Here in L.A., you'll pick up close to 150 channels. Some stations have upward of 20 sub-channels. But, about scanning...an ATSC tuner will pick up a weak signal, one on the edge of the "digital cliff", and add it to the tuner's memory. But when you go to check it out, you get a broken-up pixellated image.

I have the same model. Works pretty good!

I have one of these I take to Arizona, I get 28 0r 30 channels, from 40+ miles away. even just 20 feet up on a shaky mast. Hope you are hunkering down and the storm passes with little impact. Best !

I have one of these also, not sure if same company but same design. I'm in the UP of Michigan and even up here I get 15 Channels. Most of the towers are 25-30 miles away and have great reception even with all the leaves on the trees. My only complaint if it really matters for 25 dollars is that they are cheaply made. I broke an element off by accident when putting up. Still picked up all the channels good though. I mainly watch METV and Grit. Got rid of cable a year ago and never looking back!

Okay, you missed the instruction on how to hook it up to the tv. How do the wires go from the control box to the tv etc.?????????????????????????????????????????????????

I have a similar antenna in my attic in Florida. It works better than the rabbit ear style antenna I used to have in my living room that would cut out if the wind was blowing or with storms. Now, it does not cut out at all with the wind and we get some extra channels like PBS which we watch a lot. I don't get the farthest local stations in my area which are about 47 miles away. I've learned that I need a large directional antenna with a preamp for them which I may install later. The antenna I have in mind is very large and I may not be able to put it in my attic. I'll find out later. I just don't want to put it outside if I can avoid it since we sometimes get Hurricanes with very high winds.

I built my own antenna for less than 50 bucks. I live about 70 miles south east of Nashville Tennessee and I can pick up 38 channels all are in HD. I wanted to post a picture of it but haven't been able to figure it out.

I bought one of that antenna and got nothing lol well I live about 40 miles from the nearest local channels, well $69 was a lesson paid to learn

Warning: the cable that comes with this antenna is flimsy and can break internally so you loose signal . Spend extra for Rg6 "quad shield " cable or regular Rg6 . Better cable better signal guaranteed

Dang, and we only get three channels in Northwestern Northern Michigan. You must be in a very suburban area.

How's the quality of the stations the antenna detected?

This unit is not weatherproof at all. The preamp circuit board is inside. The first rain or snow could damage the circuit board or rotor motor. Applied clear silicone on mine before installing.

Do all 18 channels come in clearly or do you have to use the rotor on the antenna to fine-tune?
