I played this song at my Mom's funeral in March. This was her favorite song along with Alive. This has become the MOST precious, important and extremely powerful song in my entire life... This song played every now and then when my mom would drive as a kid, first time ever listening to it in depth. It’s insane how Eddie expressed his anguish so strongly through the rasp in his voice, hitting different notes, even the guitar had my hairs raised. painfully beautiful song.

I'm turning 49 this year and this song brings me all the way back to my late teens. I have adored this song since the first time I heard it on the radio. Pearl Jam was also of the first band CD's I purchased, too. Repeat, repeat, repeat ❤ This song gets me right in the gut everytime. Perfection.

I was there for her when her mother passed away and none of her friends showed up to offer her support. Helped her emotionally, Financially, etc. Treated her like a Queen and loved her like no tomorrow. Gave her everything I can possibly give and all the free time I had just so I could be with her. In the end, I was just nothing to her and she decided to rather be with someone else that didn’t give two shits about her. Yeah man, this song is hitting me hard right now and probably forever.

This song was released just as I was starting the Fall Semester of my Freshman year at college. I was 18 years old. Two weeks ago I celebrated my 50th birthday. This song still hits 32 years later.

When I was 15 years old my parents moved to United States, this was one of pearl jam songs they kept playing on the radio stations, I've just listened to it today after so many years it actually brought tears to my eyes because it brought me right back to the uncertain part of life and I'm going to leave it at that. For the longest time I absolutely could not listen to this without bursting into tears, 2 years later I have finally got over and moved on but damn all the memories do still run through like a picture show and probably always will but the tears have finally gone.

Every song I like has awesome covers but no one can get close to Eddie and his voice. So unique and the emotion is unmatched.
