@@NewstartGarageOZ good tip, but the crease was there from the very beginning. I'm not convinced starting at the top would have helped in this case, but you never know?
For a home job, for someone like me who isn't that much into cars but takes some pride in what I own, I reckon it's good enough to get the job done and it'll stop you from seeing it everytime you go to get into your car. 👍
@@MotoringBoxTV . I don't think you would. I've driven both. The BA quite obviously has better brakes and a more powerful motor but they're not a better car from the drivers perspective but of course people like different things for different reasons. My biggest disappointment with the BA is the temperature control panel. The AU has a hot foot and cold chest setting for your comfort. Living in Victoria it's the best thing ever for comfortable driving on cold sunny days. In Queensland you probably never need it
Some of my customers are actually PDR guys. I've talked to them at length about what they do as I am interested in taking it up. They mostly don't uses the glue pullers at all. Maybe just for areas that they can't get their pry levers into, like the edges of the turret. The little plastic 'pins' you had are for tapping down the area that you pull up with the glue puller if you pull up too far. Mostly though they use their levers and lots of patience. They make GOOD money doing it. The best jobs are the hail jobs and they fly around the country after hail storms and can sometimes work for weeks in one place. It's ALL insurance work these days and they make a good living as long as the storms keep up. The rest of the time it's removing parking dings and 'minor' dents although they are competitive and some will take on much bigger dents. It works out cheaper than panel beating as long as the paint itself hasn't cracked. I'm no expert on this, just going on what they have said to me.
Oh I'm sure they make good money indeed, and would probably have some nasty things to say to me if they saw this. I know it's shit, but it's good enough!
Cool vid! I’ve got a few dints I might try my hand at removing now. Sorry to hear about the stuff around with the auction, but I’m secretly happy you’ve still got the mighty LS1 VT. Sorry not sorry!
G'day Mate , Thank you so much for this Video . My wife bought me one these pullers as a gift nearly two years ago however, it was only the puller , no instructions nor glue gun . So now I'm going to dig it out and get a glue gun and pull some dents. Legend!!!!
Those kits aren’t bad for basic dents and will get most of it out, when you have a crease though it gets tricky. Use that kit to get most of a dent out and from there undo the inner wheel guard and massage the dent fr9m the rear bit by bit until it’s all out, don’t hit it as it will make it worse. You really need to slowly massage a dent and slowly is the key, the smaller white plastic tube things you have is used to tap the dent back when you come out too far and again do it bit by bit. The key to dent removal is to do it slowly and not try to get the whole dent out in one shot. Good work
I just bought 1 of those units works well my wife hit a little black pole in someoe yard i was so mad but after this im excited to report it not perfect but what improvement glad for these units
MotoringBox yeah I normally check them when things don’t turn out right (flatpack furniture)... but then again a power drill and extra non-standard self drilling screws normally fixes most problems 😁
This is brilliant, thank you for this. Of course the dent (smash, really) on the guard on my VX was much, much worse and couldn't be pulled as it was too far gone (ended up replacing the guard entirely, trip to the wreckers and a DIY paint job later) but this will be great if I end up with any smaller dents... which hopefully I don't.
I had an EB XR8 a couple of years ago that I should have used something like this on. Silly me pressed on the bonnet to latch it, and put a nice palm sized dent into it. Ah well, not to worry. Doesn't matter that you didn't get it all out, as long as it has made some form of difference. Nice video mate. ;-)
My EB II GLi has a small ripple in the bonnet from being pushed shut. I noticed the bonnet flexes a lot when I open it (diagonally). Must be an EB thing!
2:11-2:13 🤣That was priceless. I have just bought one of these kits but the instructions were already missing. See how this kits works on my door dent.
I will try this soon on a Nissan Micra, but I will heat the steel panel first, as this softens the steel which should help the puller to pull the dent out !
Good luck..Im already a subscriber and havnt watched the vid, just wanted you to know my rear panel looks like a teenagers face with acne after my attempt ha ha ❤
NIce work. I love that you are keeping the VT for now, I love both fords and Holden anything aussie is good in my eyes. Not sure about magnas but i did think they looked good in tghe late 90s
I'm not into the Magnas or Camrys as much because they're very closely related to overseas models, even though they were built here. A similar thing could be said for the VT I guess, but Holden did almost rework the car from the ground up.
Been tempted to get one of these kits myself. Got 2 door dings I'm rather torn up about. Hate taking my car to the shops. If I don't park miles away from everyone else, my car ends up with parking scars from inconsiderate shoppers.
Paintless dent pulling is a big deal and they do use glue sticks as you know...... I’ve got a personal view that there is scope to use electromagnets and with a bit of cloth between the magnet head and the dent when you hit the power that thing is locked on and I reckon that would be way better and I don’t believe anyone thought of it yet but then again ideas are cheap you have to actually do something about it........ I once watched a RU-vid video once where somebody put together 4 D Cell batteries activated the electromagnet and they were able to lift a Toyota Corolla from the roof..... If that’s the case you can pull dents......
@@MotoringBoxTV Maybe it’s just the case they want the kit to be exhaustible so that at the very least you have to keep spending money buying more glue sticks.....
i had a car with bodywork so low i could not get the ramps up to the tire without the plastic hitting the ramps so i placed a 2x4 in front of the ramps to lift the car slightly so i could pull it onto the ramps without issue to the plastic bodywork. worked like a charm and i had to do it again to drive the car back off the ramps.
Love your work. Wouldn’t have thought that toy kit would pull the skin off a rice pudding but not a bad result for under 30 bucks. Is the hammer included in case you have no dents?
A block of wood that is flat can be used for you to park on to be able to slide a non low profile jack under your lowered vehicle. A piece of wood that is 10 to 20cm in thickness or less will be able to raise the car high enough to jack it. 👌
Couldn't tell you sorry. But there were at least 10 sticks included in the pack, and I've only used 2 total in the few different times I've used the kit.
@@NewstartGarageOZ i was just curious because we never had the falcon in the uk except a few private imports and some BA's which were turned into coleman millne funeral cars, either way at least the mondeo aint a vectra
@@qam2878 . I've driven the Vectra and I found it to be a better car than the Mondeo. They're fucking shit here as they get old because the cooling system just isn't up to forty plus Celcius. The Falcon shits all over the Mondeo. I'm glad my grandparents moved to Australia so that I've had the pleasure of owning and driving many Falcons
Mate, too job! I'm thinking this is best suited to thinner panels such as found on the newer range of cars. I'm thinking stuff from pre '90s would be too stiff for the glue to hold. Still for the money, why not have a go.
I've had some success with the (evidently) even cheaper looking one of these I have. Pulled some dents out....... Unfortunately pulled some paint off too! Hot tip.... Don't leave it glued to the panel too long😏
A Kangaroo attacked my EF. I fitted the new bumper, headlight and indicator myself, straightened the slight crease in the bonnet - back on the road for $150! I was surprised how strong the bar was, and the plastic reo behind it!
@@robrichardson1284 Mine included one, the listing is pretty vague though. As I mentioned before, the tool shown in the listing looked completely different to what I received. Still worked well though.
Hey dude I'm sorry you didn't get to sell your vehicle, but I'm not surprised because we are dealing with people and they are as unpredictable as the weather and besides I think you're selling the wrong vehicle, anyway that vehicle is the vehicle you should keep those Ford products those are the ones you need to sell, good job on the den pulling thing.
What's the chance the ciggy butt brain that dummy bidded your listing was hoping that you'd give up and offer it cheap after they announced they were a fan. Hope you gave them an unpaid item strike.
