if i spend 5$ on a keyboard and mouse combp i think i dont need a chair the carpet is just great

You just reminded me that I literally started with one of these milk crates when I had my first computer (which was very weak), now I'm sitting on my Pulselabz Guardian and my Gaming setup is great.

You can get more-less adjustable chairs at the 100 buck mark, sure. Just don't expect them to last very long. The critical point for adjustable task chairs is around 300 bucks, anything below that and there's been some compromise in materials - usually that means substandard padding that loses shape really quickly, complemented by cheaper plastic compounds. i'd say the gain in quality and ergonomics is pretty linear from about 300 to about 1000 dollars - the more you invest the more you get. Past the 1000 bucks mark it's really all about brand name, fabrics/leather and designer quirks that you pay for. The high end chairs tend to last for 10 years in good shape so i'd say the cost of sitting comfortably is better than on cheap Walmart chairs. As to the thin padding and plastic back - at least the Gesture (ain't sat on the others) does not need more backrest padding - the backrest itself is flexible enough - it's fixed at two pivot points and the rest adapts the curvature of your body. The world goes on and even chairs are becoming more and more clever, time to catch up.

+Shadownian a plush leather chair isn't going to support your back for as long as these higher end ones. When she said cushion she meant a chairs ability to minimize pressure and maximize support on your back. Honestly you just sound but hurt because of the pricing lol.

Mustard Tiger do you rest your elbows or forearms on the arm rests? do you have a keyboard wrist rest? are you typing with your wrists on the desk? is your desk up too high, or too low?

DXRacer chairs are tacky garbage. They're ugly gimmicks made to appeal to 20 somethings who are fooled by the ~$300 price tag.

Sampling Reality Because the Ikea Markus is still considered to be a cheapo chair in the ergonomic chair realm. I've sat in one before. Sure, it's amazing for the price, but nothing compared to the $800+ chairs.

So uh.....don't buy a 1k chair for its arm rests..........but then buy the embody (a 1k chair)? I think it's not soo much about the arm rests, it's more about the whole chair. I've never heard someone say that it wasn't a dream to sit in a gesture chair. Unless they were like 6'6. The gesture is somewhat better for average to shorter people, primarily because of back length differences. 6'6 is not by any means average. On top of that it's built like a tank. Solid, smooth transitions, no creaking or squeaking. A chair is more than a soft bottom. If I wanted just a soft seat, I could literally buy one of those 10 inch thick foam beds for $600 and turn it into 10 chair seats and backings, but they won't have the same ergonomics in the long run. Also the embody is just hideous.

C North ik, but when I went on their site (If it was like this dunno can't remember) without armrests was like 400-600 can't remember (will look when I got time) and just by adding those arm rests it went up to 1k. I have a mesh chair for 150 gbp and it's really good.

I know right fucking 300 for a chair gtfo 100 bucks is enough for an awesome chair.

***** Right we are ultimately talking about purchasing a comfy chair over something like a cheap laptop, somethign just aint right there lol. I refuse to believe fancy fabrics and ect, somehow are more expensive than computer parts.

I upgraded from 150€ normal office chair to AK Racing Nitro (290€) lately, and I can say it is worth it. The chair is much more comfier, looks better and doesn't give me back pains, even if I sit +10 hours on it.

actually that might not work for ppl who dont use a trackball mouse like me
