I am totally blind from birth I want to thank you for being my eyes on the PCT trail! I do have the assistance of a cited husband, he's wonderful! Been married 36 years! Sally
Tim and Sally - Thank you for your comment - and sharing a little bit about you. It touches the heart. Glad to hear you hubby is a wonderful & 36 yard is something to celebrate and cherish!
@@CarolynsRVLife my 2nd cousin MariAnn, OWNED the water company. ( spring was on her land) she had a beautiful wooden cabin/ house. Will never forget her beautiful hanging Fushia baskets!:)
Carolyn, This video was my absolute favorite of your PCT time. Thank you for these glorious views and view of your challenging trek. Doing that water crossing was a feat!!
Thanks for ALL the WOW views. Spectacular stuff. As for your re-supply delay. More and more I discover that things happen... for a reason. Learning to 'Go with the Flow' here. ; )
The falls are absolutely gorgeous!!!! Love the scenery. It is so much more beautiful than the lava rock stuff you went through. Stay safe and enjoy each moment!
Wow! What beautiful footage you captured. Great job on making it to Mt Hood. What a beautiful area you have arrived to. Keep up the great hiking. I so admire you for your endurance and mental strength. Hugs
The fog is so beautiful! I raised my family in Seattle, then moved to Oaxaca for several years. Now I live in LA. One of the things I miss most about Seattle is the beautiful peaceful fog on a cold morning. Thanks for this video -- lovely.
Really beautiful Carolyn! The water is so crystal clear everything is so green and luscious. I only imagine how wonderful it was to rest or camp there. You sure have making camp down to a science.
Wow you truly are hiking a spectacular trail! Thank you so much for sharing your foggy morning view, it is nothing less than beautiful! You are the epitome of your tag line, be happy, be free and be kind. Again I thank you for sharing!
Thank you Heather for your comment! I love knowing that the time I put into making the videos is worth it when viewers feel they've captured the same "wow" moments that I experienced!
I think this one was my favorite. With all the fog and mist and all the water crossings and gorgeous trails. I love, love, love Ramona Falls too. I will have to watch this one again. So relaxing. Thanks Carolyn 😘 Capone would have loved it. I can't imagine how much you must miss him. He is still in all of our hearts and you are always there too.💕
Wow, the video is really vibrant, clear, bright and intense!? I've heard Washington is very beautiful, but I have never been. Really nice scenery for you to hike through! This is the best video so far! Happy Trails...
Thank you Nano Nano. I probably AM too sensitive about my feelings for Oregon and your perspective really helps me see my perception was most likely truly just mine. Your last comment about still wanting to see my beautiful state genuinely helped this life long Oregonian. I have traveled extensively in my past to many countries, all of which I have admired and learned from. Oregonians are very accustomed to people who say they could never live here secondary to the rain. And I get it! But us O’s also recognize that rain gives us 4 very varied and beautiful seasons. I am never upset by their comments. Because rainy it truly is! I think I was just feeling particularly protective and not wanting anyone to get the perception that Oregon was ‘boring’ or anything less than spectacular. And Carolyn has a mighty, well respected voice, ( at least by the nomads I follow)! And she DID point out to me that it was the Oregon PCT that was boring, not Oregon. And I have only done such a scant PCT hiking, and only around Mt. Jefferson, the Indian reservation near by, and Olallie Lake and all those beautiful lakes along the PCT close by. And all that was prior to illness, about 10 years ago! The forest is ever changing. And I was at Olallie when we were forced to leave secondary to a lightning strike and resulting forest fire near by. I wish Carolyn only the best. And I am truly one of her cheerleaders, doing what she loves, in the way that suits her, experiencing both the agony and the ecstasy of choosing to continuously challenge herself. Me, I’m a scardy cat, could NEVER do (even if I were physically able), the ‘solo’ stuff she does. She rocks. Her videos are spectacular. Her musings and philosophies are always thought provoking. Couldn’t ask for more. Take care both of u. And my special gratitude for both responding and gently providing another viewer’s perspective. I think I just upset Carolyn and that was never my intent. So, again I say how much I appreciate your input, as well as hers.
