That is really hard work. So appreciated by us hikers. Gets really tiring climbing over fallen trees.

@@Travelwithoutplans I was stationed at Casa Vieja, about 10 miles west of the PCT. If you are doing Whitney, there are flat spots just below the trail crest, to pitch a tent. Don't exit Shepard pass. Bishop Pass, not done it , Glacier Lodge was a good spot when I was there. Muir Trail Ranch not been there, Vermillion was worth it when I was there. hot food , booze, hot water, laundry. Reds Meadow was good, store, hot food, showers. I did the JMT.
