Using my Jackson RR5 tuned to D with a JB in the bridge. Running straight into the Rock Master with a little reverb from the Supermassive plugin. Mic is a GLS Audio ES57 on a V30 at a 45 degree angle.
Man. I had one of these a decade ago and I miss it al the time. This thing CHUGS. I ran mine through a peavey 50/50 power amp with a TC Electronics G Major. So fun!
@@chrisdudeword1 That sounds like a perfect combination! Would love to get a 50/50... or better yet, a 120/120 power amp. That would blow the windows out haha!
@@TurpTesta Thanks! Absolutely love that song and album. These older preamps are a lot of fun too, well worth checking out. The sad part is that they tend to be expensive nowadays.
sounds awesome and has that legendary peavey grind, kicking myself on not getting one, im using a Lee Jackson preamp currently, parametric EQ's work wonders with any preamp i've found, its like taking a muffler off the sound
@@DOKITT Thanks! Those Lee Jackson preamps are pretty sick, hope to own one someday. Actually did a few mods to the Rock Master today, changed out the C4, C5, and C14 caps for .0022uF ones. Tamed the crazy mid range just enough and I love it even more now.
Thanks! I have actually scaled my collection back a little bit. I think I have around 13 or 14 different amps / preamps now. Was at almost 20 at one point.
@@low_e_music That’s interesting because just from watching and listening to yer videos, you seem to have few guitars. I am the opposite of you, 30 guitars and 4 heads. But all my heads are real rippers. Got a Crate GX130C, Peavey Supreme160, EVH 5153 50 watt, and a Boogie .50 caliber plus.
So meaty! I like this sound and nothing beats the original (valvestate?) but the Peavey seems to be brighter and more mid focused. What kind pickups are in the Jackson?
