On the 11th hour on the 11th day on the 11th month armistice peace at last those boys went through hell all for what the world is more fucked now then it has ever been if those boys woke up and saw what was going on today they would roll back around and die again so disappointing it seems everyone is forgetting what they went through what have times come to its heartbreaking.
I loved singing this song at my Christmas concerts in highschool! It's a great one! "In the bleak midwinter Frosty wind made moan Earth stood hard as iron Water like a stone Snow had fallen Snow on snow on snow In the bleak midwinter Long, long ago Angels and Arc Angels May have traveled there Cherubim and Seraphim Thronged the air But only his Mother In her maiden bliss Worshiped the beloved With a kiss What can I give him? Poor as I am If I were a shepherd I would give a lamb If I were a wise man I would do my part But what I can I give him Give him my heart Give him my heart"
During WW1, "In the Bleak Midwinter" was a popular Christmas carol. All the Shelby brothers fought in the war and would say this quote when narrowly escaping death. The quote basically symbolizes a second chance at life coming to an end. It kind of reminded them all that they all "died" at the battle of Somme, a battle in which they were surrounded. They agreed that if they survived they would remember that battle as a blessing. Hope this helped clarify
