Journey - Live in Houston (November 6th, 1981) - HD Remaster Enjoy! I attended a performance from the same tour in 81 at the Forum in LA, Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! There's only ONE "Voice"!
He’s not Steve Perry and we all know that. Steve left the band for a Solo career, waaay back in the 1990s and they have had multiple replacement singers over the years. Enough people don’t give Arnel credit, but, he’s kept the band alive since 2008. Longer than any of their lead singers.
Those Steve era but his voice singing Journey songs in short time only. same with Steve Augerie..Arnel is going 17 yrs as frontman and he still sounded good
@@justinhorn332 If Arnel sing the right version later you can say he was copying SP goodness!!! He is just doing his job singing the legacy song of Journey. If you dont like this version then dont listen dont watch just scroll up simple as that.
Steve is still alive, I do not have any hate for Arnel he has a awesome voice and was actually found on youtube doing covers of Journey songs. The band was looking for a replacement for Perry who had left the band for a combination of reasons. They had almost given up when someone told them of this kid in the Philippines with the online videos. There is a great Documentary about it called Don't stop Believin': Everyman's Journey. it streams for free on Pluto TV.
I like Arnel, great singer and best for Journey since Steve Perry left. I’m not loving this super slow version of Faithfully however. I’ve seen them live and it’s a fantastic show. And for those who can’t accept Journey without Steve, I totally get it. He’s one of one and nobody can sing Journey songs like he did.
the one thing I do love about this version is Neal Schon's guitar work, but Arnel has sung it better and of course Steve Perry's original rendition is sublime. Britt, highly recommend you check out the original recording.
if anyone thinks Arnel is as good as Steve Perry then play open arms or faithfully side by side and you will hear a massive difference Arnel is just a karaoke version of Steve Perry. Plus strange comments from the reviewer who when reviewing Mother Father and Open arms said Steve Perry was the best vocalist she had ever heard. Now she can't even remember his name
Although this fella does a good job. There is a reason young singers don’t sound the same. They just haven’t gone through the emotions so they can’t draw on that. You should react to the official video for this song.
Gotta love all the Arnel Pineda- Steve Augeri- Jeff Scott Soto haters here. SMH.. The rath you all give to them is uncalled for. Steve Perry left to do his own thing and then his voice had issues, so the band had to replace him. You should listen to the originals, but you don't need to hate on the new guys. The story of Arnel's discovery is great.
Steve Perry is still alive and well! He didn't die... I am praying that one day he will perform with Journey, again! Even if it's just one night, or one song even... I'm so there for it!
Steve quit and was replaced by Steve Augeri and then Jeff Scott Soto until they found Arnel in a Philippines bar band on RU-vid. A real story from rags to riches.
Steve Perry is still alive, his wife passed away from cancer and she's the one who got him back into making music again. Thank you to his wife for that.
I watched him talk about his latest album and he was talking about it and she made him promise that he would share is wonderful voice with the world again and he's back doing it because of her.
@butterflymama0838 I just looked again and yes 2012 and it says they were not married but maybe in his eyes they were. But either way we have her to thank for his return to music, but I wish he would return to Journey
Steve left Journey because of some medical issues in his hip. He didn't go straight away for the surgery and the band got aggravated with him for not getting the surgery so he could start touring again. They split on not so good terms, unfortunately. Arnel is a good singer. Steve is a phenomenal singer. It just isn't Journey without him. Steve had a solo career with a great song about his girlfriend, Sherrie Swafford called Oh Sherrie. You will love it.
It's a very, very high bar to get better than the original Journey version with Steve Perry. I give total respect to Arnel Pineda, his voice is top notch. But, Steve Perry at his best performed such a vocal masterpiece, that wont be matched anytime soon? As good as this is, the original is the much better performance by far. All the best. Cheers.
Imagine how extraordinary this song would sound if you let it play without the constant interruptions. When you’ve got a great song and a masterful vocalist like this, you just gotta let it go and save your comments for the end.
Maybe wrong place to do a request, but Emma Kok did a new song Dancing on the stars with Andre Rieu and he released it as an official video. The introductions are really nice and, as usual, Emma did an amazing performance.❤️❤️❤️
To be honest Arnel is good but for sure he ain't no Steve Perry! But try listening to Deen Castronovo! He's the drummer!! Now I think he's fricken awesome!🤙🏽
Arrnel is NOT "new". He has been with them for 17 years. Steve Perry was with them for a total of 13 years altogether. I've seen them twice and Arnel does a great, great job! Steve Perry did NOT pass away. Geesh. The band had a falling out and Steve went solo and then came back for a few years in the early 90's. You have all kinds of misinformation 🤦🏼♀️🙄
Brit i am so glad that Journey has a good front man after Steve left, and he does wonderful for this NEW generation--but those of us over 40 the only Journey is with Steve Perry....the PDC can have BOTH---lets do this!! Check it out the original official Video with Steve.....
just saw them 2 nights ago - sounded great - steve perry was good in his time - but this guy aint to be dismissed too easily - made the headliners (def leppard) kinda sound like rookies in comparison ....
Don't Stop Believin': Everyman's Journey Everyman’s Journey follows the real life rock ‘n’ roll fairy tale of Filipino Arnel Pineda, who was plucked from RU-vid to become the front man for iconic American rock band Journey.
