The Snipe rods are a step lighter than the ones in the test - more like PE1.5-2, whereas we were thinking more upwards of PE2 in this test. They could definitely be compared to the lighter Zenaq Longcast 76-1, as there is a bit of crossover there with the Snipe XX models. The Snipes are all built with very responsive carbon, have shorter butt lengths and smaller guides, so they feel like powerful light tackle/freshwater rods, whereas all the test rods here have longer butts, bigger guides, balance the larger reels so when you pick them up, they feel like scaled down bluewater rods. We have plans for doing 'range' reviews of several rod series, It just takes a lot of time to put together!
