I had 2 Mk3's...a '75 2000E in Ford Arizona gold & a '74 GXL 2000 in metallic Bronnze!!..fantastic fun & cars loved by everyone ❤ Many happy times!!...even when the cam-belt snapped on the "E" I replaced it in the street next day after work in a couple of hours & a few spanners...😊(Couldn't imagine doing that today on any new car in this boring world)...Cortina was king ❤❤ SX 😂 👍👍stay cool 👌

Large glass areas so other people can see through your vehicle to the road ahead. An idea that has been consigned to history it seems.

As a lad the Cortina mk3 was everywhere and as a teenager in the 80s more in scrapyards than on the road the tinworm finally got to most by then.

Meanwhile in America... we got the Pinto.

Can't remember many two doors when they were new, dad had 1300L s as Taxis , would have loved a 2000 GXL though.

I found a very nice LHD example for sale in Spain a few years ago. I wish I could have bought it.

I had ‘72 and ‘75 XL Cortina estates....the ‘72 was a special order 2000 litre Automatic in Sunburst Red, with tan interior - rapid, but I part exchanged it for a ‘72 Granada GXL in metallic Brown after watching ‘The Sweeney’.🤣

Made Ford alot of money over the years. Although they didn't have any meaningful competition!! Stuff from BL and Vauxhall was dire and foreign stuff was too weird for the British pallet. The Cortina, Escort and Fiesta were the right cars at the right time at the right price.

About Ford Cortina mk-3 is been by my family first car, look like coke cola body design making cortina mk-3 have sport car style most by 2-doors coupe sedan 2.3L v-6 gte / gtx have comfortable seats, luxury interior, driving handling control and hi-performance engine and torque is really good and strong enough and Running really fast ! Most in that car is my childhood age all of good old memory ! Even after driving so many years by my father and me driving over 30 years long still love to driving that old car ! Just like turn back time start that good old v-6 ohv engine hearing the engine sound and listening that good old charms respond to you and turn on the radio put in 70's or early 80's good old song, good old rock & roll music and driving happy and smiling and feel with my daddy's old car ride with me and singing good old song ! What the car ? Is my daddy's old cortina mk-3 ride with me !

Mklll Cortina , a great looking car, maybe Ford ought to relaunch a New 2023 Version to replace the Mondeo? And no not yet another bloomin SUV a proper car hatch/estate and saloon, there’s love for retro remake 🤔

Probably the last European Ford with very American-like styling. To good effect, though: the later cortina-models looked far more generic.
