I seriously love your channel over any other channel. I love how you are diy updating your home and bringing us along on the journey. I also appreciate how you post a videos of ways to save money and not like oh yeah, I spent 100 grand on one room. Your house is absolutely stunning and should be in a magazine ❤❤
Oh and to add- the wipe on poly has an amber tint to it so in time you may also see your treads turn a bit more warmer. If that is ok with you then there is no worries but because you were using a red oak- that poly is or may turn things "yellow-ish" or more warmer toned over time due to the amber ingredient in the poly product.
If you ever have that problem again with your wood looking pink- mix up a paint wash using a green paint. It will minimize how much red/ pink if popping thru. I had to do this method on a mid century tiered side table. I was about ready to pull my hair out but then remembered the color wheel- green/ blue cancels out red/ orange. Hope this helps! To sum up, spend money you don’t have in things you don’t need, generating more tasks on things to clean and further trash or further clutter to storage.
