@@robloxcodepaster but is that even true? PCs overall have a wider variety and are much less restricted than consoles, you can also find a good gaming pc for 500-600 bucks. In all honestly, paying even an extra 500 for a pc over a console is a much better choice imo.
@@robloxcodepaster also new gen consoles can sometimes need incredible WiFi just to work properly. Personally me and everyone I’ve spoken to with a new gen console suffer connection and lag issues with even 5G WiFi and a great connection, whereas when I switch to the same game on my OFFICE laptop I receive no lag whatsoever. In all honestly after a couple tweaks my office laptop runs better than my Xbox, only downside being the graphics of course.
If I had to choose I would go for PC. Cause I love how I can play games online for free without paying for a subscription. I love how I can mod my games like GTA v. I also use my PC for starting up my business and doing zoom classes and meetings. So PC would be for me.
Want to know the best part? A part in my PC died, but I'm not forced to go out and get a brand new PC as I can still technically use my PC in it's current state, or since it is so modular, I can swap out the part

I mean wow litarlly does that same exact same thing. Now I play cod so I don't have to pay for a monthly sub just to get some free stuff, camos, charms, etc. But wow, naw. You can't buy the game and just play it no sir-re. I also do believe that there's multiple levels of sub they have as well. My friends try to get me to play it and I'm like naw fuck that. That's litarlly a waste of money monthly and I can put it towards games, electronics, etc. Also wow stands for world of warcraft or whatever.

Consoles i like the fact im playing other people using the same system as me, So its a even playing field oh and less likely to face cheaters since i stay away from crossplay.
Listen, I love PC. I just built a new one and I love it. I put an RTX 4080 and an i5 14600K with 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 4TB SN850X m.2 SSD in mine. I say all of that to say, I LOVE PC. However, it is not even close to being as affordable as console. Even if you don’t go all out, if you’re buying new parts, you will never be able to build a PC that gets similar performance as a current-gen console for the same price. It just won’t happen. PC is for those of us who love gaming to the point that we are willing to spend extra for the great gaming experience! It’s not a smart option at all for people who just care about playing the newest games. There are a lot of benefits to PC (such as the indie marketplace), but it’s simply not cheaper.
Yeah high end PC gaming comes at a price. I mean I have well over $3000 in my tower alone. But I have a full on sim rig around $5000. A console can't do that. I have 6 monitors plugged into my rig. I run all the games on Ultra settings with everything checked even with DLAA. That is the price you pay when you can afford it. People only hate on it when they don't have the budget.
Yeah... Highend PCs are people that actually can afford it. It's the big boys version of freedom. Most people that be complaining about PC problems have the shittiest and I mean the worst PC parts or they just don't do research on which parts is compatible with eachother not to mention there are those other people who think it's okay to neglect their PCs of maintenance or cleaning.
Only true if you are using brand new parts. However, if you use second hands parts, then you can build a PC that will be on par or better than consoles for less than or close to 500$. Linus Tech Tips recently made a video on this.
I will say, i do miss not being obsessed with hardware. Since building a PC in 2017, i have become obsessed with all the new goodies. I kind of miss the mindless bliss of consoles.

one thing I love about PC is that "generations" don't exist. you don't need leftovers in the form of remasters and ports you can just play some of the oldest games just like that
Have both, and actually i enjoy play in console. But in some case i more enjoy play in PC, because i can alt+tab, listen music, join voice chat discord, gaming and do work at one device, and play RU-vid or Googling when gaming. When you have long holiday console really become your best friend. But when your already have tight schedule for work and little time for gaming PC will help in this case.
Why do people still complain about drivers lol? Not only will most software automatically notify you, you can go months without updating and still be fine! I hung back on an old nvidia driver because newer ones introduced a bug and stayed on it for about six months until it was fixed, no issues.

I have both, but with consoles you just open the new game and play. A PC might force you to install other software just to get them to work such as EA, Steam, Epic, etc, set up sound and graphic settings, check if your equipment meets minimum requirements before even buying a game.
The “downsides” you listed are minor ones at most. It takes 5 minutes to download and set up Steam. Piracy also works, preinstalled games work wonders. Checking if your equipment is compatible? Genuinely confused on how you think this is a notable downside. It takes a few seconds to read. And, your equipment WILL be good enough to run said game, assuming you spent more than 200$. Setting up sound and graphic settings. You have to do this on console too. This is not a downside, just settings. How the fuck do you include settings as a downside? I own a PC and a PS4. I can safely say PC gaming is MUCH better for my wallet. It’s also more convenient, as I can do my work and classes on my PC.
Ive never had a console, but i get why people prefer a console. Its much more simple than a pc, you just buy it and play games on it. Most people dont want to modify things. And its cheap.

