Peanut Blossom Cookies are a peanut butter cookie with a Hershey's Chocolate Kiss sitting happily on top. Some say these cookies resemble little hats and, in fact, Maida Heatter tells us in her excellent book "Maida Heatter's Cookies" that this recipe is an "old American recipe that is sometimes called Sombreros".

After trying almost all of your recipes I can surely say your recipes are all excellently on point and turn out perfectly fine! I've been baking these blossom cookies with your recipe for almost two years now! As always, enticing recipe, simple but complete instructions and, of course, that signature peek at the family doggie (like a prize in a Cracker Jack box.. you never know when she is going to pop up but you know she will!!). I seem to remember that you had this same recipe before, but with the peanut butter balls rolled in sugar first. I just made these and realize that I really do miss that added sweetness!

I found they were a little sweet when rolled in the sugar. However, you could roll the cookies in sugar before baking,

I think I told you this before. Back in the early 80' I went home with a girlfriend for the weekend. Her mother had made these LEAVING the foil on the kisses thinking that the foil would dissolve?????? You always have great recipes!

My mom always rolled the cookies in sugar before baking, adds a nice touch. Also she would put them back in the oven for two minutes after placing all the kisses in the cookies. Not sure why, but maybe just sets the kiss in the cookie better.

Sorry but eggs are difficult to substitute and I don’t know of a substitute for eggs in this recipe.

I sometimes make the ‘cheater’ recipe of these. It’s just Bisquick, sweetened condensed milk, peanut butter, vanilla, a small amount of sugar to roll them in, plus the kisses. Probably not quite as good but boy are they easy to make!

I like peanut butter. I like chocolate. But the two together is just weird to me. It seems it’s a very American combination which I didn’t grow up with, and as an adult I just can’t make myself like it. I much prefer my peanut butter with Vegemite and my chocolate on its own. I’ll still watch the video though because I enjoy watching you bake pretty much anything as I dream about having a kitchen that would make baking a joy… see what I did there? 😂😂😂

Hershey's are not easy to get in central Europe, similar products could be Maltesers, nougat, or as Steph said any chocolate

I either did them for a minute too long or 375° was not the correct temp for my oven. They came out crumbly and dry. I did the 2nd and final tray 350°. They seemed less dry and crumbly.

You could buy a free standing oven thermometer to double check your oven’s calibration.
