I almost forgot how your voice relaxes people, and fascinates...I know I have thanked you before but I must repeat my adoration of your whole attitude towards your environment...thank you thank you thank you
That is my favourite room in the Chateau, it is so romantic and I adore the coral silk, my very favourite of all, the bed is beautiful, the wallpaper is divine, but the way you have so carefully put that room together is pure magic Stephanie, my favourite spring flowers beside the bed Mimosa ! I must go looking for some this week. My god that Chateau was so lucky to have such a stylish, talented girl to look after her and enjoy, it is pure joy to see what you have done, to hear about the journey and the gifts from your family, great stylish parents. That was heavenly x Thankyou xx
Your interior design talent is superb. Stephanie, you have so many skills and talents. Truly amazing to see the footage of the chateau when you bought it and over 14 years have transformed. Still projects you look forward to working on.
La chambre de Roger is simply charming. The mid century wallpaper and Venetian touches are beautiful and how wonderful is the bed. I think it's lovely that you care so much that this single room is just as opulent as the larger rooms.
That room is exquisite, every inch of it. And the thought that has gone into it. A lovely instalment Stephanie, you have a melodious voice, which adds to the pleasure.
@@TheChateauDiaries I am blonde as well and at the moment, I’ve gone back to my natural dark blonde sort of light brown color. I have to say, it works so well. I had a colour theory professor in art school who said that everyone looks best in their natural hair colour because it works with their personal tones and undertones in their skin as well as their eye colour. I was in my twenties at the time and very interested in high fashion and didn't want to hear of it. Now that I’m in my forties, I want to look more like myself and gave it a try and it works!
So happy to know that watching ads is helping you with your restoration. I adore this video and will watch it more than once. The room is amazing. Thank you so much for sharing the Chateau with us.
His New Life I did not realize about the Like for videos. I did not think that it mattered when a person was a subscriber. Thank you for mentioning this, I will always make sure I hit like from now on!
@@AvaT42 That is wonderful, Sonia! And when the commercials come up at the beginning of each video, resist the temptation to hit the “skip” button and let the commercials play out fully. If we all do that, Stephanie can earn income to help restore her beautiful château chapel fully! Enjoy!
The Chambre de Roger is absolutely delightful. You have such a wonderful eye for colours and details to make your rooms look so rich, historic yet ver now too. I hope to meet you and see your beautiful chateau this fall when we are in France Stephanie.
I’m always amazed what amount of furniture and odds and sods that you can fit into a room without it being over crowded.........that room would be a cozy retreat for anyone Stephanie and I love the idea of where the shower and wardrobe are..........another beautiful finished room..........thanks Donna in Toronto
It is a fairytale bedroom. You did a perfect reincarnation of a royal bedroom. The fabrics are scrumptious and your eye for detail is perfect. It's a magnificent room. Thank you for sharing
I really adore this room. The beautiful color combinations and patterns are so very interesting. I think some peacock feathers in a vase would look lovely.
This video was perfect for me BECAUSE this is the room I am staying in for the Photo de Femmes Festival Weekend at Lalande. It is lovely and it only makes me more excited!!! I can’t wait to meet you Stephanie and all your wonderful Leland’s family!
Love love love this room and everything about how you put it all together and the backstory! I’ve gone back and watched all your Videos ( commercials too). Would love to come visit some day. Bonjour from Missouri in USA.
This is my favourite of your bedrooms. It's also my favourite wallpaper in your Chateau. And I love the bedding. And OMG I was just thinking it reminded me of my favourite Venetian bed rooms and YOU said almost the same! 😍
Your videos always have a nice balance to them and I believe that is the reason for their appeal--including you, of course! For me, I admire how you share a bit of history about the item--whether it's a piece of furniture or a chandelier. Also, you openly validate your reasons for design and decorating which I'm sure for a lot of viewers, provides them with ideas to try in their own homes. Yet again, Stephanie, well done. Darryl
Making sure to watch the ads (appreciate you bringing the impact of that to our attention) Happy to play a small part in a spectacular project). Always a Sunday highlight 👌💋 That room is stunning Stephanie - your thought and attention to detail just ads such ambiance - one can literally feel it. Thank you. Beautiful blessings Mandy 👑SA
The colours in la Chambre de Roger are sublime! I love your attention to detail and the feeling of relaxed elegance enhanced by your bohemian treasures.
Enjoying yet another vlog, I now make sure that I watch the ads first, I had not realized until your comment on the 100 episode that ads gave you an income, so pleased to able to support, in admittedly a small way, to your chateau work x
@@TheChateauDiaries me too. I thought if a part of it played it counted. with that said I can only think of a few i people i will do that for. RU-vid has become far too saturated with ads. I watch a LOT of real estate videos...100's a week and it drives me nuts that I have to watch an ad in order to see a real estate ad. The videos are worth the irritation.