A console is the upfront cheapest way to get into gaming. while I agree pc is better and every gamer should invest in one if financially able, you gotta remember not every gamers situation is the same.
Whenever i have asked a pc person to build me a pc equivalent to a ps5 specs, they have always claimed its cheaper but never built one thats cheaper than 900 euros.

DualShock and Xbox controllers are purposefully built terrible so you have to go and buy more of them, and they are getting worse for every newer and newer generation of console. Console gamers are so comfortable with playing on 60hrtz TVs anyways why not play a computer on a 60hrtz TV. What’s the point of speakers, monitors and TVs have speaker in them, most people likely already have a headset lying around to use not like anybody uses the console’s complimentary earbud that they give you when buying.
Also depends on the game tho...for example that stupid final fantasy game still requires a subscription... But I get what you're saying. Sony and Nintendo are crazy.
Let’s be fair. You can build an equivalent spec machine if you buy some used parts and know what you’re doing. You’re not going to Best Buy and leaving with a PS5 killer for $500. You don’t build/buy a pc because you want a console experience. It’s because you want more. Part of building a PC is the building, optimizing, tuning, upgrading, and maintaining of it. You buy a PS5 to go ooooo when you open it and never think about it again. It’s like a tv. It’s there and you appreciate it, but your relationship is that you just use it.
While I play on all platforms (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC), I main Xbox, personally. It's the most comfortable gaming space/community and it's where I have the most games at. Every platform has its advantages and disadvantages. The "best platform" will *always* be the space a given Gamer prefer to play at. There is no logic in debating this.
You can honestly only argue about the price, where consoles should win for performance, if you look at them as plain computers (because companies don't make a profit off the hardware). But that doesn't mean much, because it's evened out by more expensive games and accessories. So the more accessories and games you buy, the cheaper the PC gets. But what is ultimately best for someone depends on way more than the price, so the argument which is best is completely pointless indeed.
@@samelosito The games I buy on Xbox are just as cheap as the ones I buy on PC. There is no price difference between the two. I am sure that was true in the past, but that is not my experience. You can argue any point you want, honestly. But the end result is what I said it would be: the best platform will always end up being your preference. There is no debating this. An, iin too many instances, even when PC games are cheaper, the difference between the two is so minimal as to make it inconsequential. For example: One of my favorite games from last generation: Assassin's Creed Unity. A year after it dropped, I was able to get the game, digitally, for $1.32 off of CDKeys. On PC, I found it for $0.78 instead. Was it cheaper on PC? Yeah. It was. By like fifty cents or so. And you know what? I got that bad boy on Xbox instead, because what's fifty cents? This is why I don't view game prices as an objective measure, either. Because the variables are far too vast for me to do so. But to each their own, though.
Same for me. I think both are amazing systems on their own but just not having to do all the troubleshooting necessary to get my games up and running is why I prefer consoles.
Its PC mAsTeR rAcE until you have to trouble shoot to play games, figure out why your PC is crashing, or you get BSOD, or have to optimize your own settings to play. On top of that, you need internet access to play the games you purchased. My internet went out for about 2 weeks and couldn't play the steam games I bought without internet. Thankfully i had my xbox and ps5.

Whats nice about console its just plug and play, dont have to worry about anything, and if your pc breaks your on your own. For me console is just overall a better experience and this is coming from someone who uses both.
What I'm trying to say here is that if your console breaks the company that made it will take care of it and fix it. You don't need to have prior knowledge for consoles. With PC though there're hundreds of things that can go wrong and no one is going to help you fix it. Console is just overall more user friendly.
PC gaming is great yeah high fps beautiful graphics but I will say console gaming the games are optimized a hell of a lot better and run smoother on newer generations of consoles not to mention les game crashes faster loading times idk these next Gen consoles are catching up to PCs real quickly.
The more knowledgeable I became with technology in general, the more I realized that console gaming is just the layman's way of being able to play games (I don't mean that in an offending way, I've owned many consoles over the past two decades) it's just being a PC primary for the past 10 years has shown me the strengths and weaknesses in full effect. If you know hardware and you know software, you know PC gaming is the most open ended experience, especially today. When, where and how you want quite literally. PC is emulating Nintendo games better than their console can play them itself for crying out loud... I mean 🙃
You have to put so much into a pc in order to have great quality to compete and on top of that pc come with a lot of software issues and updates because it’s not typically designed to run some of the popular games that console players play
Naw, you could build that for $230-250 easily going used parts. maybe only good for 1080p now, but 6 months down the line you could put a better used graphics card in and sell the old card and make some money back. If people can crypto mine for 24/7 and their cards still work after years of use then I don't see any real risk in getting moderately used hardware. Especially with ebay's money back guarantee and paypal's protection program, It's very unlikely you get scammed unless you purposely ignore all the red flags in a post.(price waaay too good to be right but only having card as a payment method, title and description not matching, photo of a different product) Facebook Marketplace is a good option too
The 1080ti is as good as a 2060 or rx 6600xt in lots of games. That's the gret thing about pc gaming, you get a super expensive baller pc and you're set for set for at least 7 years of new releases. The 1080ti is around 6 years old now and should still be able to put up a good fight for a few more years to come with tools like fsr getting better and better

