Fun fact: This episode came out the same day "From you, 2000 years ago" came out.. it was an amazing day.

I love how the episode just fades into the end credits, like in S1 ep 19. It really feels like you just watched a movie. What an episode.

*Fans:* There will never be another episode like episode 19 in season 1. *Demon Slayer season 2 animation team:* Hold my sake!

These upper moons seem to understand consent a lot more than expected. "Become a demon Kyujuro!" "No" "Well I could force you but that would be messed up, So I guess I'll just kill ya."

To explain: Zenitsu's "Godspeed" is brief/instantaneous, and then his speed decreases. That's why we see the background going from "hyper speed" back into focus to "town roofs". So no, to clear the misconception, Inosuke doesn't match Zenitsu's Godspeed, Zenitsu has simply slowed down drastically after using it twice and his legs are near broken at this point as he stated (not to mention that it happened differently in the manga and Ufotable just made it more cinematic). Now other factors, maybe Zenitsu was pushing Daki towards Inosuke intentionally because he could hear his heartbeat, so then Inosuke popped up and sliced her from the other side. The 'Inosuke hanging in the air' moment was just anime being anime, so that he could give his little dialogue about why he wasn't literally dead. As we know, Inosuke is a crazy boar boy who is already very strong and tough from being raised in the wild. Probably has a tough immune system with some poison resistance from eating all kinds of random stuff in the woods lol. He also has his special sensory ability, just like Tanjiro can smell stuff, so he can sense things around him as well as incoming attacks (This will be explained more in S3). Plus he has a very flexible and "contortable?" body, so he shifted his heart slightly by shifting his bones, after sensing an attack coming from behind. Don't ask me how "realistic" shifting organs is, I'm not a scientist, but don't forget we literally just saw him worm his way through some underground tunnels, and we're talking about a show where people breathe very specifically in order to stay alive and become superhuman.

Gyutaro voice actor is top notch. Makes you hate him for real, but one hell of a character

Yo tengen is an actual TANK!! Muchiro is still my favorite hashira but seeing this animated took my respect for tengen to an insane level!! man lost his hand, was poisoned, got stabbed and his face/eye sliced and told tanjiro to not stop! Ultra giga chad!!

That scene of tanjiro running trying to catch up with tangen to help him behead gyutaro and he yell " uzui" then we hear tengen screaming " jump, don't stop" gives me an unexplainable feeling everytime i watch this ep... i really loved and enjoyed the voice actor of tengen, his voice range is so pleasing to me, i think this is one of the strongest points of DS their VAs are so talented and they match the characters so well

This arc was quite literally an emotional rollercoaster. You think they've beaten Daki, Gyutaro comes out. They've almost got Gyutaro, he outmaneuvers them. The gang gets taken out, but they come back better than ever. Not only are the stakes high, the emotions are wild and the animation is even wilder. As much as I loved Akaza and Rengoku, it was very clear that fight was super one sided. Akaza only started to really try at the end when he needed to get away from the sun. But this fight felt so much more impactful because things were pretty evenly matched for the most part. Side note: I love Gyutaro just patting Tanjiro's head and telling him to protect Nezuko. Obviously the moment is broken by the finger breaking, but you can definitely see that Gyutaro understands the sentiment of wanting to protect your sister.

Gyutaro is a full realized antagonist who in his conversational state is incredibly unnerving and creepy and in his fighting state intimidating and sometimes downright scary. The voice acting hits for everything from his mocking of Tanjiro to his frustrated grunts at Tengen continues to survive his attacks to his screams as he picks himself off the ground. But it isn't just the voice acting, the animation and choreography of his fighting style are insane. A fantastically realized character in all departments that is perhaps the best depiction of the concept of envy I've seen in a demon. I don't really agree that this fight has less emotional weight than the Rengoku vs. Akaza. Akaza was toying with Rengoku while every fighter is not only taking part in this battle but struggling to survive.

This Episode is a pure Rollercoaster of amazingness. Ufotable literally gave us a Movie within a Seasonal show.

Over the course of these couple episodes, this is the most extreme I've seen a group of heroes go from fucked to winning. Absolutely masterclass storytelling

This was an insane episode. But personally I would say more "PEAK ANIMATION" instead of "PEAK ANIME" because let's face it the choreography of the fights and the quality the ufotable poured into animating it made it exponentially better than what was showed in the manga

these editing skills are insane

Tanjiro says it earlier in this season when Daki points out his chipped sword. The Nichirin Sword's strength and sharpness is directly linked to the user's strength and ability. So yeah, in the first season even though Tanjiro learns how to cut through literal rock with a sword, he still cant cut through Rui's dad's arm. So, that demon's arm is harder than rock, obviously because at that point Tanjiro is stronger than he was before. And, Rui himself said that his skin is harder than the webs he can create, and his webs cut right through Tanjiro's sword at one point, however once Tanjiro was able to channel his strength better in that same fight, the stub of his sword was able to cut through Rui's webs and not the other way around. All that to say is, to be able to cut through even stronger demon's necks, you just have to become stronger so that your sword itself is stronger/sharper when using it. (technique has a lot to do with it too. Give the sharpest sword to a noob and have him try to cut through a row of Tatami mats rolls, and he might not get through cleanly. Give that same sword then to a master swordsman, and he'll cut those mats like they weren't even there.)
