Their constant use of codes and then explaining what the code means annoys me. Though this video implies that the code might be a call sign and that makes more sense.

@@baval5 The Codes for the Watchpoint Alpha and "The System" of PCA. The System is the AI that governs access to Rubicon and is the head Commander of PCA put in place as a political decision. If it's not obvious, you face off with PCA helicopter chasing you due ot illegal entry you have just made in first mission before you yoink Raven's callsign for yourself. They have to be disciplined because the AI is what commands them and they have to match it for the entire PCA to function proper.

@@DayOfCasual Being disciplined has nothing to do with them constantly calling in codes and then saying what they mean anyway. Either they know what the codes mean which they clearly do so theres no reason to explain them, or they dont and so theres no reason to even say the code. They dont have to say "code 115. Target for elimination spotted" they can say either "Code 115" or "Target for elimination spotted".

For those who need clarification, Nightfall Raven is the successor of the dead Raven you find on the first mission. They are not the same people.

Not really, pilots don't always die with the AC, sometimes they eject beforehand. Nightfall Raven IS the Raven, he and his group allude to it with the "621 can't get far on borrowed wings". If he wasn't OG Raven, then it wouldn't make sense since he'd also be on borrowed wings and they literally say you can't get far using fake license. Unless you're the Demon of Pilots like 621, of course.@@silbury2325

@@silbury2325 That seems unlikely - even outright false - given the short timeframe between when that wreck had to be there to still have a good license, and when we pick up the mantle. Raven also has 2 allies (part of Branch) that fight alongside them in the later playthroughs (though Raven shows up late) who are also pretty big about calling us an imposter. Seems very unlikely someone else would have a rep that big and have done that much in the small window there. I'd love to see evidence to the contrary if you have it, but everything in the story points to there only being 2 "Ravens" present in the story at all - the original (who left a wrecked AC behind and was presumed dead/MIA), and the player (C621). It gets way too convoluted (and not in the usual way From does) otherwise and less meaningful. Walter even flat out says, when you fight Raven at the starport, that this is the pilot you took the ID off and that it was a hassle but now you need to deal with it. Everything Raven's Operator says to you during that they have no interest in claiming the name you stole from them back and that they simply wish to see how far you can go using their name.

​​@@SmoocheeWallacenah allmind didnt even knew who he was, however i think a pretty solid theory is that he was working for carla's group and knew her ultimate goal, his whole ac was custom built by r&d and we know he doesnt care about rubicon liberation front otherwise he wouldnt plunge the planet into a massive war, i think his goal was to burn the coral, cinder carla also has some pretty big reasons to burn the coral, but she doesnt tell us why, like walter wants to avenge his friends and coworkers and put the fires of ibis all to rest, we know carla as a "cinder" is a survivor from the fire which can explain why she wants to burn it all, she probably watched everyone she knew be consumed by it

@@Kazuhira2249 It is kind of hinted that carla was professor's Nagai assistant, alongside Walter's father. Professor Nagai is the one that caused the fire of Ibis to prevent coral being released into space and multiplying and mutating endlessly throughout it. And walter and Carla are finishing his mission.

He probably leaked the existence of Coral to the corporations but the mysterious part is his intention. We know that previous Raven was working with the other 3 members in Branch but they are very vague and we don't know what their goals are. But they're certainly fighting for something because we know that Raven is a champion of free will and has to have some higher goal. He's not just a mercenary fighting for creds

I believe the leak was the coral having survived the Fires and still being present.

But in the “Defend the Space Port” mission, Walter says that we’re fighting the license’s original owner and Raven’s operator identifies 621 as the mercenary who stole their name. Both referring to when 621 took the downed AC’s license at the start.

