Let's take a moment to appreciate just how great it was to hear Lee's playing in this.. particularly with the high gain!

Make a note: Lee plays best blues lick he's ever played on a Peavey High Gain monster :D

Just wanted to say it was great seeing Chapman goading Lee into playing with more and more gain. It's not often you see Lee taking center stage with the gain stuff in these little equipment jams but it was nice to see Chappers encouraging his friend.

I've got to say, I'm generally not a fan of Rob's tone, although I am a fan of him! I do understand why he pushes the mids and highs as much as he tends to, but I've always found that in these kinds of videos (no band/mix to cut through) his tone has typically sounded thin, piercing, and just too mid focused. That being said, occasionally I am staggered by the tones. The PRS Archon and the Peavy Invective 120 have given me that sense of "Holy shit that sounds badass!" Go Rob! Go Lee! Go Andertons!

Sounds as though they rely on the interface for a majority of the heavy lifting, as opposed to outboard analog gear which would allow refinement of the signal before it even gets to the interface. This would allow them to hear the source better, customize it at hot levels, compress/limit it below 0 and then send this customized signal to be recorded at the interface, thereby avoiding sterilization. We wonder why they don't wonder why everything sounds the same. Retaining the details is another battle altogether, where things get crushed in post, rendered to wave which also has resolutions, when they go to video they need full resolution of the audio. Much needs to be done before it gets to the interface, but after that much needs to be preserved.

I'm at 01:45 of this video and I can already tell that Lee and Rob are having a great day (had a great day) and probably had a clown for breakfast! With those videos it doesn't even matter what they demo, I just wanna be there and pretend to work for Andertons :D

It is a true testament to Misha and his sig model that while it was his specs, the amp is useable in so many different ways by so many different types of players. Definitely a home run by Peavey on this amp.

Hartley Peavey, a great bloke who was is denied giving us his best, due to the red tape in the states. His solid state amps are the best modern up to date sounding amps of all time.

Just picked one of these up randomly. Heard about it, hadn't heard it, couldn't beat the price, plus it included the midi life controller. Been playing a 5150II into a 212, and 5150 212 combo together for close to a decade. This thing is now king of the stuff I own pile. No piece of gear has made me want to play as much as this has. It seems that (fan of their music or not) if Misha or Mick Thomson put their names on it, it's amazing.

@09treloar Oxford says that both forms can be used to express the "lack of interest" even though "disinterested" can also mean "impartial" too. On the other note min 12:50 says it all and needs no word to describe it :)
@danoeb-g418
@danoeb-g418 5 лет назад
@09treloar the cool thing about popular language is it doesn't care about rules. Language is about conveying a message and we use words to do so. If at the end of the day both parties understand what was said then it doesn't really matter how the words were spelled or pronounced. If you have ever tried to read old or even middle English you would understand that language changes all the time and we can't cling to old meanings out of some weird nostalgia for the way things used to be. Language is fluid and must change with every generation. New words are created and old words are phased out. At the end of the day U shood git wth the times old man.

I love Peavey!! Peavey rage was my first peavey amp and the first amp of many american shredders!! My second was a Peavey Triumph PAG 120 scorpion equipped!! It was my first large tube amp. Had the cops called on me a few times for that amp lol..Would love to find another one someday! Always wanted a 5150 or 6505 amp not the head i prefer combo amps rather than just the head and speaker cabinet. Much easier to carry with you to gigs and such too. I'm currently playing on the Peavey vypyr 30 amp at home. Amazing range of tones and semi affordable! Lots of presets and i really think the vypyrs can contend with higher calliber amps for the most part and holds up pretty well with drums. Great video guys thanks for sharing! Rock on!!

Fanned frets CAN be an immediate adjustment depending on the player. Personally, I don't hardly notice the difference. I have an Ormsby Goliath that has a rly wide/extreme fan and because of the fact that I have fairy short fingers, I have to do a weird reach to do much on the lower strings. Which I've found, the fan actually makes it easier/more natural of an angle in line with how my fingers end up. That sounds odd and it's hard to explain, but to some people it does just feel very natural.
@TybudX
@TybudX 5 лет назад
If I had any practical use for a giant amp head this is the one I would buy. Peavey and Misha Mansoor really nailed it. Probably one of the only things I could think to add to it would be a few more pedal power connections specifically for 12/18 volt stuff. The noise gate seems surprisingly adaptive, too.

Listening to Lee shred and watching Rob geek out over it was the most entertaining thing I’ve seen in a while. Way to go boys! Thanks for the vid.

There's a principle that has always worked for me: vintage guitar into modern amp or the other way around. I think the Ibanez + Invective is just too "optimized" for metal and you're left with only sledgehammer and no body. The G&L sounds much better as a base tone. The other way around, probably sticking that Ibanez through a Victory or something Marshally will be glorious too.