Yours is the only thing on youtube that I've been watching all the ads for. Thank YOU for all your hard work making these vlogs. You put a lot of effort into it and it shows..
This is also my favorite room I think! This video came at a very opportune moment. I'm going to be putting in a little library in an old farmhouse we're renovating and needed access to a powder room we're going to be putting under the stairs. I was going to have one of the the bookcases move for access but just doors on the boocase that open to the powder room, are going to be much easier! Plus it'll give a little break from all the bookshelves lining the room.
Beautiful room Stephanie. Warm an inviting. Here is an idea for your fireplace. Use several, (no real flame), candles of different heights that are on a timer. It will bring even more ambiance to this delicious room. Plus, no worries of real candle flame and guests don't have to turn them on and off either.
Bonjour. Merci.
I really enjoy these Sunday tours of the chateau and getting to know each room and its history. I love to hear you talk! It's like listening to a lively bedtime story. I got a bit nervous with the cup of tea though. Amazing how you managed NOT to spill it!!! 😥😥😥Roger would have been impressed by your server skills! That alone would have definitely gotten you a job in the chateau!😂😂😂
You did a stunning renovation of the room & so respectful of saving as much as the past history is so thoughtful, your details are impeccable!!! Loved that you saved the wallpaper! So clear that you were the best person to restore La Lande & preserving its past! Well done Stephanie, loving your Sunday vlogs! One day I want to stay in that room & just dream!😊❤️🇨🇦
Oh Stephanie! I so enjoy your cheerful enthusiasm for your interiors and love of history of your beautiful chateau. I love following your chateau life especially all the little details and where you picked up all the items and fabrics. Your diaries truly make these dreary months more bearable :) Julia
We will soon have that Chapel sorted now we all know about the Ads. We love your vlogs. They bring a little bit of glamour to our farm. Even farmer Gasson loves a sneaky peak when I'm watching. He knows the sound of your laughter now and can't help a glimpse over my shoulder. We are near Stratford upon Avon and spent yet another night at The Woodsman last week ( as per vlog 86.) It's fantastic. A real treat and on our doorstep. Always look forward to my twice weekly escapism at La Lande. Thank you.
Amazing!!!!Luv it!!!!I also run a Bed and Breakfast in Brittany... Believe me..... You've got an absolute gem... Or I should say... You've created an absolute gem! You have worked very hard ...have never stopped believing in your dreams and so therefore deserve every bit of love and appreciation from all over the world that you receive! The joy you exude is contagious!! I don't know you but I know you deserve every bit if glory coming your way! Your friends and family are absolutely wonderful.... especially Mommy and Percy!! I wish you all an EXCELLENT season! I will gladly advise all clients going to or passing close by your area to make a stop in your Beautiful B&B! Thumbs up to you and all those who lovingly surround you! 👍👌👋
What a beautiful room! I can’t wait to see more of the other guest rooms. On another topic, Stephanie a subject idea for the Vlog might be to show the kitchen garden being established over the Spring-and show periodic updates. Then, we can see how you use the produce with your teams creativity in the kitchen.
Just found your channel. Oh my I'm hooked but agree with the others about that cup of tea. I kept holding my breath and was amazed you didn't spill it. 😀 love your home and subscribed
Once again I love how you shower us with history of the beautiful Chateau you have blessed us to share. I am so in love with all the bits you have made into a lovely room fit for a princess. As I transition to my next adventure I dream it is following in your footsteps. Thank you again for the time you put into these vlogs. My days are filled of looking forward to the next adventure with you. I need to buy a hot water bottle cover from you. They look so cuddly!
Wow Stephanie another very enjoyable vlog. The more I see of the Chateau the more it makes me realise how much work you have put into it. All your collections of chandeliers and various things were meant to be because you were destined to be a chatelaine from the beginning. You deserve the fun you have that we see in your parties as you are so hard working and talent just oozes from you. Love all the furnishings in the room and you have made it look so effortless. The various bits of furniture and furnishings blend to make it such a beautiful room. Thank you again and bless you.
I too will now not skip the ads, didn't realise, it's a small way of helping you in your endeavours. You are so talented in the many ways that you decorate . This room is fabulous and I would love to wake up there and that cute bathroom...very Narnia💙💙💙
Hello!! I’m Lisa from North Carolina USA, and I’m addicted and intrigued with your life. I have been watching each post and dreaming I’m there with you all. Thank you dearly for sharing
I really enjoy this series. I love waking up on a Sunday, getting comfy with a hot cup of tea or something and watching the history of the chateau emerge. I would love to see the different staircases and where they lead to. Let the running of the commercials begin.... I hope it will entirely pay for your renovations. 🌷
Love the fabrics, bed linens, Your brocante trips, I have same Yves Delorme shams and sheets. And your hair looks a little more warm honey color , lovely. So enjoy your “joie de vivre”, thanks for keeping us dreaming!
