Still my fave pedal review channel. Best. No nonsense, detailed and salient opinions. I actually have a soft spot for this pedal. My OG HM-2 was more of a home pedal lol, and I remember being somewhat satisfied with the touch of "saw". Add an EQ pedal, as Dome has shown, and you can really dial in more of those favored frequencies! So cool to see the frequency responses! Thanks man 🤘

Great way to show a pedal's behaviour showing the waves. Congratulations. Could you show the waves of another effects like: chorus, flanger, phaser and so on. Thanks a lot.

Cool, a pedal that I have wanted to see on this channel for a while. It sounded best in the recorded part of the video, especially in the amp's OD channel. In the live part of the video, it seems the pedal needs much tweaking, but it got a decent tone in the end. I especially look forward to seeing the Metal Muff compared to the Boss HM-2. 🤘

These always made me think of a MT2 as well, just without a Mid Frequency knob. The big difference seeming to be the slight bit of smoothness in the EQ vs the more harsh attack of the MT2. Happy coincidence that the Mid knob on the MM is centered around 1400. Makes for easy Saw access. I am not a fan of any Muff I have encountered because they just never dial in that great. You either get a muffled fizzy mess or a fizzy shrieking mess. Yet another contender for a GE7 to fix. Prices are about to skyrocket in the next week or two.

I love your series. Is there any way you can start showing the distortion wavelength, like wether or not it's hard or soft clipping, asymmetrical and what shape it is?

I somewhat agree with when you said, it might not be designed for the amp. While most amps have a Mid, Treble, and Low, and additionally overdrive circuits.., they have unique circuits that adjust these levels differently and in different ranges. Maybe your amp is bringing out its true sound, or perhaps means that's just one of the pedals many characters.

When I had a metal muff it worked for when I wanted something more durable than the Behringer, however for the same price you can get the metal muffs used you can get a brand new Eyemaster that works 10x better for a budget chainsaw pedal.

I have it, I can say the gate is really nice and can get a nice range of metal tones with that and my Micro Dark. Not a lot of experience with it yet but its worth checking out.

@@jetblaksuit I love it! was only 72 bucks brand new! I recently spent 160$ on one of those Revv G4 pedals everyone is raving about. But I hardly use the Revv, I just use the Metal Muff, even though it was half the price. The Revv was used, brand new its around 250$ ish.

The Revv is overrated imho. I took the G3, an mt-2 and the fullbore to a band rehearsal. G3 was by far the worst.

@@DomeNightbearer Never played a fullbore pedal, but I hear they are pretty good. I like my G4, but it defiantly is NOT worth its retail price. Its honestly only really good for mid range riffing. I am not sure why the Revv pedals have the holy grail reputation that they do.

Your clean sound with the modded 800 is anything but clean. That's probably why you couldn't dial it in the way you expected to. I own one, and it's not great, but it behaves quite differently in front of an actually clean channel, compared to a driven one.

Just wait til you get your first vintage big muff - mind will be blown - the big muff is a classic not a metal pedal but man is it heavy metal - if that makes any sense

That is what everyone kept saying and I finally broke down and got one. Definitely was disappointed by it. Glad people like it, I just do not get why myself. hhahaha

@@riffsnoleads I've got th metal muff,the big muff deluxe and the big muff germanium deluxe and I get se super killer metal tones out of the deluxe big muff,and can get killer heavy sounding shit outta the germanium.took alot of tweaking but I did it...it's way better than the metal muff.not a new tight sound but very ugly and dripping with distortions and doomy heaviness from heavens hell.however my metal muff has zero chainsaw sound to it at all.none.dussappointing but not made for it either.complete different distortion.and high gain when th hm-2 seems to be kinda low gain really but balls hard and godlyke with a distorted channel channelling it's quintessence.
