance. Thank you so much for this information video . Will surely recommend my family and friends to watch this fully , so that they are aware of these scams.
Everyone should have 2 accounts --- one as credit account - where all your salary etc are deposited. Another ac for payments -- always keep minimum amt and transfer money from main ac to this second ac whenever needed.
Fun fact : the title of the video was also playing with our mind because most of us clicked this video because we want to see how paytm googlepay do fraud 😂😂😂😂😂
This thing happened with me at 2018. I got 10,000 rupees request. I did all the process but I had only 7000 rupees in my account that time that’s why Payment cancelled 😂😂 and bachh gaya😂😂🤦🏻.
👆 hello friend " follow up with the name above on Instagram for your lost money to be refunded, I was able to get refund of my $15,000 from scam 6 days back please do something before it's too late for you.
Same thing happed with me for Rs 2000. The scammer even sent me 1 Re, but fortunately I stopped just before entering the last digit of my UPI pin. That man had a family photo as WhatsApp DP, which made him look legit. Anyways I ended up 1 Re in profit : )
Finally someone made a video on this! And also never give your phone to some stranger for calling someone else no matter what. Always while self attesting the documents please mention the place, date and the purpose for what the document will be used to save yourself from someone using your attested document for some scam. Neverr let anyone use your phone to login their Social media account. (You never know what they might be using that account for) These are just small things that can save you
I also got the call from a fraud armyman when i advertise my house for rent he called me in morning 7 o clock.. i paid rs 1 got back rs 2 but i didnt pay further so in the end i looted rs 1 from scammers 👻😂👻😂 Being A Responsible Citizen I Emailed the Whole incident to Police 🙏
@@jejejejeke7y67 no not yet, they are scammers and you know how banks and police works in India, they dint even bother about my complaint including phone pay guys
I would suggest.... 1. You cannot share your documents like Aadhaar card, Pan card, Voter Id card etc Because scammer can misuse you documents with others. 2. You also cannot believe those documents that he/She share with you in your Whatsapp Because the documents might be original and possibly it is an others shared documents. So be careful 🙏
How can someone hate this guy? He's positive, humble and diligent. Helps millions with his educational videos almost everyday. Even though I m aware and cautious about these things, i really enjoy watching your videos. There's something to learn and improve ever single time. Keep up this amazing work. Big salute and love..
@Neptune bro, it doesn't make sense to hate someone cuz of his political opinions. Ex: Kangana Ranaut get Padma Shri for being political while people hate Dhruv for being political ??...dude its a campaign from government and its paid trolls.
bhai, factually incorrect is government of India, always. They keep speaking lies openly. Dhruv Rathee ne aaj tak kuch galat nahi bola. Do let me know if you felt Dhruv spoke wrong ??
@Neptune haha...bhai incident batane ke bajai u r running away from conversation ?...if you say there are some videos of Dhruv which are factually incorrect then give me an example ?...if you don't then i am sorry to say u r a Troll and nothing else.
As a 13 year old living in America I can say that people like u inspire me to learn more about the world, not only the good, but also the bad. Keep up the good work, I learned Hindi by watching cartoons, really easy to understand you now
After 1 year of this video, The same scam happened with my friend yesterday, exactly same way on OLX. I wish she would have got this video in her recommdations before.
Guys you don't need UPI pin for receiving money, when ever UPI pin is asked after scanning QR code you are the one paying the money. And one more thing you don't need other person's QR code to received money, its your QR code or UPI ID that the other person should ask to send you money.
Remember one and tell this to everyone, "NEVER EVER ENTER YOUR PIN- ENTERING PIN MEANS GIVING AWAY YOUR MONEY" (for receiving money no need to enter pin)
Trust me just last night only I was having a conversation with my Dad...I was just telling all the advantages of technology..and he was just telling the disadvantages, merely focusing on scams !
I was also scammed two times physically, they were asking for money to return home and then said they will return it later, but again I haven't seen them again. They have made use of my kindness.
dhoort banne se better hai moorkh ban jana. you did what you should. You cannot stop being kind just because some people take advantage of your kindness. Be careful but keep helping.
Good job Dhruv. Here one thing that people must understand to save themselves from such scams. While receiving payment, receiver doesn't need to scan any QR code. QR code scanning is required only for making a payment by a payor and not by receiver.
Blessed to have such a great youtuber who exposes harsh reality of society , about how people are being cheated. Thanks Dhuv for making all of us so aware.
I have faced this situation through OLX & abused that man who was cheating me . Never ever make any payment when the other party is not present in front of you . i repeat NEVER
Bro so relatable I tried selling some study material online a week back and faced the exact same situation and the end of the convo when he wasn't able to scam me and started abusing me
My son was just about to fall a prey to such a scam. Thankfully he managed to understand the situation and had a long conversation with him trying to find out how they operate. It was so interesting. And of course, didn’t lose any money. He was selling his old guitar through OLX.
