Yes, yes, we know Peel Police Board Policy Committee Chair, Norma Nicholson was clueless about the existence of the Peel Police Records Retention Schedule. But what? You expected Peel Police to tell her?
This brief exchange between Chief Evans and Nicholson (Vice Chair of the Board and Chair of Policy Committee) shows you just how bad things are regarding authentic oversight of police in Ontario.

The exchange between Nicholson and Evans certainly suggests that it's the Peel Police Chief's lawyer Lynda Bordeleau who drafted (or oversaw the drafting) of the new provincial carding legislation 58/16. Is the Policy Committee simply a group who wait for Peel Police lawyers to complete a policy's draft, perhaps change a phrase or two and then essentially rubber-stamp it?
Because Freedom of Information definitely confirms that the Peel Police Services Board's Policy Committee does not bother to examine whether one of their policies is being followed or not.
