Great job! Paint 1, toilet paper holder 2, toilet handle 1. Wouldn’t even mind a lighter paint color, but 1 was my favorite.

Love how you keep the DIY real by showing us the good, the bad and the ugly. I’m in the process of purchasing an old ugly small house, which I intend to slowly update myself, so your channel is really helpful.

It’s always good to show when things don’t go as planned. It will be worth it in the end though.

I vote the Lauriston Stone - I believe it would look really great with the new ceiling.

I liked the Gloucester Sage paint color. I think it would look good with the brass tones.

If I had to pick from those colors, I’d pick the first one. Personally, I think they’re all too dark. But I’m not a fan of the color drenched, moody trend. That light is beautiful and the toilet handle with the white on it would look really pretty with the light. I like the subdued brass color better than the shinier one. I’m sure it will be beautiful no matter what you do, your work is always spot on.

The life and times of DIY at its finest! Thanks for sharing the good and the bad. Have you though about doing a 50% saturation of any of them and see if they would still give the mood without making it too much of a cave? Whatever you choose seems to always work well, so do your thing!

Like the toilet handle with the white. Makes it look vintage and breaks up all the brass, but whatever you choose it will be beautiful ❤

Love the moody vibe you're going for. I have been there, done that with the cascade (no pun intended) affect. One wiggly thing leads to a bent thing that leads to a leaky thing. One time I was at the big orange store so often that folks were recognizing my dog and calling her by name. You are truly an artist with your home. I can't comment on the paint colors because we have different taste in color, but it was so inspiring to see how you dealt with the multiple issues that came up!

Thunderous. I’m so glad you posted this video. I do a lot of diy but I am not as accomplished as you but I know my limits and do pretty well within them. This is not to say that things don’t always go well and they usually take me 10 times longer to finish. I’m not saying that I’m glad that this happened to you but I am glad you posted it so that the more novice of us can see that things happens to the more experienced as well. Thank you for your skill and inspiration.

Your primary bedroom is a beautiful green. I can’t remember the name but I would use that in this powder room. It will help tie everything together. For brass coloring, I choose my faucet first then if the other fixtures don’t match, I use rub n buff to get them all closer to the faucet color. I know whatever you do, it will look lovely. Can’t wait for the next episode

After seeing your inspiration photo, the Gloucester Sage is kinda my fave even though it’s dark. I’m glad to see how you are fixing the peeling drywall and such because this sort of stuff happens during our updates nonstop. I feel like we are always figuring out how to solve multiple problems that crop up.

I like the Gloucester Sage, I think it would look good with the ceiling. The middle two are too dark, IMO. I like seeing the problems; makes me feel better about some the problems I've had when doing projects. 😉

Since you have the darker wood ceiling, I would go with the first color on the left.

So sorry about the water break, been there, done that, but in my kitchen. Colors #4 is my choice Brass - I would keep the same as the light fixture. Toilet knob - could use either one. I'm glad you mentioned this in your master bath makeover. I didn't know this was available and will be doing it in mine.

I like Glouchester Sage the best. You do amazing work. I am always so impressed by the extent of your skills. Keep it up!!

We learned our lesson years ago. Anytime we are doing a major project in the bathroom, my husband turns the water off. It’s inconvenient but after cleaning up a flooded mess, I live with it! 😁 I also like the first color sample you painted!

Oh, no! Very frustrating to have things go wrong. But I'm glad you still posted the video. Keeping it real! Thankfully, my house has a shut-off valve on the outside of the house where the hose bib is. I needed it when one of the copper pipes in the wall between the laundry area in the garage and hall bath sprung a leak. And thank goodness I had it replaced about a year before because it wouldn't shut off any longer. I don't know if that's an option for your house. I had the house repiped because that was the second leak. Switched from copper to pex. I liked the color you have on the outside of the house but think it didn't show as well in the bathroom. Could be the difference in lighting temperature or just how it appeared on camera. I like the solid brass toilet handle better. I think the one with white is a bit Victorian or farmhouse looking. I'm impressed that you were able to handle the plumbing. If you haven't already, you might consider replacing the other valve as a precaution. As always, looking forward to the next video.

Bless your heart!!! I know exactly how you feel and what you are going through! I’ve had the same problems working on my bathrooms!! UGH! Always something else to fix or clean up! I love your ceiling and I think I’m gonna do my bathroom ceilings also with extra wood I have left!

That leak is a reminder of the one I had, but my leak was a sewer line backup. I used every comforter, towels and anything else I could find. That happened in March and it’s July and the bathroom, laundry room and family room is still a mess. I have had five contractors I hope this one will get things done.

Great job and I love your thought process! I think the only thing that I would have done differently is replace both water valves. I would be paranoid that the other one would be giving out to, but I’m a worry wart. 😅 Beautiful job though and I can’t wait to see the reveal!

I live in a small 900 sq ft home which began as a 2 room railroad house in 1943 and after 4 different add ons now is my 2BR 1 Bath house. I want to say that it seems like every DIY project always has a surprise at some point for me! 😂 It does grow your knowledge of how to do things that you had no clue how to do! I know water damage is one of the most scariest but you seemed to react quickly enough. With the golden color of the beams, I like the paint color you have used a lot, the laureate one. But then I wonder if it is too much repetition through out the house and be boring. The last lighter color has too much of yellow to me in it and would contrast against the wood I think. Perhaps, the first with a different sheen than the rest of the house? Greens are hard! We just painted my Granddaughters accent wall a deep green and the other walls a lighter olive green and it turned out really pretty. But choosing the colors was difficult!

Oh gosh, what a mess. Water troubles inside are always the worst! Glad you stuck with it and filmed it all. What you do is not easy and I think it is so helpful to include issues because it could potentially help someone doing something similar. We are here to learn from you!

If I had to choose from the 4 paints, I would go with #1. But because I like to think outside the box, I agree with some others in saying go slightly lighter. Mix #1 with leftover white paint, then add #2 for some "green" hues = custom color.

projects always have issues. A few years ago I was removing wallpaper and ended up tearing the drywall paper. I found a product called GARDZ by Zinsser, I think. it was made just for torn drywall & was great. I hope you don't have anymore issues.

I love green! It's my favorite color! I think that's why I so enjoy your makeovers and DIYs. I love the 1st paint color best (lauriston). Have you thought of limewashing the walls to give some texture and movement in a small space? I saw it on another DIY and it really made the space appear bigger. Lauriston Stone - it's a softer colour and will be beautiful but allow other things to shine as well. Also like the Satin Brass the best for the same reason.

Is there a color between glouster sage and lauriston stone? Couid that be the best of both worlds or baby poop? Lol I like the satin tp holder better, but your light looks more glossy, so that may be the best one. Be cautious on using the glossy brass on the light and tp holder and the brass/white handle on the toilet. You might get a more dated look than you want. Maybe not, but super shiny metal and that white piece on the handle are definitely 80s trends, except they used silver instead of brass. I'm sure whatever you decide will be the right decision. Take a deep breath.... you're doing great!

Personally I think they all look a bit too dark especially when you get the whole room painted. I've made the mistake of swatching a colour on the wall and thinking it looked OK and then it was really dark once the entire room was painted. Sorry you had the disaster with the water, I think I'd have cried😢.

I don’t know what it is, maybe the lighting, but I don’t like any of the colors for the bathroom :/ I guess you will just have to go with what you are feeling the most. Way to push through on this project despite all the setbacks.
