Caution - grumpy old man comment follows.... I've been a Pearl Jam fan for 30 years. I have all their albums (No Code is my fav). Except this one. Why? Because to buy this album on CD in the UK is £22 to £25, when usually new albums cost about £12. Plus, Pearl Jam gig tickets have rather sharply increased in price this time round. For a band thats supposed to value their fans and has traditionally had an anti corporate/capitalistic stance this is disappointing. They should be supporting fans that still buy physical media, not ripping them off. Anyways, I will still buy the album, when it inevitably drops about £10 in price. Enjoyed the video, and glad to hear you really like it! Stuart

Hey Grumpy Stuart! Hate to tell you this but based on rate of inflation in pounds in 1991 (the Ten year ~12 pounds), 22-25 pounds is about right for a cd in 2024. Inflation sucks but the album doesn't! The thing that's really not tracked inflation are concert tickets. It's a serious issue for music fans but it looks like they may be revolting if your name isn't Taylor Swift: Black Keys had to cancel their NA tour because their fans refused to pay $150-300 per ticket (including me!) Anyway, get the cd and enjoy the tunes! Cheers!

@MusicMentionsReal lol, thanks for reply. I think you maybe misread my message. New CD albums in UK are usually £12. The PJ album is £10 more. I'm also a massive Neil Young fan, but for some reason, he seems to be doing the same thing by hiking the price of new CD releases. It's not inflation - I buy new albums all the time, so I am very aware of what the current prices are.

@@suartgilmour4540 Thanks for the clarification, Stuart! I agree that £10 more than regular is ridiculous if not outright gouging. That doesn't align with PJ's values. I wonder how they justify it?

@MusicMentionsReal Yeah, I don't know, it is a strange one. It's no big deal. I just don't want it becoming a trend or the new norm. Springsteen annoyed me with his ticket prices, too. He's meant to be a man of the people, but he was looking at least £150 ( about $180) to see him in a field in Belfast! Mad. I believe one of the main Springsteen fanzines stopped in protest at his current ticket prices. On a more positive note, I am going to see The Pixies and PJ Harvey this summer in Belfast (tickets about £65). Enjoying new albums by Phosphorescent and St Vincent too!

@@suartgilmour4540 One of the things that's changed a lot over the years is the way the internet and social media have brought more desire to people to attend concerts. It used to be that most (if not all) the people buying tickets to a show were fans of the artist and their music. Now it's shifted to be what the 'cool' people do. People go to shows just to be able to there and to be SEEN there. Coachella is a perfect example: a once great festival overrun by people that have a passing interest in the actual music. Rock music used to be dangerous, anti-establishment, and something that was frowned on by polite society which was what gave it a lot of its power. Now it's used to sell cars and home goods. All that translates to higher demand and less real music fans at shows. That St Vincent album is great! I'll have to check out Phosphorescent, not familiar; thanks for the recommendation! Cheers!
