Bernie Sanders yeah i have. But the match of 2016 had a lot more drama, so it's still the best match imo. although the match of 2017 was high class aswell.
This game was a proof why Barney will still be a thing for a long time in PDC. There are so few players that can stand against Mikey when he's in his best. Barney proved he can. And I almost smashed my TV when Barney lost to Lewis. But the much I wanted him to go on and win the tournament, maybe we have to agree that Gary Anderson was the one who deserved the title most.
I recently got into watching darts and for a while I only knew the modern day angry and depressed Barney. I wasn't a fan. Now as I got back watching old matches I've become a Barney Army guy. Love this stuff.
A lot of people who started watching darts in the last couple of years think Barney is a piece of shit. But they should also watch his 1998-2010 matches. Magic stuff
@@johan2141 Yes, but to me this proves that Barney should have retired 3 years earlier. For me Barney will be remembered as a not too good player, who is depressed, has a negative body language and just is a negative person. Because that's what he was especially in his last year. The Barney who won 5 world titles was gone at the end. He was world class till at least 2010 and also sometimes afterwards. But he clearly missed the right moment for retirement.
This was the peak era of darts, for me. MVG, Barney, Gary Anderson and Taylor all in their prime. No one these days are at the standard these guys were back then
Two of my favourite darters going at it for just over an hour absolutely brilliant thank you RVB congratulations on a great career enjoy your retirement my friend... Barney Army forever!
Man.. Imagine if van Gerwen could have pulled some amazing darts in that last set. When he was 2-0 down. He started coming back with a 10 darters. Started with a 174. Wish he could have get that leg with 12 or less aswell. That would have made it for me the best match of all time. Showing your best darts when the pressure is at hes highest point.
here is a song i thought of -In the world of darts we all know his name he is called Raymond Van Barneveld and he can play the game wherever he goes he will be all the range because he is the Sensation of the game Barney BARNEY you know when you play him your going to be in for a match
Brilliant game both of them were on fire personally I would of liked van Gerwen to win but Barney showed why he was one of the greatest ever darts players 🇳🇱🇳🇱🎯🎯
0:33 Volgens mij had ie er zin in aan het begin van de wedstrijd. If Barney can become W-Champion this year it'd be the most epic win ever, he'd have to get past Adrian Lewis, then Phil Taylor, then MVG and then he still needs to win the final against whoever is left (expecting Wright or Chisnall).
yeah, I know (that's why I called it epic if he would, winning from an underdog position, mission impossible). He would have had a much better chance on the other side of the draw with Wright and Chisnall. Not expecting too much from Gary Anderson this year the way he's been playing lately, too erratic. His match against Kim Huybrechts at the Grand Prix also comes to mind. It all went the wrong way for Barney when Kyle Anderson cancelled for the Player's Championships Finals, which put Barney on the side of the draw with MVG in the QF (at the PCF), and he needed a SF, which was easier when he was on the other side of the draw before Kyle Anderson cancelled. If he had made it to the SF (also through Lewis in that case) he would have reached ranking 11 and seeded 11th for the WC, which would put him on the side of Wright and Chisnall at the WC. Now he's on the mission impossible side of the draw, where all previous WChampions that are also playing well are (not considering Anderson on the other side, as explained). Wright and Chisnall have a real good chance to make it to the final (if Chisnall doesn't beat Anderson first, Wright will and it'll be Wright in the final, probably a boring MVG vs Wright repeat; I'd rather see a Phil Taylor vs Barney repeat and revanche for 2009, that contest was not properly settled, it's 1-1 in WC-finals). I'm actually thinking it might be Chisnall in the final because we already had a Scottish winner last 2 times in a row (bit of a weird reason unless you consider something I don't really want to get into). MvG winning vs Phil in the SF. MvG winning in the final as well. Perhaps Barney will get a match against Phil in the QF, but that might be Adrian Lewis vs Phil instead. Chisnall vs Wright in the other