Great video, and very helpful! I've got a question about the color wheels. Do they ever go bad, or need replacing? I just put 2 new OEM lamps in my DHT-100L's but the yellow just isn't popping. I've gone through all of the different color presets, but still no luck. Just testing on a white wall so that could be part of it, but I'm wondering about those color wheels and if they need replacing. If so, do you have a supplier you recommend? Many thanks!
They do wear out. They can have rotation problems or in your case, have a loss of color from the dichroic coating wearing out from heat/IR/UV. They are fairly easy to find. You may need to rebuild the carrier with a bare wheel/motor. You can try the folks I use. Time electronics. gydz@timeprojectorlamp.com also ebay. I would not worry about OEM/aftermarket. This is old enough where OEM wont really be a viable (or cost effective) option and most aftermarket color wheels are perfectly fine. There isn't anything all the special to a color wheel so its not hard to make.
Meu está com problema, liga a lâmpada e desliga e seguida e liga a luz azul SHUTTER, e não fica ligado a lâmpada? Já teve esse defeito? Sou do Brasil, cidade de São Paulo
Hi Karl! It might be. It sure looks a lot like it. This model is prior to the Panasonic purchase of Sanyo but maybe. I have a ptdz570 kicking around. I'll compare the lenses.
Thats a good question. They are selling for $800-1200US right now so likely in that range. It has a long throw lens which itself is worth probably more than the projector but I'm not looking to split them up. This is probably not remotely helpful to you though... Are you looking for this model? We could work something out I am sure. I have an email listed in the about section if you want to contact me off the comment section.
I got one but the no picture with grey horizontal grit line , lamp show ok. It started ok with picture but it turn to horizontal grit line after 2 to 3 minutes after playing.Do you know what is the problem
Hi John, Im not really sure. I do know these have power supply issues but yours sort of sounds like something else. Id suggest verifying all the connections on the side modules that take the input signals. Then check the power supply for bad capacitors, not the electrolytics but actually the ceramic caps near the voltage regulators. also bad solder on the power supply is common. Bad solder or another bad connection sounds plausible.
Problem like vertical line on certain area, after few minutes picture will freeze..by the way lamp signal need to replace. Could it be the lamp problem?
probably not. A lamp wont cause vertical lines. It is only bright white light. I think there are 2 problems for you. The lamp should be changed but I would find the bad connection/cause of the vertical line. there is a chance it is a bad connection at the DMD. The service manual is available for free online. They have a very comprehensive troubleshooting section. I would suggest starting there and figuring out the DMD issue before spending the money on a new lamp assembly.
Hello Aaron, Here is a link to the manual. www.projectorcentral.com/pdf/projector_manual_4774.pdf The steps start on page 60. This is accomplished through the menu. I would describe it here but hte icons in the manual make it easier to understand. Keep in mind if the filter has scrolled all of the way, it will not reset as it cannot advance the filter. You may need to take the filter apart, clean it, and roll it back. Keep that in mind.
FixitFrank thank you for the assistance. It appears the projector has something more significant wrong with it as I followed all your steps but continue to get the orange filter warning light and red lamp light. The command will have to result in buying a new one. Thanks again.
@Aaron Moore Are you getting the filter warning and lamp lights flashing? or is one or both solid? That may not be a filter but a fan. These are very repairable units. I don't know if you want to go that route but if you are curious feel free to email me (sales@weezytech.com) I honestly enjoy working on these in particular.