Yes mam... Same here i need to sell my old engineering books on olx. After posting my ad i received 2,3 calls and they are ready to pay full amount to me even without any physical meeting. Firstly i doubt them bcos ovio no one is fool now a days who ready to pay full amount without face to face meeting. Then after sometime they repeated the same incident. They told me to scan the QR Code and I received 1 re. Since I am an engineer so I understand it very quickly and abuse them very badly in front of my mom 😌. By doing such scams they are even spoiling the image of our INDIAN ARMY as well.
@@rkgangopadhy mam 100% same situation same everything like Dhruv bro explained, only difference of AC i mean that time i was selling my old phone 😭 and i losed my Rs.7700 which i collected from many years for my Art supplies😭😭😭😭😭
Dhruv, great info. In my years of banking career, I have seen ton of customers scammed via fake JOB OFFERS where they appoint you to do next to nothing like mystery shop for us, we will send to cheque, keep a part and send the rest back. Eventually cheque will bounce on victim. There are many versions of this, I hope you can cover it some day. Great work 👏
Omg..I was feeling guilty for same kind of scam happened with me..I was feeling how stupid I am..but now I realize it's the situation that screen your mind and even common sense don't work at that point of time
Same had happened with me at Secunderabad Junction. An old lady scammed me saying that, "I don't have money for ticket, please help to get back to my home". 30 mins later I saw the same lady asking for money to other people. I know it is not exactly a scam, but I felt like a fool that time..
Similarly there are incidents of Scammers Targeting Small scale shopkeepers who display their UPI QR CODE Outside their shop. when the shops are closed at night, scammers will paste their personal QR code over the actual QR code of the shop so that when ever a payment is done by the customer, the money will be send to the scammer instead of the shopkeeper. Shop owners must never display/paste their QR Codes outside the shop.
When I was 11 yr old, I was in trouble of my bicycle. The chain of the bicycle was broken. A man came to help me and paid for the repairs. Then he requested me to take a round of the cycle to test. The man never returned.
This same happened with my friend 😳😳. He lost ₹20000 on OLX. He went to so many police stations to file FIR but the system is so corrupt that he got no solution.
WOW!! This actually happened with me yesterday, I almost fell for it - it was unbelievable!! Thanks for spreading awareness on this topic, everyone needs to watch this!
ye scam mere sath b krne ki koshish ki ti ek bnde ne OLX website k through, But mai bach gya ta usne bhi Army wala id card bheja pr maine to unke office me hi phone krke puchh lia ta ki ye bnda apke yha kaam krta h ya nhi......unhone mana krdiya or main is trh se bach gya ta is scam se.....agr glti se mai kr deta to 30000 Rs ka nuksaan hojana tha 👌😁very nice Dhruv bro 👌 keep it up the good work 🤗
I was on a red signal and the transaction of selling my old sofa was going on on a call. Time pressure. I clicked it because only 20 seconds were left for a signal to go green. Thankfully, it was just 3K (though not small). But then he sent three requests...and it sparked!. I'm tech-savvy but the story happened when Google Pay was introduced. The worst part is...Google Pay says that you ask the bank...and the bank says that you ask Google Pay. I provided all information -phone, UPI of that scammer...but of no use. I still receive many such calls but I NOW LOVE TALKING TO THEM. The final words of mine are really enjoyable ... it is actually a dictionary of 'gaaliya'.
And Ya don't miss that Kejriwal's daughter is IITD pass out. So, never think that just by being IITian you can't be easily manipulated or cheated. Knowledge of cyber security is utmost important.
You elaborate things in a very simple way. I think UPI is a good way of transferring money. But to avoid these scam one can make certain limits for themselves. Like, set a bank out with less amount e.g 5000 only, link only that account with UPI. Use it. Refill this account whenever necessary with your other acoount. For more than 5000, use cash, rtgs, neft, cheque etc. Last thing...never put your pin when you have to accept money.💰😃
Lol you literally killed logic here, does setting amount means you aren't going to be scammed? is ₹5000 very less to be loosed, setting amount isn't a beneficial idea, also using cash just directly go back to the place where we were, again those black money, no system for transactions etc....RTGS and NEFT aren't really adapted by people as much UPI has been adapted, these are complex figures for a common and poor man. UPI is already good in its way. What dhruv told, I think should be told to people prevent these scams.
the same thing happened to me when i was selling my items in olx , i got a call and he gave me a qr code of one rupee and was asking me to scan it . But i was like thinking if he was giving me money why should i scan the qr code and put the pin Good job Dhruv people should be awared about this
I once faced a scam in person. I was traveling to work one day when a really old man came up to me outside the metro station. He asked me how to buy a token to certain station, where his daughter lived. Then he told me he had no money, because his son doesn't give him any cash, and if I could lend him some money. I obviously felt kindness and apathy towards him and I gave him ₹50. The whole day I kept thinking about the man and how cruel his son is. On my return journey, I saw the same guy telling the same story to another woman. Such scams are very prevalent in delhi, specially near metro stations or bus stands. One needs to be very careful to avoid being scammed in India.
