I LOVE THIS! I love how much dough there is, so you can make quite a bit and they last a long time. I split the treats between my 2 dogs, my neighbors 2 dogs, and my cousins 3 dogs, so it's perfect for making gifts! I love knowing what's in my dogs treats and not having to worry about chemicals and unsafe ingredients. This will forever be my "go to" recipe, I love it. THANK YOU! ♡♡
I am doing a community project where I am baking and selling dog treats to raise money for my local animal sanctuary. I have seen other videos, but this by far is my favorite. Great video. Thanks!
As a lover of peanut butter, I have never seen xylitol listed as an ingredient (or 'natural sweetener' or 'sugar alcohol'). EVER. So I had to look it up. From what I can determine, only 3 brands contain xylitol: Nuts 'n More, Krush Nutrition, and P-28 Foods. Once again, I have never even heard of these. While it's GREAT information to know, it would have been more helpful to have included the specific brands that DO include this as a sweetener rather than a broad statement that one may suspect applies to many different brands. So my dog and I will happily sit on the front porch and enjoy our spoonful of Jif Natural. Creamy of course. :-p EDIT: looks like Go Nuts, Co also has PB with xylitol. Again, never heard of that brand.
I love this recipe! I made these treats when I had two dogs, now that one of my dogs: Charlotte passed away these treats are almost like a reminder of her! ❤Thank you!
I've been making these for two years, good video! I've eaten a few. 170 degree oven 2 cups of flour (whole meal/ whole wheat) 1 cup natural peanut butter 1 teaspoon of baking powder 1 egg 1 cup of water. oven 15-20 minutes. Also popular with cats.
So my dog is allergic to eggs but I've found is you replace the eggs with like 2 spoonfulls of coconut oil it works very well! Also, because my dog is obsessed with bananas, I added some of those as well and he was a fan.
WHAT A GREAT RECIPE !!!!!!! Peanut Butter dog biscuits that actually smell like peanut butter, Ones I've bought in pet stores have zero peanut butter aroma. Plus they're crazy easy to make. Just counted and the recipe made 154 small bone shaped biscuits. My greyhound "Willow the leggy super-model" loves them. Thanks very very much Erin. And the recipe works exactly like you say it does.
I love your videos! It's just that when you have a video of peanut butter treats that is all I expect and then you just blow me away with a dancing mixer! Oh and adding in a spot the difference, it will keep me entertained for hours! :)
Great video and recipe! My dog LOVED them and he is a very picky eater. Even though mine were a little more fattening because I used all purpose flour and JIF peanut butter, he still enjoyed them. Me and my dog will be using these treats from now on for training. And yes, the dog in my profile picture is my dog 🐶 😛
Just found your video. Great job ... easy to understand and follow, no unusual or difficult to ingredients and perfect size. Definitely well done. Thank you for sharing with us. I intend to make these treats!!!
Add some Brewers Yeast in there and you've got a flea preventative treat. I sometimes use oats too. One of my Chi's has a sensitive stomach and can eat this with no problem. This is a great recipe.
omgomgomg i was just about to tweet you asking for homemade pet treat recipes, and then this popped up on my feed :D. thanks Erin! if you still have other homemade recipes (spesh for cats) please share them. i try not to buy any store bought pet food either, what you said in your vid here is exactly my philosophy.
Thank you for sharing this. I recently lost all my dog cookie recipes. The cookies I have made also have a history of people eating them not knowing they were dog treats LOL
made this for my picky little Dog and he loved them! and now we can go to the dog park and share when we go as a treat! :) mine came put pretty good even without the rolling pin and the cookie cutter :)
I'm having a birthday party for my chihuahua who is turning 6 years young, and I'm going to make a cake for the 7 dogs that will be there and And 1 small one just for my chihuahua Lu Ann, I have been looking for something to put in a bowl and put for little snacks for them and this looks PERFECT to use, I'm also making gift bags.
How do you get your cookies out of the piping tip if they stick? These will make the perfect size cookie but I can not get them to come out of the piping tip 😕
I was wondering how much to feed your dog if you make them as big as yours because I'm about to make them and my dog loves peanut butter and I'm sure she will enjoy these as well :D tysm for making this awesome vid 😀
+Denise Estrella It really depends on the size of the dog and how easily they gain weight but I've been giving about 5-10 of these small cookies to John spread throughout the day. They are really useful as training treats too :)
This video was amazing! I'm going to make my dogs these dog treats for Christmas. :) Also could you please make a video on making homemade cat treats? I have a cat and I would love to see that video too! Thank You! :)
hello,, can i ask you about peanut butter, you said used the smooth one without chunk? may i know why? cuz my dog loves peanut butter cookies with chunk on it,,
Ok so at first I loved these treats, my dog loved them as well. For a week, the treats got moldy in a week. They were in a container that held food before without a problem. Very disappointed since I made quite a lot.
I had the same problem with the first batch I made. I had some left over dough, so I decided to try dehydrating the biscuits after baking. That has completely stopped them from getting moldy and they now last just as long as store bought biscuits
So I am thinking of switching out the flour with minced chick peas because I want to avoid giving my dog flour. The fibber in the peas is better for him anyway and I will probably add another egg for more binder since I am not using flour(glue). Any thoughts?
+ErinsAnimals. I know we are off the hamster topic, but i wanted to know if it is ok to change a hamsters diet? My hamsters are getting picky with the one they have now.
Cats cannot digest carbohydrates I wouldn't suggest feeding those to them. (They won't hurt them but they just go straight through with no nutritional value)
ErinsAnimals i love amylase and your cats and dogs so heres a Question about the hamsters i hqve a dwarf hybrid called pudding and a syrian called lady einstein pudding live in a large ferplast mouse cage and lady einstein cage is a samla bin is that ok ? Please reply 🐭🐹🐶🐈
