I remember watching this video just over a year ago and it led me to the choice of getting the 6L. Now revisiting videos on Peak Design slings and this one is still the best
the problem is peak design send all their products to every single photoblogger for free, (genius marketing) so youtube gets flooded with positive, over produced reviews that are basically just reading copy. very few are ACTUAL reviews of these.
Finally a review showing the bags for their intended purpose, and demonstrating what they look like with camera + lens lineup inside. Thanks a lot for this. You helped me decide to buy the 6L version.
@@cleverrev i want a 6liter its perfect size, and put inside an 11 inch ipad pro with smart keyboard, a tech pouch and an a 6600 with 70-350 or a7c with 70-200 f4. would it fit alll inside? what do you think?
@@cleverrevwould u be able to fit the Canon R10 with 18 to 45mm kit lens with Rf 100 to 400mm f5.6 to 8 usm lens with a lens hood in the 3L sling? And would the 3l be able to fit in a backpack to take on a flight?
Trust me i go heavy on watching reviews before buying a product. I can confidently say that you were the only reviewer who actually took out the origami divider. This was a huge deciding factor for me as i like to have the freedom to have that on or not. Great great review. My only critic would be, loved to have seen some shots of you wearing the product and using it as an everyday user. Apart from that, mad respect for this video! Thank you very much for this!
Excellent video. The first one I've come across to show clearly (and correctly) all the features of the bags and what they can store. I'm going for the 3L (for a M4/3 body with two primes and a walkabout zoom). Thanks so much for this video - I'd almost given up hope of finding a decent video demo online.
I know this video is afew years old but i just wanna say thank you so much for showing the fuji camera and lens fitting in the 3L bag. I really needed to see this to decide the purchase on this bag. Instantly ordered one right away after seeing that segment. Thank you!
This is the most thorough review of this product I've seen. Wanted something small and quick for stripped-down travel filming (ninja like, as stated) and was trying to decide between the 3 and the 6. You pulling out the Mavic Pro with the 6 was the deciding factor for me.
Great review and is helping me decide which size to buy (first lol). For short tripods and items on the bottom you can criss-cross the straps to give better support. Run one from the front right to the rear left, and the other just the opposite and they will capture things a bit shorter than the bottom of the bag.
Kudos, by far the best review of these bags yet. It seems most other reviewers are intent on talking about everything EXCEPT which camera gear you can actuallt fit into each! You demonstrated it perfectly. Cheers!
Underrated video right here! I literally watched this twice because this is exactly the setup I’m looking to do street photography with thanks! On a side note I just noticed we have the same name and do street photography lol.
Thank you so much for the kinds words. I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the video. I'm just getting started but I'm having a ton of fun. I have some cool projects that I'll be posting in the upcoming weeks. Thanks for the sub 🙏 it means a lot!
@@cleverrev you are a good videomaker. I do have a channel too but the feeling you are able to make it is something that you have or you do not have. And you have it. I am starting to watch the other videos of yours. Continue like that brother. It will be awesome for me to follow you 🙏
I wish I watched your video before I bought one lol Just bought the V2.0 6L yesterday, it was a lightly used occasion for less than half the price so I couldn't leave it there. Once I got home I started messing around with the panels and fitment of my gear and it was a grand disappointment, a Nikon D700 simply doesn't fit in there without stretching the bag to it's absolute limits and bulging in the middle. The camera (viewfinder/prism to be specific) is apparently so tall that it will bulge pretty severely in the middle of the bag, no matter the orientation of the camera. Of course this is really specific to the camera you use, and a D700 isn't a small body by any stretch of the imagination, but I find it kinda odd. Especially since I had a Patagonia hip/waist bag that is about half the volume of the sling bag(and isn't even a camera bag) but it does fit the D700 with lens attached + backup lens easily without stretching or bulging in any dimension. Aside from that; great bag, great materials, love the design. The only gripe I have is the QC of the product, since the end/beginning of the nylon strap starts fraying super easily because there isn't anything that protects that part(plastic or metal cap that secures the fibres). And a bit sad that it doesn't fit my D700 very well.
Great video! I am actually looking at a sling for pretty much the same equipment load out, DJI mini, Canon M50 with 1-2 lenses and this is exactly what I needed to help with my decision. Thanks!
I'm running a Canon R6 with a 24-70. So I went with the 6L. I'm hoping to put my 100mm macro in as well, but when you showed the drone in the 6L, I was confident I made the right decision. We'll see when it gets here though. Great review. Thanks.
Excellent review. I'm glad to see a review of the two bags for use in street photography. Are you able to put the camera with the 18 - 55 zoom attached in both bags in the same orientation? Are both bags wide enough? I'm torn because I only carry an XT-30, 23mm f2, and an 18 - 55 zoom. And sometimes I leave the zoom at home. The 3L is enough for my gear, but I can't leave the house without a water bottle and a small snack. So I'm leaning toward the 6l for a little extra room for other stuff.
I own the 10L version and the iPad compartment is a very, very, tight fit (width wise across the back of the bag) for a 2018 iPad Pro 12.9". Kind of disappointing
Would have been interesting to see how big they are when you use them. Purchased the 3L. My D7500 with the Sigma 17-50 2.8 fits very tight but I can't get a 6" ebook reader in the front, so I may go for the 6L. The quality is great but the front opening is too tight and low so it's hard to get something in.
