Looking at the city of Chicago pedway map is no help at all. I can see how it could help a lot in bad weather and deep snow. It probably explains why some older street level shops are shuttered. The pedway gets more traffic in winter.

@@nxg1029 What is needed are more maps in the pedway itself. There were a few but they are tiny. In Sydney Australia we have major new subway stations and new pedway connections, etc but its a very messy and disconnected system. The good weather means Australia does not have snow, monsoonal rain or searing summer heat. The three things that drive cities to need and build good pedway systems.
