My 8 year is holding and leaking. I believe it may be a sensory/trauma response. I have been at a loss and I’m glad I ran into this video. Thanks so much for sharing.

Please, what did you use, I am having exactly this to my 8yrs as well, it’s now a week… I gave her water melon everyday and she eat oatmeal…. still same

Mine is 4.5 and is withholding. I feel like a failure as a mum due to this. She was trained at 2, then she fell into toilet and refused. And she is drinking a lot of milk and was constipated for awhile so for my child it be rising from multiple reasons. I feel lost🫠

My 4 year old daughter is good withholding poop. She doesn’t poop for 4 days now. She drinks a lot of prunes juices, stool softener, fruits, veggies. She had hard poop once and traumatised her ever since. I don’t know what to do anymore.🤷🏻‍♀️

Hmm, too much stool softener and prune juice can make constipation worse, try increasing water mixed with juice(the can of frozen strawberry fruitopia worked for my son because it has fructose sugar which acts as a laxative), does she take proboitic gummies for kids? It's for tummy health I had my son on it for a week and I think it may be helping with his withholding and constipation because he had just went and it's way softer now. Ground flax seeds can help too if added to food like spaghetti or oatmeal, I started giving my son cup of fruits with the syrup and I think that might help aswell, Avoid giving bananas and dairy foods, I hope some of these suggestions help. My 2 year old has constipation too and started withholding because of the poop that was painful made him scared to go, went to doctors 4 times but they just gave me a stool softener that seemed to make his constipation worse. So I tried abunch of different things to try help my son and what I suggested seemed to work for my son.

I’m having a VERY similar circumstance. I have tried everything. Still trying to figure her out. Ugh. Wish there was one sure way to get her to go regularly.

My 2 year old is withholding, had a big poop when he was about 1 and now he's always terrified of pooping every time. Jan 2nd, oh my God lol my son just actually went on his own, cried out and came to my room and I thought maybe he hurt himself but then I smelt poop and he had gone on his own and he was okay. I been lessening dairy and getting him to eat more fresh fruits and having pastas with some ground flax seed mixed with the sauce. He loves his formula so I had added only 2 scoops and add more water(watered down formula) and noticed the change right away, his poop was super soft and probably couldn't hold it in. Started him on tummy health gummies afew days ago too. So any one of those could have started helping the poop to be softer and couldn't withhold it. I feel relief that he won't be in pain anymore. Hopefully we can keep this up and start trying to potty train again.

ive got twin sons aged 2.5 years old .. one baby is fine with poop .. but the other one is always holding his poop and he gets constipated alot since past whole year this is going on .. doctors dont have any solution .. ps my child is healthy with good weight and a very playful baby

When I didn’t mention it at all my 3 year old held his poop for a little over three weeks. I cannot drop the subject! It made it worse. We are still struggling with it

Give him candy to sit on the potty with, say a sucker, I did this with my son and it worked.

My son 3 yrs old has been holding for 2 weeks now and don't want to sit on the toilet, sometimes he dances to hold the poop back. I was advised by the doctor to conduct abdominal scan which I'm planning to do

My 3yr old just experienced her 1st constipation. She's screaming and crying. We went to her pedia and prescribed a miralax. After few days, we used to pedia lax and a big poop came out but she's in pain. Now she seemed traumatized with the pain she experienced from that moment. Me and my wife are getting exhausted. We'll be continuing use of miralax (maintain dose) hopefully not for long. All her dairy is milk, ice cream (once or twice month if permitted). Not a candy lover.. she loves spinach, carrots. Water is not a problem. We'll try to disengage for a while. But for how long?

There is no real answer for the toddler withholding for psychological reasons. This feels HOPELESS.

My 2.5 year old has had constipation for the last few weeks sometimes with blood. We did miralax for two weeks after our pedi suggested it and it made it softer but she’s had to poop so much that it was raw and she still yelled “this hurts me” or “my poo poo hurts” I lowered the miralax over a few days thinking she needed a break from all the pooping and yesterday she didn’t poop at all after four times the day before… today she had a hard stool with blood around it. She stands there and shakes trying to hold it in whether it’s soft or hard. She asks to go to sleep all of the time because that’s the only time she doesn’t feel the urge to poop it seems. She’s constantly trying not to poop. Her bubbly personality is changing because she’s so traumatized by pooping it plagues her every moment. How do I make it stopppp😭

Thank you. We have actually trying everything ang getting frustrated with this poop in the poty thing with him. He holds it and he will leave little skid stinky poops and me and my husband are getting so stressed out with this . He now says poopy all the time too and thats embarrassing for people to hear and look at us like our child is gross. We are taking him to a dr tomorrow because ive tried laxatives and water and fruits and everything to sofen to the point of hes going to end up with problems.

@@ivabektashi2675 still not potty trained but he has started to pee in the toilet and tells me when he needs to pee half the time now. He's 4 and still hids to poop. I catch him and tell him you don't need to hid come here and poop. Hopefully he will start coming to me to poop and we can start pooping in the toilet too

I wish there was an app that I can play and say oh see the doctor say not to hold your poop you’re going to hurt your belly. I got my little one to take his medicine because I told him his doctor said he had to so I wish I had an app with the voice of a doctor that would say time to go poop don’t hold it. Don’t want to scare the kid I just want him to have someone he respects to tell him he has to go. He’s not scared when I say the doctor said you had to take your medicine he just takes it. And then tells me to call the doctor to let them know he took the medicine.😂

My about to be 3 yr old just hates pooping anywhere now. She was looking like it was gonna be a quick potty training but she got severely constipated which meant intense miralax so diapers were necessary. Now she couldn't care less about the toilet either way. She basically poops a little bit all the time. Thoughts?

My boy will be 5 in a few weeks and is still withholding. He poops in the middle of the night while he’s sleeping and relaxed but is terrified to push on the toilet. I’ve tried so many stool softeners and they just don’t get it soft enough to “not hold it in” as my pediatrician says. Idk what to do.

Try lessening dairy and avoid bananas, these cause constipation, get him some probiotic gummies for kids for tummy health. Try looking for juices that have fructose sugar(it's a sugar that acts like a laxative) Flax seeds are very high in fiber and can buy ground flax seeds so you can add to meals directly. Drinking more water is good aswell, watering down juice can help too if they refuse to drink Plain water, fruit cups with the syrup may help aswell, I did these for my 2 year old son because he had constipation and it seems to be helping. It's been a week and a half and my son had just went on his own, he couldn't withhold it because it was too soft.

This is my daughter right now and it’s been going on for months. She will go in her sleep. She is not conscripted and never has been. Did u get your son to go on the potty yet? Please give me hope this ends!

@@maryvera2730 yes! He started right after his 5th birthday which was in January of this year. It took two really painful, LARGE poops for him to realize that it stopped hurting once it was out and I basically just let him cry sitting on the toilet and the crying pushed it out and I held him and just kept praising him. We were giving him Potty Wise drops from Amazon and they were amazing!