I was trying to decide between the two and mentioning the drone totally sold me on the 6L. Most of the time when I’m traveling with a camera I’m also carrying the drone but not walking around type carrying so the mavic is in a pelican type case and camera stuff in a backpack. I don’t always need all the lenses, flash, batteries, etc and I think the 6L bag should hold my camera, a couple lenses, the drone (Air 2S) and controller. You think that would all fit?
great and wonderful review. i got the 3l and love it used it on my trip with 2 lens and my r6. the weight was perfect and didn't bother my shoulders. i am considering the 6l so i can add a flash for those times i need some bounce flash indoors. how was the weight with the 6l filled, did it bother your shoulders?
Nice review. My setup includes the exact camera and lenses + 12mm rokinon. However, I have the Mini 2. Would be interested to know if I can fit in the new remote + the battery charging thingy in there 😬 As I see it, I would need both of these bags since sometimes, I just need the camera gear, sometimes camera + drone 😬 Subbing
I am looking for a bag for a single camera w/ attached lens carry. Sometimes when i am traveling I don't want to shoot for the day as I'm just around town or doing some exploring around an area, scouting for sunset/sunrise etc. I would like to have a camera with me in case something peaks my interest but I do not want to carry my "camera bag" nor throw my camera in the bottom of a lightweight backpack. The camera/lens combo would be a Nikon z6ii with the 24-120 attached. Do you think the 3L work for this purpose?
I bought the 6l ash color . I think the fabric is a little too rough and damages the clothes when wearing , especially when I wear a delicate jacket or T-shirt . Do you have same problem ???
Hi wonder if you could advise, I have a XT3 which I use in combination with a 1955 Yashica A TLR camera. The Fuji only ever has a 35mm f2 lens. Do you think I could squeeze the two into a 3L?
@@cleverrev nice! I used to live over in kendall off 104th. Let's hang and collab next time I'm there man. My ig is @bhurnal hmu and we can talk from there.
Unfortunately I don't own the 16-55mm, its actually the next lens on my purchase list. The 56mm fits and so does the 18-55mm. I think it will fit but you may sacrifice the origami side pocket. I'm almost certain it will work with the 6L.
I don't have the 100-400 (wish I did). I have the 55-200 and that fits easily with the X-T3/X-T4. Let me know how long that lens is and I should be able give you an answer on that. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for such a well-made and clear video. You explained very well exactly what fit in each one. I'll probably get the 3L if I finally buy the Fujifilm X-100V and add my Canon A1 SLR too with a prime and some batteries and memory cards. Excellent, minimal and ninja-descreet bag!
Great thorough review. I’m definitely leaning towards the 3L for my everyday small grab and go outdoor/nature photography bag. My only feedback would be to improve the lighting. Lots of dark shadows on the product. Other than that, thumbs up. Thanks
This was a very good overview of these bags, maybe even the best I've seen on YT. Thank you! Only one thing I would have wished for was just a short splitscreen comparison of both bags worn on the body. so we can see the difference in the look. But other than that, great video.
Watched this while sipping a top whiskey, enjoyed the vibes...very informative, very relaxed exactly what I was looking for regards info on these two products....great work, just earned a subscriber. Thanks.
Good, real world review. I appreciated your insights because they accurately reflect how we all use bags. The little tip about the bag not flopping open when unzipped for example.
It took awhile but I've finally found the best review of these bags. I have close to the same set up, XT3 for street with 2 of the fast primes and possibly snacks/small water bottle. Going with the black 6L. Superb review dude, thank you.
Great video. Was shocked when the 18-55 was pulled out. Have 6L but thinking of getting 3L when I leave 1 Fuji body EF home. If I can make X-Pro2 with 27 or 14 fit and also pack in 33 1.4 I’m golden. Thank you !
Great review on these bags. I'm thinking of getting the 6L and I would be putting the XT30 with 18-55m lens, my question is could I put the 100-400mm on the other side where you have the 2 lenses? Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the video. Do you think an A7iii with the Tamron 28-75 would fit in the 3L? Maybe with one extra prime lens too? I want to go as compact as I can.
So here's the thing - I'm off on a holiday and looking to purchase an EDC to hold various small items including a Fujifilm X100V, small water bottle, and glasses. I purchased the Bellroy Venture Sling 6L and think it looks great but is a bit smaller than I imagined tbh considering the 6L size mark. For example, the Peak Design Everyday Sling 3L camera bag - yes 3L - (superbly made also) has almost the EXACT same dimensions, looks able to store pretty much exactly the same amount of items and is extremely well crafted with comparable weather resistance etc - BUT quite a bit cheaper. Why is the Bellroy so much more expensive and named 6L, when the Peak Design of the same size is 3L ??????? Is there something odd going on???
Thanks for the comparison, I'm trying to decide between the 2. Do you think I can fit a fuji xt4 with 15 - 135 lens attached and a nikon 12 - 24 lens in the 3L? Im trying to minimize my gear and stay as small as possible and it seems the 6L is a bit too much but 3L may be a bit too small...
Thank you so much! I’ve been looking for a great review like this one. I’m not a shooter but as a news producer/journalist, I have to carry Zoom recorder, microphone etc. I’m gonna go with the 6L one. Thanks again!
