The Columbia River is the largest river in the west. Full on desert in eastern Washington and emerald green, dense forests in the west. Glad you got to see it.
Hood river is the wind surfing capital of the world. Did you get something at the old Char Burger? That’s what the carhop looked like. I grew up in the 70s going to visit my family in hood river. They had a logging business so every male in the family were lumber jacks. They lived on a ten acre farm up the mountain on a dirt road. It’s probably all paved now and I’d probably never recognize the house. My aunt passed long ago and the cousins are all grown and gone and my uncle lives across the bridge in Stevenson WA. But tons of good memories in hood river. Enjoy the zero. I’m sure you did
Hood River had grown, but you'd recognize it right outside the city limits where not much has changed. The south end of the valley, on the flanks of Mt Hood in Parkdale, Odell, and other spots have hardly changed at all.
