Subhan Mian has dedication and poetic knowledge only few possess, his ability to mix a wide variety of raags and execute them well is quite damn impressive What we have here is a more straightforward bandish, though. Most qawwals would mix some girahs into this, rightfully so, it is qawwali after all, but Subhan mian's andaz reminds me of, dare I say Ustad Naseeruddin Saami's qawwali, in the sense that instead of turning down the qawwali and the classical to 50% each to create a fusion, they embrace both the arts and amp it up to a staggering 101%, one of the most enjoyable qawwals I have had the pleasure of hearing The nom-tom aalap at the start, almost dhrupad like, yet very different altogether felt perfect for a raag the stature of Multani, and the use of Nishad at 4:55 was a pleasant surprise. This is one of the best uses of a raag I've heard in a qawwali, thank you for sharing this, please do share his Tarana in yaman if possible too, a million thanks to you.