Oh Carolyn! The scenery is beyond mind boggling! I don't see how you can take your eyes off of it to watch where you're going!! I honestly don't have words...and I'm a writer! Peaceful trekking. ❤
Hi Carolyn❣ WOW What a beautiful video!! I guess some good came out of all that lava rock hiking after all😁👍 And the water is so serene would have rhymed lol
Dear Carolyn, your recent videos have been a true breath of fresh air, and a very calming green mandala on which to focus one's attention. As others have observed, you've improved over the course of your trek; your skin, hair, and figure have all shown the results of your efforts. GOOFY FACT: The Timberline Lodge on Mt. Hood is where the late Stanley Kubrick filmed his version of "The Shining". The authentic hotel where Stephen King stayed while he attended Colorado University, and the location of the NBC production of "The Shining" was the Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. Aaaaaaaand… that's all I got. Stay Carolyn! --Dave
Did anyone notice around 9:20 as Carolyn is breaking camp a deer comes down the hill behind her and as she is getting ready to fold things the deer runs right past her? It was so cool! Loved this part of the hike. Sending positive energy your way. Blessings!
Nice to see flowers, waterfalls, moss. Your videos of Alaska and all over are such memories for you.And you show places that will be changing.Thank you for taking us with you!💖
A long break can be hard to overcome...I can see Washington in that landscape with all the moss on the trees...nice to hear the owls in the background...love your impromptu songs..:o)
Jeezes... Yes I am aware of that Carolyn mentioned in this video that the Landscape is looking more like Washington as she gets closer, and with all the moss in that one area where she filmed it looked very much like what Washington looks like, maybe you could Listen more closely next time before you jump to conclusions!
wow..much nicer views on the trail now...the lava fields with their rugged beauty are absolutely no comparison to real greenery and beautiful wildflowers and yes, all the waterfalls and rivers too...
What an adventure! Right before you cross The Bridge Of The Gods into Washington, be sure to stop at East Wind Drive in in Cascade Locks. Great Burgers!
Hi Carolyn! About your feet! I am now 74 and my feet "no longer" hurt! My feet were killing me! So much so that I thought my destiny was a wheel chair! Back of my legs, heel, bottom of my feet, all of that! Nobody seemed to help! So I began to think about our shoes! They all have heels higher than our toes!!?! Who ever designed us, "didn't" do that! So by humans deciding how we should walk, has now shifted our center of gravity, shifted our hips and spinal relationship and stressed out our lower extremities! Yes, that little lift in our shoes is killing our backs! Our natives Americans believed we should be able to feel the ground to be connected to the spiritual earth! When I was a child we barefoot 50% of our day! I could walk or run over just about anything it was wonderful! I now wear the "flattest", "most flexible" (very important - flexible) shoe I can find! And, I'm doing just fine!! I understand that you're hiking now but start using different shoes and condition yourself! You're feet will start moving across rocks and obstacles etc differently! It will feel good!
I really enjoyed this one I think the most! So spectacular with all the falls, streams, rivers! This is a place I would like to traverse! I like your jacket you sleep with and your sleeping bag. It looks warm but not bulky. I'll have to chk out your gear for those and maybe the socks! I was just gifted some bombas sox and I love them! Never thought I could love sox. I'm getting old. LOL Thank you so much Carolyn for opening up a whole new world to so many of us and inspiring us to push ourselves to be our best selves, to try new things, and not be afraid. God bless!😀🏕🏞🌄🚙👍🏼
I saw the face on that rock wall. Any story behind that? Neat! Also, this video captured some really beautiful scenery, with water falls, fog, snow capped mountains, & people. It's nice knowing you are in a area that is traveled, that if something did happen to a person, there wouldn't be too long of a wait for help?
Not sure, but pretty cool to see it, right? Yes, there are measures one can take to ensure their safety when out here... other travelers do give a sense of security as well. Thank you for your comment!
So beautiful..and your so brave crossing the rivers..you made me giggle when you sang your song "it's beginning to look a lot like Washington..lol 😂..thanks for another awesome video..👍
....You see faces and eye's.... now you've got it 🙌 I saw quite a few in this one...very spiritual area. Gorgeous views with that go pro!! Nice editing!! Great hike!!
