This song is a lost classic. It should have been on the charts and received radio play. But, no. That's why its so legendary. It's not over played or commercialized. Its raw.....pure, uncut, relentless grunge. No sale out. It reminds me of AIC "Don't Follow" and "Nutshell" . They are truly treasures.
Somebody build a freakin fortress around this band. God just listen to this, it can saves lives. I'm so freakin glad I was a teenager in the 90s. They just turned my world upside down in 1992, I was 12. For the next decade, nothing could compare to these guys for me. Still today, with 2 kids, the mere fact that they are still around put a smile on my face everyday.
this is close to the best live song I've seen performed . i was three rows back , just past spitting distance . every time i hear this song i cry . it wakes up what's dead inside you .
Saw things...Saw Things...Clearer...Clearer...Once You...Were in My...REARVIEW MIRROR!!!! One of my favorite moments in any song ever. Not just PJ but any band. So much emotion. I can never get enough.
Rebecca Chester me too. The lyrics are ridiculously relevant, I took a long drive and I realised.....and I've never looked back, not once. Best of luck to you x
I miss the nineties and being a teenager and listening to bands like pearl jam, smashing pumpkins and nirvana, when they they first came out. Someone invent a time machine. The nostalgia is killing me!
I can never seem to get past .57 seconds!!!!! That cute as smile and little eye brow lift when he says"sorry" gets me every bloody time, I just automatically find myself hitting rewind!!! So effin beautiful 💕🔥🎶. I'm off to listen to the first verse again 😉✌️
They're still so freaking amazing 30 yrs later. Timeless, beautiful and amazingly talented. Thankfully we still have them here. So many lost... Drugs and suicides. 😭
this version is SIIIICK! God everything about this is so awesome... the song, the quality, the fans being captured, the fact that its a VHS copy.... I LOVE IT.
Lord what a feeling that must be-- humanity as far as the eye can see, going apeshit over what you're putting down. These guys SO deserve it! Just 5 minutes of it and I could die happy...
We all know how amazing a band is when their live versions are better than the studio versions. Virtually every song they played this show sounded better than the studio versions. If they’re not the best live band they are up there.
Was almost going to say something like here's "the boys in their prime" but I couldn't because they are just ALWAYS in their prime. Every era, every album (yes, I still like to say album sometimes!), every lyric and strum of the guitars. The HEART and the beat of the drums and THAT voice. Words and Music. Words and Music.
Matt Cameron just can’t do justice to any Dave A. song no matter what. Dave was just different and his feel and accents were another level. He really made Pearl Jam.
I'm always shocked how Dave fanboys manage to nullify the significance of the original 4 members who were there since the beginning, who never left, and those 4 are 3 guitarists, 1 bassist and 1 singer (4 musicians). And give all the credit to the drummer (1 musician, 4 musicians > 1 musician) who was the fourth drummer of the band, and who had absolutely nothing to do with the first album, that MADE PJ iconic I genuinely don't understand how come you be so delirious
Im 52 years old and I love the Beatles and ACDC into the 80s I Love Iron Maiden and Metallica scorpions and Into the 90s its Chilli peppers Foo Fighters and of course Pearl Jam. I remember the first time I heard them exactly the spot. The party was shit until they played Jam. As soon as I heard Eddies song I was there. Im a person who loves all forms of music and Pearl Jam deliver it baby.
I've been watching every version I can find of RVM, and this is the best. It's in the daytime, so it easy to see them all. The sound is awesome. The instrumental part is really well done. Eddie looks so mesmerising. I keep coming back to this one.
@@leeleeturn Imagine being the bitch that had him just for herself during his best years and then dumped him. And he is literally more beautiful than her. And I'm a straight male. And I bet you he never cheated on her. Now, that's a tragedy.
I gather speed ... just that line ... defiant, empowering .. makes me want to run & fight & stand up. Exact same feeling now as when it was first released. Watched this just before bed & now I’m wide awake!
I love how he apologized after he botched a line... To a crowd in the Netherlands. Seemed odd at first, but I'm pretty sure they speak better English there than they do in most US states.
I was lucky , I grew up in the late 70's early 80's by the time I was 21 it was 1993 and I went through early deep purple iron Maiden Metallica anthrax and pearl jam etc.. To me Pearl jam never reached the heights they should have done, today they may have done, but thanks to online videos old videos of this can live on. One of the best bands of the 20th Century. This is a classic
FRIKKEN AMAZING Eddie's voice is perfection. Its rare that a band is better live than on the albums. Matt Cameron is crazy all over those drums, he is the best drummer Pearl has ever had. PEARL JAM ROCKS!!!
The look on his face and the gleam in his eyes is why this is real music! You can’t fake that emotion. New music is just commercials set to a catchy tune
IT´S AN OLD BATTLE SONG, THANK YOU GUYS FOR MAKING THIS SONG WHAT IT CONTINUES HELPING ME TO FOLLOW IN THIS LIFE, IT ALWAYS APPEARS WHEN I NEED IT, LIKE IF YOU SEE IT AT 40'S !!!
I've seen this video more times than what sounds sane and yet I just realized he actually says SORRY with the cutest of the smilesssssssss. He's reached Kurt and Jack White's place of greatnes since I saw him live a few days ago, I'm obssesed with him, specially the song SMILE, mind-blowing, hottest song ever.
I haven't heard this song in years, then I heard it on a TV show of all places, and wondered what the hell is wrong with me?! This song is epic! 🤘🏻 Probably my favorite PJ song! 💜
Just love... Pearl jam were always on my life... and will be... I still remember the very first time they were given me to hear... Versus and I was so so young... it in some kind of way defyned me as a person... saw things...saw things clearer...clearer