SF after Chisnall beats Klaasen in the 3rd round and Anderson in the QF. I also guess we're going to see Gerwyn Price vs Wright in the 3rd round and Wade will probably have to make place for someone else before the QF, perhaps it'll be Wright vs West in that QF. And Gurney vs Suljovic in the 3rd round, then Suljovic vs MvG in the QF. I also think there's a big possibility Barney will be replaced in the Premier League because of all this, he's gonna lose a lot of prize money where his competitors for the Premier League have good draws and/or little to defend. I'm most worried about Thornton playing ahead of Barney in the Premier League when the 2nd Dutchie becomes Klaasen. Which would be a real shame with the Premier League now finally having an event in Holland (and the fact that Barney is better than Thornton with even a better chance at winning than Klaasen). Barney's first part of the draw before Lewis isn't that much better with Robbie Green (capable of 100+ averages in short matches, especially against Dutchies) and recent 9-darter and German Darts Championship-winner Alan Norris. It really is mission impossible. If you know your darts players and WC-history, just look at that list: Robbie Green, Alan Norris, Adrian Lewis, Phil Taylor, MvG and then Anderson/Wright/Chisnall in the final. Compare that with the draw for Michael Smith (who now is seeded 11th instead, which really should have been Barney's spot): Ricky Evans (who?), King (a has been)/West (not broken through yet, 1 easy win against Phil in a short Grand Prix match), Wade (if he doesn't get beaten by Beaton with his crappy 91 average on average), Wright (never won a major yet), Chisnall (never been beyond the last 16 at the WC yet, since this would be a SF already this would be completely unfamiliar territory for him, nerves, etc. Barney would have had an advantage on that front) or Anderson (not at his best, looks vulnerable), MvG in the final (but perhaps Phil Taylor, my dream final as a Barney fan, I need something to make up for the carnage in 2009, MvG can never do that for me, it has to be Barney; _then_ MvG can start racking up his WC-title count). I guess there's a slim possibility Barney will be replaced by Kim Huybrechts in the Premier League but then Kim would have to win against Phil at the WC I guess and then maybe the QF as well. It's more than likely he'll be ranked above Barney after the WC though, as will Benito vd Pas who has an easy 1st round draw compared to Robbie Green and a reasonable one for the 2nd round (Terry Jenkins compared to Alan Norris for Barney, if they both make it just as far, Benito will be ranked ahead of Barney, Benito does have Anderson compared to Barney's Lewis for te 3rd round, even though Anderson looks vulnerable, I don't think Benito will be the one to beat him, so I see Benito as less of a threat to Barney's Premier League position, the selection is not all about ranking anyway but significant results; and then Barney probably has a slight advantage and if he'll beat at least Lewis he will probably still be ahead of Benito in the ranking, assuming Benito can't get past Anderson). But it'll be very hard for Barney to overtake Thornton in the ranking, so that's why I see Thornton as the biggest threat for Premier League positions, even though he has no significant results this year (I hope the PDC people will weigh this heavily upon choosing). Pretty sure Suljovic, Klaasen and Chisnall will be in the Premier League but they are not the ones threatening Barney's Premier League spot as in the closest competitors. Thornton, Smith or Huybrechts will also not be ranked above any of those 3 after the WC.
The honest option when the chant is 'Stand up if you love your darts', is to stand up! To make all the honest people sit down the chant is, Stay stood if you understand how they're thrown.
MvG: I'll show you I'm the best right now RvB: You forgot that I started the Dutch playing darts Me: Thank you both for an incredible display of Pro darts 🎯
Mit Raymond van Barneveld ist einer der letzten großen Walk on aus der Pdc verschwunden.ich bedauere es sehr das dieser große Sportsman in den Ruhestand gegangen ist . Sehr sehr schade
Classic game. Unfortunately (for the Dutch) Barney lost against Lewis in the semis (and shouldn't have). Barney was absolutely fantastic in this game against MvG, though.
even amateur dart player like me is capable score high points and make high checkouts. the difference is between me and them is I am capable do it sometimes, they do it entire season / career.