​@@VictorIV0310I redo the tutorial mission, the AC that we found the Raven license is actually the Nightfall Raven's AC. I think Nightfall Raven abandoned his AC before it got destroyed, just like when we fight Igunzu and destroyed his AC but he is still alive somehow.

now that you mention it nightfall raven tipped the corporations about coral, but where did he get the info? walter in other hand, is an overseer. he certainly have intels about it thanks to his "friends" it's possible walter anonymously requested a survey "raven" accepted it and was defeated but he survived and spread the intel as payback after a while, walter sent 621 to where "raven" was defeated to pick up the ID

@@Saihamaru The only part of that timeline that doesn't work is he doesn't send you there to find Raven's callsign specifically. He wants you to just get any ID and Raven's just happens to be the one you find. He seems surprised by it (but he does seem to recognize it).

I experienced a glitch where I got stuck inside one of the PCA ships, which caused me to die when it exploded.

Tried it and nothing special happened. The devs didn't foreseen that we would do something like that. Or perhaps Raven's fighting style is so specific that we don't quite match it and it becomes apparent that it's not him.

An AC build may match what they have on file for whoever this Raven person is. But a combat log isn't just a parts list.

Nightfall Raven fights in a very specific way. BOOM BOOM, SHANK It'd be very obvious for the PCA to pick up on that

Generally I think it’s because our AC’s were in better condition to fight the cataphract, and also because it’s the main target and not just an unknown enemy that pops up out of nowhere like it did in the trailer. 617 and the others were underprepared to fight it and resulted in their deaths.

@@Ko-165 Being fair, dialogue across the game also is pretty clear that 621 is punching WAY above his weight and is abnormally skilled.

@@Ko-165 i don't think they are underprepared... it's more probable that walter knows the limit of his hounds and send them fully prepared to lose them if it means he can make way for 621's descent to rubicon proof? they never sounded panicked at all in the trailer even when they lost 1 AC on the way

@@Saihamaru that might just be Walter's Jaded nature coming into play, considering they were dealing with a high powered station level railcannon, and chain guns usually aren't the best weapon for a frontal assault against something like the Cataphrat, where shotguns, snipers, and burst damage style weapons would be realistically more useful against something that has a weakspot that needs to be hit fast and hard before it moves away. lots of people think that the reason why people feel sorry for you when it's mentioned you are Walter's hound is because shit like this happens constantly, though Walter seems to be more unlucky with this kind of shit, but ultimately will get the job done, with enough AC's thrown at it. Walter also seems to know what the PCA is capable of, when he says that we and the corps overstepped and got the PCA's attention, and given the likelyhood of the trailer mission, he might of known they had SOMETHING ready for them there, but just not a highly mobile weapons platform that needs a specific kind of build to deal with unless you are someone high ranking within the arena that can adapt to something like this, like perhaps a certain Raven? losing a AC to the cannon was probably expected, and with that unknown factor, having 3 ACs ready to take on the mission was like you said, probably expected, but from a inital look at the builds, it seems no AC was prepared for something like the Cataphract, and only through 621 improvising and a lucky break with getting in close and pusing the chain gun past it's melting point did they succed, and manage to EMP the station weapon

Don't kill them too quickly, there are 3 stages of dialogue. 1. Beginning of fight when they full health 2. When their health at 70% - 60% (not lower than 50%) 3. When their health lower than 50% Let them talk before you down their health xD

@@Saihamaruhe just got shutdown and withdrew from combat, raven prob never entered the arena and always remained anonymous which is prob why he is rank E on it who knows maybe they will make a dlc expanding on his story along with the other independant mercs who knows him (chartreuse and aster crown) arena rank 5 and 3 both seem to respect raven a lot for his combat prowess so him being rank e is prob willingly or maybe there are multiple of them as raven "handler?" says raven is more of a symbol than anything, but i doubt thats the case as raven is actually hunting you also about his "handler" she knows who you truly are, she calls you augmented human, c4-621 so she could know walter which supports the theory that raven was working for carla at some point but i assume walter doesnt know who raven or the woman is as they work in secrecy and somewhat anonymously, also fun fact carla is the one who gave us our starter ac just as raven its all r&d parts but with a more common head instead of raven custom built one

After you hear the “alert” noise from the gun end evade. The shot for those laser weapons comes out when the alert ends so when you do it you’ll 100% dodge them. Might help in the long run cause ng+3 has a lot of those sitting around
