Stoked for Pedro’s week!

Cycling industry: If you wish to cut your production costs, while increasing the sale prices, just make it lighter (extra points for making it less robust & less durable). :) Edit: sarcasm aside - cool video and a nice presentation.

I hear you! In this case, it's more costly to do it this way than the old way, so they must be going after those weight weenies 😁

Hi Danielle 😊 nothing wrong whith slimming down tools for carrying, I just hope the alloy part lasts, should do if they got the material right.did you move to a new shop ?, sounds like there's an echo in there, or maybe it's the new batteries in my hearing aids, lol. Thanks for the video, I look forward to the others this week, stay safe girl, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.

My sound woes do not end, depends what room I'm in ha! Need more machines or some sound foam in there. Rest assured, there will be more echoey videos in the future until I rub some nickels together and come up with a good solution 😜 So don't go replacing those hearing aids just yet!

@@NeutralSupportNews Hi Danielle 😊 thanks for the reply, forget the sound foam let's have sound effects from a cycle factory, or some busy noise in the background, lol, and don't worry I'm not dumping the hearing aids just yet, or I wouldn't hear your lovely lilting voice, sounds a bit like a girlfriend I had from laurel canyon, orange county, it was 50yrs ago now, but seems like yesterday, I think I'd better stop there, sorry for digressing, I'm sure the nickels will turn into dollars and get you what you want out of life, the main thing is to be happy and have some fun in life, otherwise what do we work for, right!. Atb, Stuart UK.

Great review! Can't help but notice what appears to be tube blocks in the background at the end. What are you using those for?
@NeutralSupportNews

Right now, they are holding down the shelf - but some days they are great for mitering bicycle frame tubes 🤙

I would have to have both; the all-steel for the shop, and the light one for mobile use. Thanks for the mini review.

Steel version seems better choice

Kl, was going to get this but ended up finding a Var star nut setter for quite a lot cheaper (2nd hand but rarely used). Any indication of it’s provenance?

VAR are less common here (US) but similar principal for the tool! Long threads, small center contact point so the star nut can flex 💪- all good things.

Defenitly don't need it as I use compression plugs. 👌 It's reusable. I wonder why they are not the norm. Apart from carbon bikes where that's only solution as a star nut will damage the steerer tube.

My completely unverified thought was that a star nut was a better hold that allowed for more preload if necessary. The expansion plugs were a compromise made for carbon due to the necessity. Like I said, fully unverified but mildly supported by companies like Cervelo doing crazy things like having the dealer epoxy a metal sleeve inside of the steerer tube so they can then install a star nut instead of using an expander plug...

@@NeutralSupportNews I think you hit the nail on the head. At one point, I was using an expansion plug on a steel bmx fork. I had to really crank it down to keep it from pulling out when I tightened the top cap screw.
