اسلام علیکم احمد جاوید صاحب۔ میری آپ سے صرف ایک ملاقات ہوئی ہے کئی سال پہلے اور میں اس ملاقات کو اپنے معمولی علم میں ایک قابل قدر خزینہ سمجھتا ہوں۔ جناب غامدی صاحب سے کئی ملاقاتیں ہوئی ہیں اور نے ان سے دین کے بارے میں نہت کچھ سیکھا۔ آپ سے ایک ملاقات میں جو سیکھا وہ ایک الگ دنیا ہے اور جو کچھ غامدی صاحب سے سیکھا وہ ایک دوسری دنیا ہے۔ آپ سے اسرار بے خودی سیکھی اور غامدی صاحب سے رموز خودی کا سبق پایا۔ میں آپ دونوں کا تہہ دل سے مشکور ہوں۔ آپکی چند باتوں سے اور جناب غامدی صاحب کی چند باتوں سے اختلاف کا حق رکھتا ہوں مگر آپ دونوں کو اپنے اپنے میدان میں جید عالم سمجھتا ہوں۔ مجھے بالکل احساس ہے کہ یہ دو الگ الگ میدان ہیں اور میں آپ دونوں کی عزت اور تکریم کو اپنے دل بہت گہری اور کشادہ جگہ دیتا ہوں۔ وسلام۔

این دلیلِ عظمتِ شما است استاذِ محترم۔۔۔۔انسانی عظمت کی دلیل یہی ہے کہ وہ خود کو حقیر سمجھے۔۔۔

Two Javeds - two intellectual powerhouses. Ahmad Javaid sahib has graciously avoided going into the content of the disagreement he has with Ghamidi sahib. But anyone who follows their thought would be able to discern that the sufistic approach to deen on the one hand and a rigorous, rational grounding of faith on the other is perhaps the core of this disagreement. We are a people who live in a permanent state of ambiguity, dream of a return to some undefined glory and that too to be brought about not by any effort at reformation of our thought, character and conduct but through the extra terrestrial interventions of 'promised' messiahs. The Farahi school - and Ghamidi sahib have shown the way of how religion can indeed become a lived experience without getting bogged down in the fuzzy mythologies and fan fiction - often thrust down throats in the name of tradition - that has built layers of ignorance, prejudices and extreme intolerance into our body politic. Our own intellectual backwardness, and to borrow from Ahmad Javaid sahib, convoluted episteme as commonly encountered, more than any challenge of thought from the West is the single most important factor driving people away from deen. Ghamidi sahib has shown the cobwebs and not without showing also the valid alternatives. Anyone interested in how an objective, dispassionate, systematic and ultimately intellectually satisfying discourse is constructed and a coherent, sensible narrative created should listen to Ghamidi sahib's extensive discussion on the issue of nazool e masih. Then think of the far fetched justifications that are grounded on this notion of return in doctrinal sufism as well as justifications that impact the belief in Khatme Nubuwat!!! We simply cannot brush aside the fact that beliefs that begin to create entire structures of thought have consequences ; sometimes so far reaching that reversing those is next to impossible. On his part, Ahmad Javaid sahib informs and inspires the search for deeper meaning. I am sure there must be many who believe that their approaches complement each other - both are necessary. Both are in their own way a blessing - no matter what the disagreement. Despite the difficulty of following Ahmad Javaid sahib's thought in a sequential manner - several topics started but not quite finished, at least for followers on youtube; what has been posted is pure treasure. After all it is Ahmad Javaid sahib who advises that where the pillars of the deen are concerned, one must go to an Aalim. And where matters of spiritual transcendence are concerned, go to a sufi (an authentic one). PS: Kind reminder about sessions on Iqbal's Masjid e Qurtaba.

Scholars like you and Javaid Gamdhi sahab are blessing for this ummah. Atleast, there are still scholars who differ with each other with grace and respect.

ﷲ کا بڑا احسان و کرم ہے کہ انٹرنیٹ کی نعمت کے سبب ہمیں جاوید احمد غامدی صاحب اور آپ یعنی احمد جاوید صاحب کے ساتھ آپ کی اس پوسٹ پر کامینٹ کرنے والے دو شخصیات ہی نہیں بلکہ اور بہت سے عالمین وہ عاملین کو اپنی فرصت کے مطابق سننے کا شرف حاصل کر رہے ہیں . اس لئے ان مواصلاتی ایجادات کو ہم علم حاصل کرنے کا ذریعہ و ٹول مانتے ہیں. اور ﷲ کا شکر بجا لاتے ہیں. آج تو وہ سننے کو ملا جو مشکل ہی سے سننے کو مل سکتا تھا یا ہے. ورنہ آپ کی باتوں کی گہرائیوں اور گیرایوں کے ساتھ آپ کے محتاط اور پرفیکٹ جملوں کی ادائیگی کا تو میں ویسے ہی گرویدہ رہا ہوں.

Javaid sb is a jewel who instills the true essence, the true spirit of being a human being, as a servant and helps us transcend to new potential with love and fear of Allah. We will always be indebted to him for life changing talks in understanding ourselves in the context of Islam. So diverse that he cannot be summed up here. Ghamdi sb though highly respectable, is but mechanical in approach yet guiding millions of people about fiqh issues with full sincerity but in a smaller container
