Thank you, Tally Faye. I’m laid up in bed because I had vertigo almost gone, but anyway I’m 80 years old and I want to thank you because it’s like having family watching you. I have three great wonderful kids and some wonderful grandkids but at this age so many are gone. My sister who was my best friend for eighty years just died. I’m not so sad but it’s super nice to learn how to make pea salad. It looks so good.
I love pea salad ! My long passed uncle came from Ca every year to Ok I always had to make him ribs and pea salad .You gave me a really good memory today Bless you ❤
My Grandma's Pea Salad: Frozen peas , thawed, shredded lettuce, finely diced radishes, finely diced red onion, green olives with pimentos, mayonnaise, just enough to mix.
Thanks for the reminder. I make pea salad like you do but I forget about it. It’s been years since I made it. After the holidays, I’ll be ready for some pea salad!

It’s really good!… I have decided that I like to leave my bacon bites out until I get ready to serve… that way they stay crunchy and they’re so good in it♥️

I love Pea Salad, the salad I had, had small cubes of ham instead of bacon. No Miracle Whip but had Mayonnaise. No pickles or relish. I am sure yours is delish also. Thanks
I have never made pea salad ,but I like it. Don’t ever put can peas in it because it just don’t work. I am very tired tonight, but I had to watch you before I turned in, God bless and stay healthy.
Me either lol 😂 Growing up my moma NEVER put pickles in our pea salad My husband couldn’t believe I didn’t put them in there so I started doing it for him and I ended up liking it!… Give it a try and see what you think 😊♥️
I have just recently found your channel. I find it interesting that there’s an “ IOLA, TEXAS”, I have friends from “ IOLA, KANSAS”. I am enjoying “ following you around in the kitchen”😊👍🏼♥️
That sure looks good! I make mine almost the same way. I do use bread and butter pickles, because I don't like dill pickles and I use fresh red bell pepper, and purple onion. Sometimes I use half cheddar and half-pepper-jack cheese if I have it, because I like the extra little bit of zip the pepper-jack adds.
Love pea salad. Talli, you'll find that either soaking the diced onions in cold water or rinsing them in a strainer will get rid of that harsh taste. It gets rid of the sulpher I believe plus helps them keep in the fridge for later use if needed. I also started dicing my boiled eggs with my biscuit cutter for easy.
I love English pea salad. The only thing is that I could never get my mammas dressing for it quite right. Now I finally after lots of experimenting have it figured out, but am sworn to secrecy…….lol….. I love the tiny canned English peas, but if I can find the tiny peas fresh, I just put them in raw. So yummy! I just shell them, rinse, dry, and that’s it. I don’t ever see the tiny English peas frozen in my area. Only regular frozen peas. I put frozen peas into my salad bar, but I guess it’s due to traditional family recipe I only use the really tiny English ones. I just thaw the frozen ones, rinse with a little warm water, and put onto a lint free kitchen towel. Keep them in my salad bar. I eat a huge salad every day for one of my meals. I eat about 2 lbs of veggies a day. So each week I prep salad greens, carrots, the dryer veggies. I put them into these large flat bowls, 7 of them. I put a paper towel in on top of the salad, then the lid. I store them upside down and any moisture goes down into paper towel. And on day 7 my veggies are nice and crispy with good color. One for each day. Them bottom of fridge has my salad bar. I keep kidney beans, peas, marinated veggies, green spring onions, lots of pickled and fermented veggies. Then when I get my salad out, I top it with tons of goodies from my salad bar, and peas are something I never. Ever miss. They have good protein in them, and I just enjoy eating them.
@@hummingbird275 who's victor???? I like frozen and fresh peas! Canned peas stink and they taste nasty!🤮🤮🤮🤮 BTW the name is Victoria I am female biologically not a transgender
@@victoriaduvall6922 Sorry you got your “undies in a twist”, over a “ word correct” error. Easily triggered 😡 MUCH? Was just upholding poor little peas😳