With all the mods and options on pc it’s more impressive for a 6-7 year old gpu to hold its own against newer AAA titles than a console with a limited amount of games that allow for the type of video settings you get on pc. It’s nice the console is still doing good but that’s to be expected since consoles are supposed to last long. PC parts as well but since there’s more customization there’s always new and better versions of old hardware.
I stay pc exclusive, for many reasons, especially due to upgradability, mod support in games or just using the console. Map editing in tons of stuff. Also pretty much the whole RTS genre is forgotten about on console. An entire genre! I got my Gog library full of games i can tweak in many ways using DGvoodoo, unofficial patches, same thing on Steam some singleplayer titles. I use emulation if i need to play console exclusive, currently using Xenia. So highest i can go is Xbox 360 (or Ps3) for now i guess.
Man, don't you love it when consoles upscale from 480p to 4K. Looks though like people don't care as long as they can say it runs at "4K". I wonder where Nvidia got the idea of ditching performance improvements for below 1080p upscaling.
I just went on PCPartPicker and set up a PC build with a 5600, RX 6600, 16GB of RAM, and a 1Tb NVME SSD. That should handily outperform a PS5 and have all of the features of a PC, and it was $600, but I could’ve totally gone down to $500 if I hadn’t overspeced and still beaten the PS5.

For $300 you definitely aren't getting the same performance as a ps5 let alone an Xbox series x. Even with $500 you have to buy a lot of not all of used parts to get close to PS5 performance. A used PS5 cost $250-$400. It's getting close but the initial buy in for PC gaming is still too high for the average person.
PC gaming is about the same as a console, but the biggest issue is that a PC is way too complicated. A console runs good straight out of the box and you don't need to know what a driver or BIOS is or how to update them.
Yeah the only problem is the most PC gamers are like Dream stans when someone just MENTIONS that they play on a Console (I literally have a fight with a dude who claims that no one plays Minecraft Bedrock and i just said you literally can play it on Mobile, Ps4/5, Xbox and Nintendo Switch, He said a Pc takes up less space than a Ps5 lmao)

It literally takes 10 minutes to learn and do either of those things and is a massive positive over a console due to the features it allows. Learning that also provides valuable knowledge for any job that requires the use of a pc.
The current consoles are near impossible to beat price to performance if just for gaming. I guess you could match their price is you wanted to play at 720 upscaled to 1080p. Because of how they are designed and how devs can optimize for them you would need a R5 7600 and RX 6800 to keep up with them. Now the previous generation had terrible hardware and nearly anything could match them. But for 1440p 60fps with high settings in current gen only games you can't do that with a $500 PC.
Not true rx 6800 is 16tflops wich is way more than series x 12tflops ps5 10tflops and series s 4tflops closest gpu to match to ps5 is rx 6700 with 11 tflops,closest gpu to match series x is 6700 xt 13tflops and closest to series s is rx 6500 xt 5 tflops
@@anonymous16472 yes but you will have to use CPU or GPU decompression to bypass PC not having a dedicated io component to decompress and stream assets from the SSD to the shared memory. Will also have to use some brute force to make up for the lack of optimization. All ps5s have the same hardware so it's easier to optimize around. PC has a huge range of hardware. While the 6700 does match up best to the consoles when looking at raw specs alone, the optimization and better designed hardware in it's APU more than makes up for that. You will not be running current gen only games at 1440p/4k at 60fps/30fps on equal hardware (3700x and 6700) on PC. Consoles typically punch above their weight. That's why you keep up with them you need to brute force and have better specs then they have. Now with the previous gen consoles anything could brute force past their hardware that was weak even in 2013 when it launched. Current consoles are actually very well designed for gaming and moving massive amounts of assets quickly.

