One of the most brutal nuzlockes Ive ever seen, but you can really see how far PBG comes along in terms of Pokemon skill. He goes from sending a geodude against a Roselia to using a baton pass strategy against the final boss.
Not gonna lie, ZigZam's demise still breaks my heart. He went from getting ragged on to no end, to being beloved, to being poked fun at, to dying horribly.
Nimnat was the true hero. While in the beginning, he lived in Tarty and Lawlup's shadows with PBG wanting Nimnat gone, he stayed strong and beat the champion alongside Bee. You did well Nimnat, really well. :)
Honestly, if the Pokemon is one he doesn't rely on too much, it's more likely to not be used in tricky situations as he relies on the Pokemon he thinks he can trust. Nimnat's a lucky chap lol
Not only that, but it meant there was actual character development throughout the series, so to speak. A lot of other people who do nuzlockes are probably already pros, and learn nothing throughout the game. PBG, on the other hand, grew as a trainer as he played, so progression was more than just getting stronger Pokemon. It was also about the trainer himself growing in experience, which all culminated into that Baton Pass strategy at the end.
I've decided to collect all the last words Peebin's Pokemon heard before they died. Here it is! Frank- "Don't die! You've done it so many times! Just take a big hit and get a quick attack in. Thunder punch... no... NO..." Tarty- "I honestly don't even know if Tarty can take another hit..." Elmo- "Magnitude 7? Ok, this has to stop happening." Marlet- "Marlet you rock! (no pun intended) I totally forgive you for killing Elmo now, you're totally forgiven." Lawlup- "I'm gonna lose the game!" Wurmpoo- "Uh oh... uh oh... UH OH..." Camel- "Just use lava plume I guess, I don't really know what this is." SlappyMagee- "Use your fighting moves, he's probably loafing." DrnkyMcPanda- "Can you guys tell how much I don't care about DrnkyMcPanda? Cause I DON'T." Gloooo- "Okay, that's not good" ZigZam- "Crunch? That doesn't sound good." Bloooo- "Don't burn me... Don't burn me..." Larz- " Oh wait, isn't he ground, so he's bad agai-" Maginator- "Oh, he has a thunder move?!" Useless- "He killed me. Uhh, yeah..." Lafawnda- "Dragon puuulse!! Don't die!!" And Nimnat, even though it wasn't cannon c: "Nevermind, he's dead. So dead."
Michael Price PRICE Michael Price Lol, yeah I should have put that in. >w< The only reason I didn't was because he said it after Lafawnda died, so I wasn't sure. Still funny though :3
What an authentically suspenseful playthrough. I had every expectation for him to die, at least to the champion. It's like a miracle that he won, and that final battle was the most suspenseful and tense Pokemon has ever gotten for me.
I just wanted to say: I am so shocked by the fact that Nimnat was the MVP at the end. (in combo with Bee of course) Many people are saying they're disappointed in the fact that Nimnat and Bee are the ones that survived at the end, but I think it made the finale so much more action packed and awesome. He won in the least expected way possible. With Nimnat. That whole series made me happy :D
The lore in my head is that Zigzam's spirit came to Peebins in his most needed moment: the battle against Steven. Zigzam then fused his soul with Bee, and Nimnat in order for them to sweep Steven's Metagross.
Djpatrick84 Did you know that nuptup died at koga's gym, Pro just raged and took the cartridge out, and pretended nothing happend, look up The Death Of Nuptup, it should be called pokémon nuzloke lost episode: The fall and return of nuptup
Never seen such a high body count for a Nuzlocke O_O surprised he made it. Though I am even more surprised he had this much difficulty with the gen 3 remakes.
The choice of using the exp share in gen 6 would drastically change how hard the game gets. With it, it's hilariously easy. Without it, it can get incredibly rough. Mind you that PBG didn't have the greatest knowledge in Pokemon either.
He barely knows pokemon which made it so funny Like the Kecleon wasting him and he's just like "it wasn't even super effective nooo" he doesn't even understand stab, peebs is the best
Survivors Bee the Crobat Nimnat the Ninjask Puttpoo the Pelipper Shuppet (Forgot it's name) iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii the Clampearl And Titanic the Castform
GamebotColour music at the beginning? jeeze, rewatching all the death, and I knew this at the time.... but dang PBG made some suck ass mistakes. He's like Ash sending a Caterpie against a Pidgeotto
I was definitely most saddened by Tarty's death. There's usually a lot of attachment to your starter (guilty as charged), so I really felt sad for PBG.