Now coming back and watching this again, I can see why you purchased the toile de jouy bed crown at the antique fair, as it very much resembles the Polonaise bed that you fell in love with in Paris. I gotta say though, the decorative fine silk and golden 4 poster bed extentions on the Parisian version are absolutely breathtaking. You did an excellent job replicating that on Roger's bed. It truly is my favorite room in the Chateau. I had always wondered why you only decorated and rented 5 bedrooms at your B&B, French law is so incredibly strict.
Remembered to disable adblock and in return I got a lovely dose of inspiration and - most importantly - the logics behind your interior decoration. THANK YOU!
Lovely video of this very special room - the colours, and the mix of Venetian and French work very well: the result is quite beautiful. I too have similar fireplaces in my house, but I notice you appear to still have the metal shuttering, lucky you! Sadly, mine have rusted clean away due to many years of damp and the house being empty. I fill the gaps with vases of flowers, so there is always an up-side!
OH MY GOSH, I have that pink sweater set. I got it with the last gift my grandmother gave me before Lewy Body's Dementia took over my precious grandmother. Thank you for the reminder of my beloved Grandma Angel.
Oh Stephanie , this is my favorite room so far . It's so cosie and welcoming , I could live in it . The colour choice is beautiful , well done you deserve to be successful. 💕💕Xx
what a lovely story unfolding, i love your attention to detail and the amazing serendipity of you having those tassles and your father having bought you that fab chandelier years before, i love your sense of design....thanks
What a beautiful room. You really have such exquisite taste Stéphanie did you ever work in interior design ? That window is crying out for a fitted seat ! Looking forward to discovering all the hidden details of the next room xxx
I feel one of the group, watching the tea .... ohh la la! So nervous-making ... 😳 ... I'll have to watch this vlog again, just to soak up it's grace & beauty. Scrumptious! 💖
Love how you saved the wallpapers. I think they are very important, historically and aesthetically. And you do such a wonderful job with them. And touche for using your thrift and charity stores !!!!!!!!!!!
You see them in the movies all the time but I'm really happy to learn that women like these exist in real life. I mean Stephanie and Erin are both charming, knowledgeable, passionate about history and preserving it through their respective chateaux, and very talented (Stephanie is an opera singer while Erin is a doctor who paints, plays piano and the harp, etc) Not to mention both are beautiful. More power and success to both of you. Stay healthy and God bless!
This room is what fantasies are made from. You have created such beauty in a small area with exquisite detail. One note: you made me nervous with that mug of tea and that crocheted white coverlet, I just knew you were going to splash. As always, thank you for sharing and Blessings 🐶🐾🐾
Eeeek.....Stephie...that cup of tea! Looked like it was gonna spill any minute...and you never even took ONE sip....rather distracting to an otherwise most AWESOME Vlog !!!
I love to hear you mention my home (Stoke on trent) in relation to beautiful things. It just goes to show that beauty can be found anywhere, even the glorious Stoke on trent ❤️ Stunning work on this room its beautiful
When I visit I want to stay in that room!! The colours are so Venetian. The room is truly beautiful. So glad you didn't spill your cup of tea! Whew! LOL
The Chateau Diaries ,Watched the ad thankyou for letting us know, I had no idea(ONLY for you & Lalande xo), Thinking of the chapel. Love this room! Blue is my favourite colour and I have been to Venice twice and adore it! It my favourite city along with Edinburgh. Each room is like a little adventure of its own. I may stay in this room if I come to stay. Beautiful Stephanie! I love that you rescue and save beautiful furniture and the rooms are mixed and interesting very much like my home. Thankyou again. xo
Stephanie - I had to watch this vlog twice as the first time i spent watching the mug of tea perilously close to spilling over!!!! Beautiful room though and you are so artistic. Well done.
I am imagining a velvet window seat with small bolster pillows, each with Murano glass & fringe tassels on the ends - to fit in the unfinished space under the window in the Chambre de Roger. It would be heaven to sit and look out the window or settle in with a good book.
Love this room especially the wardrobe your father gave you and the little en-suite through some wardrobe doors is brilliant. I too now watch the videos #everylittlebithelps
I didn't even think about the tea! Though I never would have thought I'd be watching something like this, I enjoy the room aesthetics and your excellent presentation of the decor choices encompassing the history of the room, your family and their travels. I've even looked into volunteering one day, perhaps with my daughter who works in historic preservation in the US. I'm sorry you weren't able to welcome guests in March after all.
Such a relief to find someone who appreciates the French use of wallpaper.Beautiful.And no grey decor(oops-just gone out of fashion,I believe).Stating the obvious but you have great style,so great in fact that I will watch the ads also! Maggie