It's just the first time in a long time that consoles where so good when they launched. The PS4/XB1 gen was super easy to beat. But the same thing as now pretty much happened when the 360 came out.

I'm having such a hard time making the switch :( I'm a dinosaur that still enjoys seeing all my physical games on the shelf. Additionally, a few times Ive tried to play single player games that somehow wouldn't boot up unless I had a net connection ( I was on a plane with my steam deck). Someone told me this wasnt a PC issue but a digital game issue. Sucks either way
Definitely a lot easier to program for console because you don't need to code for those different configurations. DX12 and other layers help, but as we know from pc game launches, it takes some time to optimize. Now with console, PS more so, allowing keyboards and mouse along with games enabling it I think is the turning point if more games follow suit to have both. I bought a ps5 just for that reason as most of the games I play support it. To be fair you will get better performance with a good enough PC as you can adjust settings significantly more like, locking FPS, turning down to bear minimum, or opposite and look even better.

A lot of people will argue, "Consoles are better for XYZ reason(s)!" Consoles have some things. Convince is a big factor. I will give consoles that. Plug in a power cord, plug in an HDMI, and you're set. PC, however, has a lot. Especially since consoles have shitty versions of apps, youtube, netflix, HBO, ETC. PCs have to install 1 app, aka Google Chrome, and we get access to all of it. Plus, PCs have the convince of "oh, one part broke? Let me go buy that one part and replace it." Over consoles who either have to go buy a new one, or if under warranty, wait for that replacement. Plus, PCs can do a whole lot more than consoles. Need to write an email? PC can do it. Need to use a second, maybe even a third or fourth screen without a phone? PC can do it. Most console players dont realise having multiple screens for multitasking without a phone is a huge advantage. Plus, in time, you're paying just as much, if not more, in subscriptions than you are for a decent gaming PC with similar to better specs than your console. This is coming from a person who owns and plays both PC and consoles.
Also consoles will lose support for online gaming entirely absolutely forcing you to upgrade but if you don’t want to or can’t you don’t have to either pc (except software if it’s forced)
Also on the market place side, you also get specialty markets. I never buy old games on steam, because GoG prides its self on their games working out the box. Even including fan launchers and patches if needed.
Consoles will always win if you compare it with a Pc of the around the same price range. Also Consoles new are the 300-500 and Pc with new components are atleast 800-1000 with the same amount of performance therefore consoles are gonna live longer.
Im a pretty big "frame snob" and i bought an insane rig for 989$ my first build ever was a Frankenstein optiplex 3020 with a full size gtx 1070 i paid $300 for and it lasted years. All about your preferences and budget pc gaming is expensive as you make it
They didn't really try hard enough to defend console. Didnt talk about user friendlyness. Didnt talk about free games. Didnt talk about playing classic exclusives. Didnt talk about a more even playing field on console than pc.
PC building is all about being able to afford what you can pay. If you can dish out 1k for your budget, then you're willing to build something that can last several generations of hardware.
I prefer consoles because they’re just easier to move about and require less maintenance. I have an Xbox Series S and it performs better than my older PC I bought back in 2017 for $800… my Xbox was worth about $400.
@@BabyMessi_ this was during the release of them so yea they were a bit higher priced thanks to scalpers and what not. Also I did mention this is my preference so there’s no need to defend PCs. I own quite a nice one (even tho the 2080ti in it is heavily outdated) I just prefer consoles because I like controllers more and all games on it support them.

@@tmssinc.1578 I respect both consoles and PCs for their own uses but I have always preferred the PC because of emulation(I’m an avid Zelda fan ) and being able to play switch games at 4K 60 fps is significantly better experience than on the switch.

Honestly dude the whole GPU driver thing? GeForce experience keeps my RTX 3060 updated automatically for me and doesn’t even require a restart. My old Xbox series s would need 20 minutes just to apply a patch.
With some downscaling and optimisation? So it didn’t work like a console. I love my pc but let’s not make out that the initial cost of entry is equal between a pc and a console for equivalent performance.
console often use dynamic resolution and dynamic graphics settings with minimal impact on visual to keep the game run at 60fps/120fps so it is valid to have some optimization on the pc
These days consoles are essentially excellent budget PCs. You sacrifice the customization and modularity but you get consistent experience across any title you wish to play and great performance for the value. That being said they have to cut corners somewhere and the reason I don't touch my Series X anymore is solely because the weaker wifi chip makes online gaming a miserable experience.
