Getting ready to retire and want to do this again , a little slower but the brain is ready and willing , just an old soldier trying to be young again. To the guys doing this hold on as long to this adventure , you are doing right.
Gorgeous footage guys! I remember trips like this with my friends in Colorado when I was in my 20’s. What’s great about it is we’re all in our fifties and although 25+ years have passed we still remember details about particular trips like they happened the other day. It’s special...all of it. I hope it will be for you all 25+ years later. The good news is now that I’m a dad and have kids, I get to relive these spots with them in the summer! I can tell them most of the stories (not all) about a certain spot or event while we hike in, fish, or camp. In the mean time, I look forward to more of your vids. The camera work really is great and captures the essence of the moment.
My_Piscatorial_Pursuits Glad to see you enjoyed it! One of the biggest reasons we make these videos is so we can look back on these times and relive them; they will serve us well 25 years from now
Hi Mason, just saw your reply. This is Kennedy lake in the Emigrant wilderness. It’s about a 11 mile hike out of Kennedy Meadows (Hwy 108 - Sonora Pass). In the video where it shows the 2 peaks behind the lake, my son and I climbed the one on the right (Big Sam). Kicked my butt! Was totally amazing 😉
wow that is beautiful makes me miss the summertime and spring for fly fishing because im in canada. i still do it even though the guides are freezing the line is freezing and the fish is slow i mananged to catch 5 brown trout since the begining of november. and i fish in the middle of a big city where people dont know theres trout . the people who fly fish are extremely rare
Planning a trip back to the Sierras as soon as flights open up again! What is the name of the trail and where is the head?! Absolutely stunning, looks like an incredible place for some peace and quiet
I played Lord Huron's song on one tab, and muted your video while watching on another. Problem solved ;-) The first time I watched it a while back, that song really set the mood. Been there many times, and climbed the peaks in the background with my son :-)
Awesome man! Yes unfortunately we had to switch the song, don't know why it became an issues several years later but it's all good! Thanks for watching
Le rêve quoi et les amis avec et moi je me bat contre la maladie depuis 3 ans et ce combat je fais tout pour le gagner . Alors poster des vidéos de vos sorties. Merci pour ces belles vidéos cela m'aide
Absolutely gorgeous. I worry that with the way humans are multiplying as they breed like rabbits, that in 200 years when this population is at 70 Billion, places like this wont exist anymore
Thank you good sir! While they are not native, this place is one of the only places we know above 8000 feet where browns can flirt with the 20 inch mark. It truly is a special place
Same here! I grew up running around, camping, hiking, backpacking, snow skiing, dirt bike riding, horse riding, 4X4 driving, gold panning, fly fishing (mostly fly fishing) the Sierras from Lake Tahoe down to the Kern River Canyon, east-side and west-side. I do miss them dearly!!! There is no other mountain range quite like the Sierras, especially above the 10K foot elevation line. I live in the Washington Cascades now. It is amazingly beautiful here, but the Sierras will always be my mountains of home. This video sure did capture it. My heart is still there.
Moved out of California, I miss the Sierra's, I packed the Golden Trout Wilderness and flyfished for the Golden gems that live there. Also fished the lower ,upper Owens in the winter months, Hot Creek, East walker, and beyond. These are closer to population but are packed with wild trout. Love the Sierra's. World class Flyfishing. I have fished throughout the west, will always journey back until I can't. Getting up in the years.when my journey ends I will be dust in the wind in the beautiful Eastern Sierra's. ☮️.
Boy n Girls, don't even THINK of asking where they are. They think their being GENEROUS enough by telling you it's the Western side of Sierras.. It's a shame really but that's all you're going to get out of em... One tip is it's over 8000ft. Search from there and good luck.
Without giving away the exact location, can I ask what month this was filmed in? The summer window has to be pretty short in the High Sierras. Amazing footage, looks like an unforgettable trip. Thanks for posting
If I may ask, what area of California do you live in? I've watched several of your videos now and recognize all of the waters you fish. Perhaps we may have even ran into each other out on the trail. Great video, keep them coming!
Wow, I just pulled up this vide for the specific reason of saving it permanently. Absolutely a bummer that Lord Huron blocked the original song, as that really made your film so special for me. Regardless, you guys knocked it out of the park with this one and I thank you for the enjoyment!!
