In 2023, in spite of record shattering snowfall in the Sierra mountains of California, I am undertaking a thru-hike attempt of the Pacific Crest Trail in an effort to complete my Triple Crown! Follow along as I see just how far the trail will let me go!

My goodness... fall has àrrived in the Washington high country. The foliage is so beautiful! Was hoping the fire closure had been lifted. Nope. Always dryer higher. Great camping spot. Thanks and best...pops

I'm sure you're now enjoying real food and the love and comfort of Mrs. Beat in person. It is sad to think of your journey being over, but I know you're looking forward to rest for your ankle and saying goodbye to your gel nail. Hahaha! Another drizzly day from my hike so thanks for the views I missed. A small point, but I like how you mosey around during your evening report. Makes for a more interesting and dynamic way of doing something that is pretty straight forward normally. Nice work.

Thanks! It's a small thing, but I feel like it's got two purposes-- the first is I think it's more visually interesting and helps set the space in the viewer's mind, the second, a little stranger, is that I feel like it's more respectful to address the viewers from a standing position. Not sure where this comes from, just is what it is. Very rarely do I address to camera while seated, and that's how you know I'm really tired!!

#beatama One more question I forgot to ask: I believe the Canadian regulations allowing exit into Manning Park changed after you departed from Campo. Was it difficult doing the paperwork from trail? Any advice for others? ***** ***** According to your calculations, you've likely exited Manning Park by now. I trust your post-hike travel is going smoothly and you've had no difficulties rendezvousing with Mrs. Beat.

#beatama. I cannot fathom how you have time to hike 25-35 miles/day, pitch camp, eat and then edit and crank out these great videos day after day. The video program/app must be fast, efficient and user friendly. Is it iMovie or something else? Thanks.

I mention that of course they want to be in Stehekin for the game because they are from Alabama (and want to watch their team). The grammar of my delivery may have confused the clauses, but that's what I was trying to communicate anyways! 😉

Today is September 16th so…. I understand the unrest in counting down the days. I’ve counted down retirement, getting out of the military…. At the end it’s uplifting, unburdening, anti climactic and many more. I’d say enjoy every day, but I absolutely know you did.