Check out the original recorded video ❤❤❤❤ Arnel does a great job, the band wanted to tour again, they found him on RU-vid at zero hour when they were ready to give up
He was a Steve Perry fan...when he was young his mom would play Journey all the time. As he got older he would karaoke Journey. Got alot of attention....posted some of his singing...Journey saw it and asked him would be interested in trying out. Steve was recovering from hip surgery because he fractured it. His band mates wouldn't wait. They had 2 other try and toured but both would not sing Open arms. They asked Arnel if he would sing Open Arms...answer was yes...he passed completely...now has been with the group for some tim now. Steve is now working on his own music.
While I agree that Steve Perry is one of the best singers still living and singing, he is having a great solo career. However, both my husband and I feel that Arnel Pineda also has a phenomenal voice, and he puts more emotion into his performances. Thanks for finally putting Journey into the PDC!
Wow he really does sound almost like Steve he really does You know people love this s*** so it doesn't surprise me but I still see the original videos just way more powerful I mean he sounds almost just lagging but the but the original video itself makes it more powerful because it shows the road it's not just somebody else left it shows the original band on stage with Steve with the whole video is about being on the road it makes it more powerful The road is a lonely place but it's magic with the same time❤
The Steve Perry version is SO much better. Please react to that one. I can't listen to his version of their songs, Im always hearing the differences in their vocal quality and style.
Perry left. Journey tried other singers who did not do anything to help them. They were pretty much on life support. They found Arnel on You Tube, and he gave the group a spark they had not seen since Steve Perry’s departure. Too bad lead singers don’t last forever. But Arnel stepped in and helped them become relevant again. Steve Perry likes the guy, that’s good enough for me.
Such a "great slow dance at the prom" song. I think Arnel might be a better front man, though Steve is arguably a slightly better singer... maybe. Sounds like Pineda has just a little bit of raspiness that Steve's uber-pure voice doesn't have. All the haters need to understand - Arnel is Journey's lead singer now. Steve is great, Arnel is also great. Journey is awesome, either way.
Hey that guy is doing a really good job respect to Steve you know absolutely always bro but you know he's paying you good tribute for sure I'm impressed not surprised people love you guys I'm not surprised but he's doing a really good job he'll never be you Steve but he's doing a damn good job respect😂❤❤❤❤
U need to hear Steve Perry singing this song and he's not dead he just went out on his own but he's back with Journey there's nobody that sings like Steve Perry listen to the original live version
Too bad you only react once to every song, but you NEED to hear this song sung by Steve. You would have no doubt about this song. Another great song that is not widely played is LIGHTS and City Of The Angels.😊
Steve … nobody can be Steve- he is the BEST OF THE BEST… But, Arnel does well and Jonathan and Neal searched FAR and WIDE to purposely find someone who sounded like Steve Perry!! That’s why he sounds similar!! There was a guy in between too! Another Steve! Steve AUGERI. He was there about 6 years but Arnel has been there about 17 years. Steve has a big, big following.
Hi Britt, have you hear this song with Steve singing it? If not, please react to it....🙂. Arnel is great, but only one Steve. Btw, there is a very good documentary, callled Dont Stop Believing, a bit over an hour, that explains how Journey found Arnel and followed the band on his first performances n tour. Check it out. Its very good. 🙂. Arnels vocal talents are amazing.
Oh I guarantee you you're going to induct him into the club Steve Perry is a hell of a singer journey as a hell of a bend some of them were my neighbor a when I was young
Either way Neil Sean The lead guitarist is really good I think I told you before that I knew a girl that a new girl that worked at Kentucky fried Chicken I knew her family and our hometown and she was just doing her job and Neil Sean walked in and he asked her out on a date and they got married and I knew her family so I ended up knowing him a lot of fun hanging out you know just a kid yeah it was an interesting time and an interesting place and it was pretty cool no doubt a lot of other rock star lived in our little town too it was very small but it was very famous place and it was on the way that everything that was bigger so it would just happen to be anyway Santa Cruz California I mean I lived in Oakland in LA and blah blah blah but Santa Cruz was a f****** awesome place to grow up You be surprised I'm at Neil diamond cuz he got a flat tire on the side of the highway and he decided to get beer and pizza and I met him at one pizza place at the other end of town when I was 14 I was washing dishes for beer and pizza for my uncle and I ended up managing the place when I was 16 I had an opportunity to buy it for $185,000 that I didn't have it now it's worth like 3 million but Ozzy and Randy stopped over they they was a Denny's next door in the gas station so they were going to fuel up the bus and then never going to go to Denny's and I was in the back washing dishes I heard the story later they said yeah they were out there playing afterwards my my uncle said hey John come out here there's some people that want to meet you and play afterwards with you and pinball and s*** and it was Ozzy Osbourne and Randy Rhodes when I was 14 so we played ashwoods and let them make their own pizza and we drink beer and we went in the back room and half the reason that business was alive is because we were doing things out the back door so it's perfect so we actually made some money off of them and we had a good time together haha I've been to Carlos Santana's house in Aptos California at the top of the hill Alfred Hitchcock lived in our town That's where they filmed the birds they made the fence connection there they made the lost boys there as a matter of fact the bridge they jumped off into the fog I was throwing up by three Mexicans for a car stereo it is a panty drop but the ones better with Steve the original video
I was also neighbors with Bradley from sublime we miss you buddy that was f****** tragic I understand but bro we miss you badly and Lou dog too You might want to check out some sublime it's a cross between reggae and ska and rock they talk about the riots in LA and it's really positive it's really upbeat sublime is the f****** one of the greatest bands that ever came about is too bad that we lost Bradley so soon I mean you have to listen to it I can't explain that's that's one band that can explain to you You just have to check out sublime cuz they're s*** f****** kicks ass.
