This may be the best c50 demo i have ever seen to show the dynamic range of the classic series. Hope nobody else sees this video, or used value will skyrocket on these VERY underrated amps!
I've tried to buy three of these now. First one I had on layaway and had to cancel due to car trouble. Second I ordered and the drive channel was broken, and the third I put on layaway and then the store sold it to someone else...I've got bad luck with these but they're so nice. Maybe I'll try again...
Hey...nice...wondering which tubes give it a greater output volume. Do the tubes you had installed make a difference in volume or just tone?! Reason is my amp gets lost during jam session, so was wondering if its possible to increase its volume. Thanks, any info is appreciated!
Maybe not your problem, but in older houses and garages I've noticed the same thing, especially if using un grounded plug in's. If so, reverse the plug and might sound better. Something about in and out of phase, causing cancellation of certain freq.
Angel Hernandez not so much volume difference swapping output tubes. For years the JJEL84 for my go to for this circuit but a couple of years ago I excessive noise / failure issues led me to change to TungSol EL84. I’ve been very pleased with the sound and reliability. FYI the older Peavey Classic series are generally biased extremely hot - to have a tech adjust the bias to a more comfortable 60-65% plate dissipation at idle is highly recommended.
rickeygottheblues lots. My go to is JJECC83S and Tungsol EL84. I was using JJEL84 but starting having a lot of noise and failure issues. So I switched to the TungSol EL84 and have been very happy with the results.
