Outstanding video....Just for reference by the 50's and even before some Cuban bands played with 2 Tumbadoras. See Roberto Faz " Pintate Los Labios Maria"

Affirmation for playing a tumbao without the "3 pt shuffle" on the left hand. Interesting.

Thanks for the heads up on that. He is replacing the left hand tip with a right hand tip after the slap.

Yep, interesting. Notice the bass keeps the pulse in the 3-part of the clave on top of the tumba as well.

So the story goes....the iphone ringer is a TIMBA pattern. Always wondered if Eddy Cue who's Cuban-American had something to do with that.
