Seldom seen & Easy to make. Impressive look. Brown sugar and OJ mustard sauce. Make as many as you need. Take the time Make it right. ttt2mir tttmir

2lb peameal bacon roast
2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup orange juice
2 tsp powdered mustard
Score crosshatch pattern through bacon fat cap and place in casserole with fat cap side up.
Mix the rest of the ingredients in a saucepan and pour over bacon roast.
Roast in preheated 400F oven and baste every 15 minutes until done 172F or about 1.5 hours.
Tent with foil 15 minutes. Slice and serve with drizzle of remaining sauce.

I make my own from pork loins. Looking at those labels, that peameal has 3x the sodium of the American bacon. Something to be aware of.

62 year old Canadian here...We call this "ham". Americans call this Canadian Bacon.

I noticed you put the sauce in a saucepan, Do you heat the sauce before you put it on the roast?

No it isn't necessary. Sometimes I prepare in a sauce pan if I have difficulty dissolving, but that doesn't really happen with these proportions. The cold sauce can go right on the cold roast. Just make sure you mix it up with a spoon right before pouring it on. :-)
