The more you watch Eddie, and listen to him, the more you know about him. He tells about himself when he’s young, Alive was about his mother, Release Me, about his father, black,a girlfriend, He likes to play around on stage, running and jumping , and climbing, I’ve watched him, since Ten came out, I even wrote him, giving him a good drug talk, because I knew from the first time I heard him sing, that he was going to be big, And I knew that the dealers would be trying to get him to try things. He is the only one alive now, you got to love him, I see him as a son, watching him play around, and get up there and sing his behind off with so much emotion. Make me proud.
Thank You Rory and thank you Mace!! Pearl Jam 's first big festival. Awesome reaction Rory!! I don't if you notice but Soundgarden was on the side stage watching them, Soundgarden went after them. Thank you so much for sharing this awesome video LOVE IT!! 😊💓🤘✌️
That’s crazy. I’ve been a huge Doors fan and Pearl Jam fan ever since I discovered music. I’ve grown up with Pearl Jam as I was a teenager and followed them since then, but obviously retroactively discovered The Doors and have been a huge fan since. I never got that connect on porch until you mentioned it. That’s awesome!
For a great follow-up, track down a video named "Eddie Vedder talking about his jump at Pinkpop in 1992." Summary if you can't be bothered: At a 2018 show, Ed talks about the Pinkpop crane-dive, and how he met the cameraman years later. While Ed had thought that the cameraman was yelling at him to get off the crane, the cameraman was actually just yelling to people at the end of the crane to grab the crane as ballast. If they weren't there to steady it, the crane was going to just come down from the extra weight. So... they held the end so that they could stop it from going down. On top of that, after the jump, the cameraman was telling those people to get off of it, since if they had been holding it as he jumped, the cameraman would go flying, because the Eddie weight was not there anymore.
When Pearl Jam was inducted in to the R&R Hall of Fame, Eddie apologized to his bandmates for all his stunts in the early years. He still interacts with the crowd, going down and standing on the barricade. Before Covid, he would pass around his bottle of red wine during "Crazy Mary"
PJ played after soundgarden. Soundgarden played around two in the afternoon and we got seriously rained on. After their set we went to get changed and came back for Pearl Jam who were playing right after David Byrne in the evening
@@captaincheese-beard6316 okay, cool. I wasn't there. I've just always heard that Soundgarden followed them. I bow to the person who has actual in person knowledge.😁
Eddie was a surfer, and also fearless. Took stage diving to crazy new heights (...after watching Chris do it for years. Chris duck taped his pants after people kept trying to pull them off while he was crowd surfing. And Chris likely picked up diving from Iggy Pop and others on the punk scene). Eddie was a ball of energy 😄😄😄 Best late 80s/early 90s shows = risk of getting kicked in the head if you were anywhere near the stage😄
