Mate. Wish I was dropping by your campsite! Can't get enough of the Canadian outdoors. Superb vid once again. My only complaint.... you don't post often enough! 😁😉. Cheers 🍻👍👏
Dude this brings back memories of how me and my misses started overlanding. We had a second gen 4runner with a mattress in the back and those fly screens over the windows😂 we toured Australia in that thing and it wouldn't die. It was so reliable I miss it. I should've never gotten rid of it😢 now my misses has a 120 pardo and I've got a 2010 hilux both are very capable and reliable but I'll always have a soft spot for a 4runner
@stoked tour- I’m on the fence between a 3rd Gen 4runner and a fj cruiser. They both are cool. The only reason I see the 4runner more is because it’s true 4 door vs the half rear doors for the fj.
I really like the back window (in the tailgate) rolling down in the 4Runner. I drive with my mine down as much as possible! The FJ is definitely more unique looking and has character. The three wiper setup is cool. Those little doors do make it a bit of a drag if you are carrying people in the back on a regular basis, the front person has to unbuckle their seatbelt and open the front door first before the rear can be opened.
Love your videos! Subscribed. I'm trying to get into overlanding and looking into the FJ. Any idea what is the overall height of your setup without the rooftop tent (but with the roof racks). Its hard to finding street parking where I live, so ideally, I would want to be able to fit it in the underground parking garage. Thanks in advance
Thank you for the support!! My overall height including my small lift is about 1.92m...which is just right for the standard now around my area which is 2.1m. Cutting it real close for sure. That's the issue living in cities - need to mount the rooftent everytime you want to use it
To get the James Baroud upper shell to open once the tunnel is added at the entry. Did you have to upgrade the gas struts to more heavy duty struts ? My James Baroud in Australia has always been poor at springing open and that is without the tunnel cover being an added weight to the upper roof .
