Been vacating for awhile up in Oregon so I have some catching up to do. Spent some time at Crater Lake and saw a number of PCT hikers. Good progress.

What a great day. Started with a beautiful lake, had trail magic midday and ended the day with trail angel support and fantastic dinner. You three deserve a little spoiling. Very nice. Thanks for sharing your adventures
Beautiful opening view of the lake by your campsite. Great time at Jerry and Ann's retreat with spaghetti dinner, campfire, Day is Done trumpet solo by Ann (nice embouchure and vibrato Ann), and last but not least, the hiker trash washing machine. That was great.
I'm 6'3" and my wife is 5'4", listening to hazel walk and seeing David's steps reminds me of when my wife and I walk together, she takes 2 steps for every 1 of mine. I feel bad she has to work twice as hard to cover the same distance 😅
I can relate. I'm 5' 7" and sometimes hike with men your height and I always say I have to step twice for every step they take to keep up. I normally tell them to hike on and I'll get there eventually 🙂
I just realized how sad I will be when you finish the hike, as I look forward to watching your videos daily. I'm in your age range and am hiking section J (Stevens pass to Snoqualmie pass) SOBO with my son next week, which will be a test to see if I feel I can take on the entire PCT next year. Has anyone else noticed Joe bears a resemblance the character on "Rawhide" called "Wishbone"? Actor's name was Paul Brinegar. Thanks guys and gals for bringing us along on the trail.
Looked like a pleasant trail through the forest with nice shade. So good that the trail crews keep clearing the blow downs. I was wondering if Ash & Vortex would eventually meet up with the Codgers and now I see that they did. How fun!

You didn't say, but it sounds like you got picked up at NF- 4290. The dirt road just to the north of Charlton Lake. I hope you say on your next episode...I'm curious!
They went over Muir Pass approximately a month ago. They went through the heart of the Sierra from Kennedy Meadows South all the way to Bishop Pass, through all the snow. They then skipped forward to the Quincy, CA area in order to avoid more snow that was slowing them down. They need to reach Canada before the season changes, then they'll go back down and finish the section they skipped.