I am a college student and with my friends I have started a small business one year back. The same army thing happened with us and just to assure us about the payment, when we were a little taken aback , the person send us 2rs to confirm that I received my own 1 rupee and another 1 rupee from their side I just burst out laughing over the call 🤣 BTW Congratulations! ❤️❤️❤️

35 years ago, when I was traveling in train with my family, just when train started moving, a decent looking person approached us with a 100-rupee note for small change. After taking the 100 rupee note, he jumped off the running train.
Once a scammer called me to give voucher of 5k rupees, I instantly understood the situation and started to talking in BHOJPURI and saying weird things like thank you now I can buy a daaru, are you married etc.... He fed up so much that he started begging me to stop talking and cut down the call. Next day I circulated that number to my friends circle and every one started making fun with him for 1 hour then that number went unavailable and is still unavailable, I always call in hope that he picks my call and I can enjoy more 😂😂
I was also scammed in a similar way while selling my Refrigerator in OLX.. Scammers took me through exact same situations what Dhruv just mentioned in his video.. First I had received 10rs and then duped 5K instantly. Part and parcel of life and he is right - happens because of Socio and time pressure.. Love you bro!!
Same thing happened with me while selling tv on OLX they tried to scam me in name of indian army but I realized that they are scamming and I blocked them
Lol seems like you didn't have good grips on technology I had the same experience but I understood it very fast what was going on and he lost his 5-10 rs something rofl
During covid when college was closed my son tried to apply for online jobs. Many people responded & contacted him. He chose 2 jobs...first Metro railway job, second Axis Bank job. Both asked a minimum charges of ₹265, so he paid for Metro railway job. 2/3 times they asked for money for different reasons, last time they asked for 10k...which I didn't want to give but my son said it was essential to get the job. I spoke to that person. He convinced me & I paid. Later they asked for more money which I didn't pay. It was a team of 3/4 people who were calling. Finally he didn't get the job
I wish you had made this video an year back! I was scammed around the same time last year with QR code way(double transaction scam as you mentioned) when used OLX to sell stuff. Anyways, this was really informative and I am sure will help a lot of folks. Thank you so much for what you do. I follow all your videos and a huge fan of your work!
These scams were attempted multiple times with me over a couple of years. Most of the time the scammer calls you for the OTP and has got numerous reasons like to reactivate your SIM card, to renew your bank account or probably a lottery winning scam. Luckily I was aware and never shared details.

I was scammed 5 years back in 2017 while i was booking a ticket via MAKE MY TRIP Application.Booing charges were debited from my A/c but the ticket wasn't booked. I called the customer care from google and accidently he was a scammer. As sir said time trap. He trapped me in time and asked the OTP though being well educated and aware about the online transfer method. I dont know how i was trapped and1000 Rs was scammed. This incident still upset me.

If your dad has payment apps on his phone then he should learn about them. When i installed gpay at my father's phone, i spent an entire day trying to teach him everything about the apps and about scammers.
This video is going to be super helpful for so many viewers....and that ac selling example you gave exactly the same happened with one of my close friends when she was trying to sale books on some website...but luckily she did not fall a prey to the scammer.....she remembered the fact that UPI pin has to be used only while paying
One of the things we should all remember is that we could get scammed. Sounds funny, eh? It isn't exactly so simple. When we encounter such things, especially person to person exchanges, we think "Well, scams do happen but I don't think this is a scam... Would someone be scamming me? Nah, this seems kinda' legit." Remember, if you have no idea who the other person is, do NOT oblige. Even if it's for $10, never hesitate to say, "I'm sorry, I do not know you. I'm sure you could get around this situation in another way."
Yes you are right ! The same UPI scam happened to me but thank god I took some time when I was asked to go to pay option . I hung up the phone because he was creating time pressure and also psychological pressure as he was of my father's age . I must say we should believe ourselves more in such cases and should take some time to analyse the situation.
exact same thing happened with me. including i bought Split AC and i was selling window AC. The scammer tried the same 1 Rs trick. i was lucky enough to not fall prey since i have worked as software engineer in same domain so was extremely confident on backend workflow. the scammer was so confident that anyone could be manipulated. digital and tech literacy is a must for everyone now.
I totally agree with you, and this type of videos are informative for us........ But there is no specific UPI platforms responsible for these scams and problems.