Amazing compliation. I love that you include the moments where each pokemon is caught, and when PBG compliments them, etc. Adds great context to make the deaths hurt all the more. Also love the tribute to the champions.
Grunter Boyee!! He had to use up a turn switching into them, leaving them open targets, while if he switched into DrunckyMcPanda,me would've died, and he could've switched into someone else without wasting a turn.
@@epm1012 I feel like that would be the hardest part of doing a nuzlocke. Knowing that you need to sacrifice one of your Pokemon so that the rest can live, and having to make that decision. The consequences for which would also be kind of weird, since letting one Pokemon take the fall for another is typically such a standard tactic.
Thank you SO MUCH for putting this together. This was seriously the perfect tribute video to the greatest Lets Play in the history of lets plays. Hats off to you sir!
Anyone else find it odd how nuzlockes always seem to work in a way where the early pokemon that every player talks shit about at first (Nuptup, Nimnat, and Mr.Stake) always end up as the surprise MvP memelord of the run?
That Zigzam scene. Geez I just imagined PBG and Zigzam battling together, forming bonds, eating together, and then zigzam literally gets bitten to death. @~@
And lead to victory. Nimnat knew of his importance the entire time. The "curse" was really just Nimnat's way of helping PBG's team become what it needed to be by finally accepting him into the party at the end.
But when do actually release them, it makes you feel a bit stronger and more determined on the inside. It's very sad though, especially if your not recording your gameplay because you will never be able to check the box to remember those Pokémon. That's why I always keep a log saying where I caught each Pokémon, it's nickname, the level I caught it at, and the level it died (if it did). I'll always remember you, destructer the Nidoqueen... sniffle...
I just did a wedlocke challenge on my Omega Ruby and finished it. My team were: Dodger (male Manectric) mated with Sparky (deceased female cosplay Pikachu), Marionette mated with Nightingale (female Shiftry and male Banette both killed) and finally Apple Crumble and Jelly (male Azumarill with Thick Fat and female Camurupt with Solid Rock). If it wasn't for Dodger knowing Flamethrower we would have lost that battle. The Deceased are: Jackie and Johnny (female Ralts and male Shromish died not long after each-other), Simpson and Duffy (male Beautifly and female Zigzagoon killed together) Red Baron (female Mightyena killed by a Graveler), Onion (male Minin first mate to Sparky, killed by a Starmie also he was named after Marriland's Omega Ruby Wedlocke) Lewis (Swampert starter, first love was Red Baron secound Nightingale killed by Primal Groudon). Nightingale (female Shiftry killed by a Walrein) and finnaly Marionette (FNAF of course, killed by Steven's Armaldo)
To be fair, Projared was cocky and repeated his mistakes a lot. He rode on experience, forgetting how RNG and dumb/unorthodox NPC movesets for pokemon are dominant in pokemon PvE. PBG, due to being a noob, ironically made him paranoid enough to learn and remember every mistake he made which made him careful (though not careful enough) to avoid making those same mistakes as much as possible...which basically made his run the most violent game of trial and error ever.
I'd recommend watching more of his content if you're looking for family friendly stuff, his series that he does with his friend called PB & Jeff is basically PG Game Grumps and it's amazing.
He probably just wanted to play some Pokemon, but didn't want to be bothered with going through the entire game, so he put himself in a situation that would ensure the series didn't last too long. Then irony hit him upside the head.
I didn't play a true nuzlocke in ORAS, I just did a permadeath. I only lost my Electrike (which I was unhappy about. Manectric is one of my favorite pokemon) and my Wingull. My first real Nuzlocke was in Black 2 and... well, there's a trainer really early on that's notorious for ending runs and... she wiped me. All she had was a Dunsparce, but it had Defense Curl and Rollout, which... yeah, you can guess how that went. My current Nuzlocke is a blind of Moon and I'm actually doing well. Uh, well, I guess it depends on perspective. I've actually lost like nine pokemon, but my Starter is still alive (I'm going with Starter Clause, so if he dies I lose) and I'm at the Elite Four. I'm just training up a bit beforehand. I will admit that I overgrinded a lot, but to be fair Sun/Moon will tear you apart if you don't. Those Totem Pokemon are no joke.
Yup. I've finished 2 wonderlockes on that game and geez it made me notice some pokemon people classify as "weak" *cough* serperior *cough* Are actually insanely strong with a bit of buff.
