I think the reason he has never lost control up to this point is because he was doing what the kaiju he is merged with wanted anyway. At the start it said found you, and just now it said Kaiju Kill. I think it wants to kill other kaiju and this is the first time Kafka has resisted. It probably can't tell the difference between a real kaiju and the boss using the powerful weapon.

He's fighting him to prove a point to his daughter and to himself... that Kafka is a kaiju despite his human appearance. That's why he's not holding back in the slightest... the more Kafka loses control, the more he makes the point.

The translation here is a little odd. Kafka's kaiju is sensing #2's energy in the gauntlets and has identified the general as a kaiju. It's fine holding back against humans (like when he didn't kill the vice captain despite being injured), but it isn't going to let any kaiju it faces live if it has any say over it. It's kinda ironic that the only character who hates kaiju more than the general is Kafka's kaiju, which is causing it to go out of control to try to kill the anti-kaiju hater who it thinks is a kaiju. It's basically the spiderman meme, where both sides hate kaiju and wants to kill the other because they think that they are a kaiju. And, in Kafka's case, he IS a kaiju, albeit one with a human mind and the ability to impersonate his old body. As you saw here, this means that his "human" body now has a core and access to kaiju regeneration (kinda like #9 when he becomes human).

Here within one minute of a reaction drop to peak kaiju no 8.

Let's remember that his real form is the kaiju form. He had to practice to transform his body to "Kafka", so yeah, he is no longer a human. The kaiju 8 manga is pretty nice, i started buying it a few months ago in my country's edition. The Kaiju inside, said that he must kill kaijus, so it is reacting to the Kaiju weapons.

Well this is the first time we see it here, but I think it's a common trope in anime/manga that the MC has an evil entity inside that gives him power (Naruto, Jujutsu Kaisen, Black Clover, Bleach, etc).

I expected everybody to be okay with him being a Kaiju, but I didn't expect it to happen at the top of this episode-especially with Mina breaking her professionalism, I thought it would be fed to us slowly (16:40) If I were Kafka I would've said "But not strong enough to save your wife"👀 just to throw this man off LOL

Something that' lost in translation is that when Mina was talking to Kafka, she switched from formal to informal and back to formal attitude. The "you" she used in several sentences actually switched from "omae" (formal, for outsiders) to "kimi" / "Kafka-kun" (for a close friend) when the camera wasn't on, and then back to "omae" when she said "sit, its' time". This is something usually lost in English translations because English language does not distinguish between formal and intimate form. For Europeans I hope they make that distinction in their translations.

i have a personal little theory that someone who is either within the defense force or is somehow linked to it has been conducting experiments on kaiju. maybe that person(s) had access to all defense force applicants and because kafka took the exam year after year, they had their eye on him. maybe that person even knew kafka's connection to mina. so when one of their experiments was ready to be put to use, they intentionally sent it to kafka, hence the bug kaiju thing saying "found you". from the beginning it felt so intentional that kafka was chosen somehow. to me, it's like that bug kaiju thing was programed to kill kaiju which is why kafka's body is reacting the way it is against director shinomiya while he is using weapons made from kaiju. also, i feel like director shinomiya has never loved anyone the way he loved kikoru's mother which is why his hatred of kaiju is so strong, it practically defines him rn. poor kikoru deserves better which is why i love her bond with kafka, he's the caring, concerned parental figure she never had.

I don't know why, but I feel like when the Kaiju in his mind said "Kaiju...Kill". It means kill the Kaiju No. 2 weapons. I think Kefka's Kaiju hates other kaijus. Like it's a sentient anti-kaiju weapon.

It's worth noting that when the Kaiju says kill it does specify kill Kaiju. It's going after the Kaiju not the person. It seems it's not smart enough to separate the person from the equipment.
