Pectus Carinatum 

I'm 16 and I have a very severe case that you can see even when I'm wearing a jacket. I tried two braces over a span of two years with absolutely no results other than extreme pain. Last week I saw a new doctor who told me that my chest had hardened prematurely and my case was much too severe for a brace. I will be having the surgery next month and I'm truly so excited to finally be free. Years of insecurity will finally be over. To anyone who's suffering through this terrible condition I'm sorry but there is light at the end of the tunnel

It's weird that in America tons of people know about this but in the UK hardly anyone knows about other than doctors.

I have a slight case of this Pectus Carinatum. Kinda sucks, dont want my shirt off infront of girls because they might notice and laugh.

I have never taken my shirt off at the pool that’s how embarrassed I am of having this

I have Pectus Carinatum on one side of my chest it wouldn't be as bad if I had it on both sides. This video helped me out a lot.

I’ve been wearing my brace for almost seven months for 20 hours a day and have seen massive improvement. The doctor says I will be out of the brave in about a month or two. I can’t wait for it to be over. Reading these comments makes me grateful that mine was not half as severe.

I have a slight case but I am glad because I can show it off and I play with it by squeezing my chest making it pop out or putting pressure on it to cave in I constantly do this and others find it weird or even fascinating.

Does your age effect how long you have to wear the brace

This might help some people since it helped me a little but some massages can help it a little, it isn’t a way that completely gets rid of it but it does help so if anyone is struggling maybe try this 🤷🏻‍♀️ it might have been a one time thing when it worked for me but it might be worth a try

Im 23 years old and ive dealt with this my hole life, i guess mine is mild or maybe a little bit worse in my opinion, i get ask about it all the time and it gets quite annoyed sometimes because i get self conscious I am about it. It change my life and how people look at me. I wish i would of done something sooner when i was younger. I always asked myself “why me, why does it have to be me, why cant I have a normal chest like everyone else I hate it!” but I just accepted it and kept going. Back in high school i lift weights for 3 years and it help out a lot didn’t really notice that much, I felt good about myself and after i graduated highschool I quit lifting weights and my chest started to show back up again since I stopped. Now i just keep going try to ignore it and how people look at me or think about me

Hi I fell on my back sometime ago my question is the sternum bone is it supposed to be flush with your chest or stick out cuz mine sticks out and I get all red around that area and my neck and sore my collarbone hope you can reply to this cuz I've had no luck with chiropractor or hospital they say nothing wrong but my body says different and my back is sore also at the upper part

idk what i got but the top part of my sternum, right underneath the collar bones is raised a lil. not sure if its cuz im skinny or not tho.

I noticed this myself when I was like 13-14 that was 35 ago. Visited the doctor but only mentioned surgery. It was bothering me a lot and i kept pressing down on it as a habbit. Later on in my 20s i totally forgot about it especially when hair grew around my chest and started the gym. Alas, only a few days a go I fewlt a pain at the area and it all came back to me. I am depressed atm especially when I think (pretty sure) my boy has it. He is 6. I dont know if we have this brace apparatus in the UK. Can anynone help?

I think I have this but I cannot tell as I have a bit of fat on the bottom of my belly. Can someone please tell me if I have it because my chest pokes out in between my belly button to my breast and if I breath in it curves inwards and my bottom and top half look completely different. i'm from philippines. i hope the brace is available here. my son has this bone deformity. i noticed this when he was nine months. my mother don't believe me that his upper left rib is kind of more noticeable than the right side. but as he grow older it now became noticeable. it's not common here so other doctors didn't know about this. after this pandemic, i will go to a orthopedic pedia so that my son will have a check up. and will have a clear understanding about a cure to this or a remedy. btw my son is turning 4, next yr.

I've noticed my imbalanced chest for years now (I'm 21) and have just assumed it was because I do more things with my right hand and thought that's why my left pec is so much smaller. I've tried to switch my grip on different exercises and tried to work my left pec more but it hasn't changed in the 5ish years since I started trying different things. Could that be the case it's my dominant side or could it be pectus Carinatum? (not expecting a doctor answer but experience or any comments might help lol)

simple this takes time i was told to try to sleep on my chest this worked for me and my sons it is hard and unconformable but like braces on teeth it will work and now my grandson is in the process this is inherited and nothing to get woried about we are all different and this can be done it takes about a year but it works for every one that i know that has tried this

Ayee just found out I had it today. Good thing I caught it early I found out not because I noticed the bumps, I did a bit but didn’t think anything too serious, but the main reason was the sharp pain I got randomly. Got it checked out turns out I have pigeons chest so I am getting a brace soon. Hope it turns out well and I’m lucky I didn’t need surgery for it. If anyone else is going through this just know that you aren’t alone.

I realized I have a bump in the middle of my upper chest that feels like bone thinking this could be it. I'm 23 though do u think this will get worse if untreated?
